A portion of our family room ceiling caved in (slowly) after a pipe froze and burst during a cold snap. Custom Renovations was able to come out the day we called and give us an estimate on fixing the ceiling. They were able to perform the work about four days later, which we appreciated as we were not enjoying the smell of insulation circulating through the house. A crew of two did a very nice job fixing the ceiling and replacing the insulation and the owner, Mark Steck, personally did a good job of matching our 'cottage cheese' textured ceiling. All work was completed in one day. Was impressed with the plastic sheeting used to contain mess during the repairs. $190 of cost was for a second repair done at the same time of an approximately 2' x 2' hole in the drywall behind our washing machine. Overall was left feeling reassured and grateful that there are kind and capable people in the world like Mr. Steck and his crew who are able to fix a minor catastrophe such as this as if it were no trouble at all.

I want to remodel my 50+ year old kitchen. Custom Renovations came in and doubled the size of my kitchen by building an addition to the back of my house. This will also increase the size of my living/dining area. The addition also required the installation of a wall of new windows. They were prompt, friendly and helpful the whole time. I've used this company repeatedly and they always do a wonderful job.

Everything was done as promised and it looks great!

The team came in on short notice and did a fantastic job. The bathroom looks great!

Everything was great... excellent attention to detail, made sure we were completely happy -- even put on a new doorknob and cut a new shelf for our closet!

They were prompt, pleasant and courteous. They cleaned up all roof waste including nails, even doing multiple sweeps to remove any stray nails from the work area. Everything was left in neat stacks at the end of each day s work. The old gutters were taken away. A miscommunication about work expected and work completed was promptly rectified. I felt they went above and beyond what was expected even doing an excellent job repairing a damaged window frame and replacing some rotted fascia board. Every aspect of their work was done well. I would use this company again in a heartbeat!

I called Mark Steck because I wanted to replace my years old painted siding with vinyl. We chose a color and he suggested a unique contrasting color and shape for the gable ends of the house. The old siding was removed and the new siding was installed amidst much rain and wind. They worked very hard and did a great job. Then the soffets, gutters, shutters, garage doors, and lights were all installed in good time. I am so pleased; it's like I have a new house!

Project involved installing french doors where a double window once was. Window and brick had to be removed to fit door. Also, removed 2 doors and replaced with shorter windows. Brick had to be laid under window.

Big project that was very successful. We are happy with all of the work that was done, and have plans for more renovations in the future. Contractor always arrived on time, was careful not to damage anything, and cleaned up (vacuumed) every day!

he seems really intelligent, he is a neat and clean worker. The work he has done so far is great. he has been really flexible with my schedule and my needs.

Mark arrived, listened to my concerns and started working up the estimate. His "rough" estimate was close to what I expected along with his official written estimate that he provided me with a few days later. I thought Mark was very professional and will contact him in the future.

Mark showed up when he said he would and completed all the work as promised. He was very professional, friendly and helpful. We added a couple of things to the list after he came to job site. I believe he was reasonable and we would refer him to neighbors (in fact I've already given his number to my neighbor and emailed his info to several friends who are always asking me who to use).

Mark Steck is an all around excellent licensed and bonded handyman. Our two leaks needed some help and he replaced and patched up this perfectly. He was also punctual and very professional.

Overall, everything went very well. Mr. Steck was professional, courteous, punctual, forthright, and did excellent work.

It went very well. The contractor is very knowledgeable and accommodating. We hired him before and would not hesitate to do it again. He went to get materials at another designated store, and went back a second time when we made a mistake in the size. He also had good suggestions, and all work was done on a Saturday. We did not hesitate to leave the house alone for a couple of hours.

He was punctual, courteous, and knowledgeable. When removing the old linoleum, the wood floor underneath appeared rotten. He repaired that and leveled the floor before putting down the new linoleum. The work started on a Saturday morning and was not finished. He came back the next day, a Sunday, and brought in his son to help finish.

Since I am paraplegic, I have to hire 'handymen' for chores like cleaning the house gutters, etc. Although we found Custom Renovations listed under Angie's 'Handyman' listing, Mark Steck is much more than that. He built custom homes in Colorado before moving to Tennessee. His work is of the highest quality. He creates as little mess as possible and cleans up everything when he is done. He has extensive construction knowledge and explains things clearly. In a sea of shoddy, uncaring, workmen who seem to abound in Tennessee, Mr. Steck is a very welcome change and relief.

They are extremely honest. We have used them several years for various things around the house and have never been disappointed. We have also had them do some plumbing work in a new bathroom and they fix anything you can name.
