At first, things were going well. Ed and Marge did all they could to help, but after about a month, they left for Maryland and were gone for a while leaving someone else (that I had never met) to work with me. It was difficult to get in touch with anyone and when you did they always said "I'll have to call you back about that" and rarely ever did. Our closing date was changed 5 or 6 times which was difficult because me and my 2 kids were staying with my sister and my husband was about to deploy again. He never got to spend a night in his home before leaving. Ed and Marge left frequently to go to Maryland and weren't even there for my closing, neither was the mortgage broker (even after he told me that morning he'd be there). The Schueler's did, however, pay for us to have a home warranty for a year and helped pay the earnest money. Overall though, I don't ever want to have to buy a home again without having all the cash in hand to pay for it.
