I called the day after Christmas. Other companies I called went to voice mail. Ernies Plumbing answered right away, then called back in about 10 minutes saying the plumber would arrive in 30 minutes, in which they did.Terry is the man. Very respectful, courteous, and very helpful. He said he has 20 years in the business and it showed. He not only showed me how to avoid a very complicated and expensive repair (very important!) while getting the same result, but he explained to me what he was doing as I had to put in the Reverse Osmosis systems after he left. I was also educated as to how things work, which proved very helpful when installing the R/O system.The only problem was both of our sons got a remote control helicopter for Christmas, and he wasn't able to help me get mine to fly correctly! I have managed to forgive him over the past 2 days though.

They were helpful and satisfactory. They were here on time and they did what they were supposed to do.

Someone from Ernie's called me twice and neither time I answered the calls, but, they left us on the schedule. I finally called the number back and was told the plumber was released to another job but we were still on the schedule and we would be called as soon as another was available. About an hour later they called again and said a plumber became available and he would be at our home within the hour. He did what he needed to do and even had a conversation with my husband. He must have been extra nice to have had a conversation!! We ended up having no charges because all he did was to reset the water heater and a general inspection. Thank you for providing this list and service grades!!! This was extra helpful in finding a plumber we can trust and call for future occurrences.

ALL my installations and repairs have gone extremely well. The plumbers- Chas 425, Darrell 441, and Damien 315 were very professional and timely in his repair or installation. Darrell and Damien came back to correct a previous repair and they were very confident and reassuring he could/would take care of the problem. I love their work. I would recommend the above three men for any plumbing job.

The job was fine and it was great. I would recommend them. They did a good job. The price was within what I expected.

I called Ernie’s Plumbing Service from a recommendation on Angie’s List. They seriously are the best quality plumbing crew in Dallas, Texas. Ernie’s crew has great customer service skills; they were prompt, friendly, professional and most of all willing to explain the behind-the-scene of what and why they were doing things, which I found extremely helpful as I’m not very handy. I had three companies out to identify and fix a hot water problem at my house. None of them were able to help or solve my problem.Damien Raines was the technician that came out on a Saturday to remove and replace my tankless water heater. Damien is awesome; arrive on time, very professional, great customer service skills, he explained every step of what he was going to do, hard worker, and did a fantastic job installing a new water heater in my home. He worked long hard hours until it was done. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family. I’m highly recommending Ernie’s Plumbing Service to anybody who needs some plumbing to be done. The left side was draining but slowly. When the plumber arrived he attempted to sell me a service plan that would also unclog the sink but it was about $200 and later he said he would offer it to me for $175. I told him that I was expecting to pay between $50 and $75 to get the left sink draining as it should and he said that I couldn't get any plumber to come out for that price so I thanked him and did not accept his offer. Later that day I looked up on the internet what could possibly cause the sink problem and what was the remedy. All I had to do was stop up the good side sink, fill the slow draining sink with water and vigorously plunge out the slow draining sink. I attempted the remedy and it worked like a charm. The point I am making is that it would have taken him less then 2 minutes to fix the slow draining sink and I was even willing to pay him between $50 and $75 to do it but he would not fix the sink for anything less than $175. Such an easy fix but his price was unreasonable for the actual labor required to fix the problem.

The house needing the gas cooktop connection is a rental property 30-40 minutes from my live in home. I called this morning and specifally stated I was not available after 4:30pm, and that my rental property has new tenants moving in tomorrow and I needed the work done today. I was originally given a 4 hour timeframe of 2-6pm, but after letting them know my availability they moved it to 12-4pm. They were not able to give me a quote over the phone which other service providers were, and I had to meet the plumber to get a quote and if I approved the cost it would be started right then. I agreed to meet the plumber as I was going to be at the house from 2-4pm and they would be available that same day in my timeframe. I got a call at 3:30pm stating the plumber was running late and wanted to come later that afternoon or next day. This was not acceptable as I could not wait at the rental house at that point so I did not reschedule. At a minimum it seems a quote could be provided on the phone versus promising same day service without a quote and then a late notification that they could not make the alotted time. Had I been notified around 2pm I could have worked around it. The team is a "C" on the phone since they were professional, and once they were aware of my frustration were very responsive. If I could have been more flexibile I think they would do good work. Given my limitation and them being aware of this, and a very late notice of needing to reschedule, the situation was not ideal and why I only gave a "C".

Overall I was very pleased with their work.

