Our business is our livelihood but it is also so much more. GFC Restoration LLC was started to fill in a void in the current market and to make a business that the people of Fort Mill and surrounding areas can place their trust in. Over the years we have never lost our commitment to our clients and that is what has allowed us to succeed in a very competitive industry. We stand committed to our purpose as we stand committed to the people of Fort Mill and surrounding areas.
The roof is poor at best, the edges hang to far in some spots and barely reach in others. We spoke to him the day this was done and he felt it was acceptable. Unknown to us, he sub-contracted the siding work to another company. These workers in the process of removing the hail damaged siding- hit the house so hard they pop the dry wall screws straight out on the interior walls. This would result in 1 wall in *5 different rooms to be damaged. I called Jason immediately and ask that he come and see the damaged. At first he said it was just something that occurs, but later would send me a letter to apologize for the damage these workers caused. I explained I would obtain several estimates to see how much it would cost to rescrew the dry wall/patch and repaint, one room has a custom sports theme paint job which I reminded him may be extra to repaint given the colors/designs needed to match the other walls. He asked if we would allow his painter to come in and provide estimate. We agreed. This person showed up with his 2 children, who proceeded to run through our home in/out of our chidren's bedrooms. The painter kept asking Jason if he could use 1 or 2 coats of paint. It was clear this painter would not be working for us but Jason. I decline the estimate and obtained 3 others. Jason emailed me back that he would only make this right if we used his painter. He was very rude about this in fact. While the prices varied it wasn't by much. I then emailed Jason explaining we would prefer to go through his commerical insurance and to please provide the information. We would later find out he has ZERO coverage for sub-contracting and he is fully responsible for paying this damage himself. He was notified of this information prior to us and yet still pretended he had coverage and that I needed to prove otherwise he didn't. The insurance company sent me a copy of the letter they sent him, so I had the proof. I sent him a certified letter requesting any and all information my insurance company would need to close out our original claim so that we (homeowners) could collect the money still owed to him. We would hold this money until our interior walls were repaired/repainted/restored to full again-- at this time months later he still refuses. We will have no other recourse but to allow the courts to deal with Jason. Upon his receiving our letter, he sent me email submiting a new bill that now included a new price for the shingles and that the upgrade was by our request so now we were responsible for. I followed up that with a copy of his text where he stated it was a "upgrade he chose to do for all his customers." This was the last communication I had with Jason. I will be filing for a court date later this week. *In effort for full discloser Jason received 10K upfront from the insurance company and there is about 4k still owed to him along with our deductible which we have not paid due to the damages done to our home. *Damage-Family room wall, Office Wall, 1/2 Bath Wall, Child's bedroom wall, Child's bedroom wall with custom painting, Master bath wall*
Description of Work: Jason was hired to replace our roof, 1 entire side of our house with siding and gutters along with a few other minor repairs.

Jason Thompson of GFC Restoration, LLC and I mutually agreed to have to remove and replace shingles and underlayment of the roof on my home. He requested that my insurance company do a second inspection to see if he could get any additional funds. Per our signed agreement the terms were that he was to receive a payment of $4000 from me as well as any additional funds that were received for the roof from the insurance company. The insurance company gave me an additional amount of $576.80 for the roof, as well as additional funds for other areas of the house. Mr. Thompson asked me to agree to give him 10% of the additional funds as well as the funds for the roof as he had expected to get $1800 more from them; I declined to his request and provided an email stating this and expressed that if he would like to withdraw his agreement to do the work to the roof that I understood. Mr. Thompson proceeded to complete the job of removing and replacing shingles and underlayment of my roof and completed the job on 07/11/14. On the evening of 07/11/14, Mr. Thompson came to my home and I gave him a check for $4576.80, he provided me with an emailed photo of my check and stated that it would be the only receipt that I would receive. I turned in necessary paperwork to my insurance company to receive the depreciation that was withheld from me on the insurance claim for the roof replacement. My insurance claim adjuster contacted Mr. Thompson on 07/15/14 and requested a paid receipt, Mr. Thompson declined stating that there was a dispute between myself and him (I was not aware of this). My roof looks amazing, but I would not recommend GFC Restoration, LLC to anyone that I know due to his lack of professionalism and shadiness.