(Review revised 6 Dec. after rework by Ernie's on 2 Dec.) Really good responsiveness: I called with a non-emergency and the plumber showed up in a couple of hours. (I had called Cody first, but they couldn't come until a week later.) Would have been an A all around except that the first guy left a few things undone. They sent a different guy the next day; he did everything right. If I had lucked into getting him first, I would have given them an A. When reading this, please know that I'm an unusual customer. I can do many parts of most jobs myself; other parts I prefer to contract out. I know what end result I want, but as I get into a job and learn more, I constantly change what parts I want to do and what I want contractors to do. Some contractors deal better with this than others. In this case, the first plumber didn't cope as well as I would have liked. For the parts where I told him precisely the result I wanted and didn't change anything, he did well. When I changed my mind in the middle, he did less well. The second guy coped well, gave me good advice, and did well on all the parts I eventually asked him to do. He felt a little unhappy at me not letting him finish the job completely, but I told him that I wanted to do those parts myself. #1 came out around 4pm and found the leak, which was actually in the hose bib, not the pipe. Since I wanted a freeze-resistant one, which he didn't have on the truck, he said he'd come back the next morning with one. Unfortunately, I had rattled him with several changes and he forgot to close things up completely and left the water off. It took me about 10 minutes to close it up myself and turn the water back on. Next day, he installed the new hose bib and repacked three of the shutoff valves. This time he closed everything up properly but again forgot to turn the water back on. Only took me 2 minutes this time. That night, two of the shutoff valves started leaking. In retrospect, repacking instead of replacing seems to have been the wrong thing to do. We both thought it was right at the time; later events showed we were both wrong. Next day, Ernie's sent plumber #2. He did a lot better at coping with my constantly changing requests. He replaced 5 shutoff valves, including the two leaking ones. By that time, I had decided that the old valves were really too worn out. I also asked him to replace two more, since the old ones didn't have modern fittings for supply hoses. I dragged out a new kitchen sink, a new faucet, and a dishwasher I hadn't installed yet. We installed them, with me doing the electrical and him the plumbing. Everything worked fine, except the disposer gasket had rotted. Since I didn't have a new one, we just left that open. (I've ordered a new gasket and will install it myself when it arrives.) Next time I have plumbing work to be done, I'll call them first. But I'll remind them that I'm hard to deal with and ask them to send someone who can deal with my wierdness.

The work was performed well and the plumber was very professional.

The work was done in a professional manner with each step explained in detail. The old line under the front lawn to the street was displayed to us before the work was done. We could see the issues which needed to be addressed.

I am completely redoing our master bathroom and have saved the shower for last. Once I tore out the old shower pan, I found that the contractors who built the house had melted the PVC pipe for the drain so they could move it around some. As I pulled out the old pan, the drain pipe cracked. I called Ernie's because of Angie's list reports and they came a few hours later. While he was here I asked about putting in the shower mixer and diverter valves. He gave me the quote and said he could be here the next morning to do the work. Showed up bright and early the next morning as promised and got to work. He did very nice work and gave me some good tips on what to look for as I finish the rest of the project.

I had previously called another highly recommended Angie's List company but they said the earliest they could have someone come out was the week after Thanksgiving. I called Ernie's Plumbing and was greeted by a very pleasant woman who took all of my necessary information and said she could have someone come out today. I explained that I teach therefore late afternoon was best. She gave me a time frame of 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and said that they would call when the technician was about 30 minutes away. The did call as promised and arrived by 3:30 pm. Josh introduced himself and I explained the problem I had been having which was water leaking into my bathroom closet that is right behind the bathtub. He carefully explained the different scenarios and pricing involved with each and gave me a written estimate as well. I okay'd the job right away as I felt the pricing was extremely fair. I did watch him for a good portion of the project as he was having a difficult time locating the problem. He finally located the problem (water was simply leaking at points around my tub fixtures) and said all it needed was some caulk (which he did not charge me for). After caulking he ran the shower and no leaking water! He cleaned the site up nicely after replacing the cut sheetrock with a new access panel. Thank you Josh and Ernie's Plumbing for good honest people. I WILL be calling for any and all future plumbing needs.

I received a call within an hour of sending Ernie's Plumbing an email requesting an appointment. They came out on the day and time that was scheduled and were terrific to work with. Pete was the plumber who handled my service call. He was able to explain why I was having a problem with my kitchen faucet and helped me get it working properly. He also offered me an extremely helpful suggestion for some work I would need to have done to my granite countertops in order to be able to replace my kitchen faucet with a newer mode. (The current model could not be replaced without making fundamental changes to the existing granite countertop). I have worked with a lot of contractors in the past, but this experience has been one of the best. I will use them again and I will certainly recommend them to others.

We have an old house and had a water leak. I called Ernies and they sent someone right out. Everyone showed up at the time they were supposed to. Plumber John S. assessed the situation and we needed some major work done after decades of patching old galvanized pipe. John was very personable and professional, he gave a fair and reasonable estimate. He explained all work in detail and completed each task in a timely manner. It was truly a great experience. I have never seen a plumber who comes with his own cleaning materials, everything was left spotless. He even kept the booties on when I told him he didn't have to. We had water back in one day and he was right I was amazed, water pressure we haven't had in thirty years. Your company is truly awesome and if I have to have any more work done I'm calling Ernies. I had a water leak in water line in front yard. I called Ernie's Plumbing about 8 am, they had someone available between 9am and 1 pm that day. The switchboard called within 15 minutes to let me know the plumber was on the way and give me his name. Curtis Jackson showed up quickly there after. He has a friendly and courteous manner, and worked efficiently and professionally. He located the weak spot, determined work to be done and gave me a price estimate. I was offered a discount for being an Angie's List member and another discount because I had already exposed a good section of the pipe. Curtis had all the tools and parts on hand, dug out a larger area to get to the actual weak spot, and cut out a moderate size tree root that he thought could cause future problems. He then cut out the old copper pipe, attached joint fittings and sectioned in new pvc. He replaced all the dirt that had been removed, even what I had dug out prior, and cleared yard of all waste generated during the work. He then presented the bill, explained warranty on work, took my payment and sincerely thanked me for calling Ernie's Plumbing. Shortly after he left, I received a call from the company to ask me how the job went and if I was satisfied with the repair. I assured them I was satisfied and that the experience was a good one. They also had reduced the repair price as the job went quicker than usual and had no complications. That was quite a nice surprise. I will definitely call Ernie's Plumbing again and specifically request Curtis for any future plumbing needs I have. Thanks for a job well done!

From the initial free service call to the repair itself things could not have gone smoother. My wife was the point of contact and she couldn't be happier with the professionalism and courtesy shown to her and our home. Because I was at work the office staff allowed me to call in the payment for the services rendered.

They were nice and polite and seemed to work hard and came across like they knew what they were doing. They cleaned up their stuff as well. I’ve used them a couple times over the years and they’ve been really good about coming out.

Very well. Showed up on time and did an inspection of both toilets. Fixed all of the issues with both we have not had any problems. Even discovered the grass was placed over the main water meter and fixed that for us.

Iwanted to get a toilet fixed before guests arrived. They tried to fix the toilet but couldn't be sure it still wouldn't clog. He followed me to Home Depot to purchase a new toilet. They installed the new toilet and still gave me a discount on the work. I was impressed and pleased

We called a plumber we had used previously about installing a new hot water heater. We waited and waited and waited for a call back from him. When he finally called, he said he could not discuss the details because he was driving, but promised to return our call when he got to his destination. He must have been driving to the South Pole because we NEVER heard from him again. Enter Angie?s list ? again. Our first interaction with Ernie?s was when Damien was dispatched to our home for an estimate to replace a 50-gallon short boy water heater. He arrived within only two hours of our call. Outstanding! Damien took the time to review, evaluate and recommend the new hot water heater based upon the age (historic house) and location of the water heater in our home. During his visit, we discussed possibly installing a tankless system. Mr. Raines was very thorough in explaining the advantages and disadvantages of installing such as system given the age of the home. I bring this up because we had been looking at tankless systems in home improvement stores and not ONCE did any of the ?clerks? explain to us the extensive electrical work that would need to be done. We explained to Damien we had three more estimates that were being obtained and we would let him know of our decision. Upon leaving, he gave us a magnet allowing us to have an additional 10% off our next service call. Moments after Damien left, your office called to guarantee we were happy with the service call and to assure all our questions had been satisfactorily answered. Indeed they had PLUS we now totally understood the mechanics of a tankless system ? information that was instrumental in our decision to NOT install a tankless system, BUT TO USE DAMIEN. Damien presented a very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and capable demeanor. These traits are so rare in today?s employees. The other plumbers? Price wise ? some were costlier and some were not. Attitude, professionalism, knowledge, courteousness - not even in the same league as Damien. What sold us on Damien, was his willingness to sit and explain our options and not HIGH PRESSURE us into a decision at that moment. Ernie's plumbing responded quickly and provided dates they had available. One of the main reasons I chose Ernies because their hours were longer than most. (Availability after 5pm) The plumber came out that afternoon between the agreed upon timeframe and was quick to give me a quote and provide an Angie's List discount. The price was more than expected but they did a nice job of changing the inlets to 3/4" to fit the new on demand water heater. Cleaned up afterwards. Also had a question about an indoor jacuzzi tub, but the plumber was not familiar with them. I had mentioned this originally when setting up the appointment. Overall, the service was quick and painless. No major issues during the install. We tested the system and everything worked as planned. I will use Ernie's plumbing again in the future.

Terry showed up on time and was very friendly and helpful. He found that our garbage disposal did not need to be replaced or repaired and simply needed to be reset and flushed out. The toilet mechanisms were quickly replaced. While Terry was there he answered a few questions regarding our hot water heaters. While Terry was there, I asked him if he would also change out our shower head to a hand-held shower head and also install a counter-top water filter. Terry was great! He did as requested and went above and beyond. He also talked to us about a service contract that would meet our needs for our home. We will definitely keep Ernie's Plumbing as our plumber and would recommend them as the best plumbing company by far that we have ever used.

Damien gave me a price on draining the water heater and I had him also look at a toilet that a provider that American Home Shield sent out to fix. I wanted to make sure there was nothing else that was needed. He drained the water heater and I was happy with both the service and his courteousness.
