My family has been using Service First Heating and Air since they first started business in 1990- the owner Bryan, replaced the entire duct work and HVAC system in my brother's home in Bayview Farms, did the regularly scheduled maintenance work on my mom's HVAC on White Point Dr., and now is our go to person for our HVAC in Oak Terrace Preserve

Very disappointed in installation quality and Mr. Hunter's failure to correct a significant issue while under warranty. Due to an improper installation, the air handler unit in the attic leaked condensate out of the system in the attic and damaged the ceiling below. While well within the one year installation warranty, Mr. Hunter continued to improperly diagnose the issue as a clogged condensate drain. After two failed attempts to repair, the unit continued to leak condensate out of the air handler causing a continual headache and more ceiling damage. While trying to get him to repair, Mr. Hunter became belligerent and said he did not have time to deal with this crap, and hung up on the phone. An independent technician from a different Charleston HVAC company came to inspect and quickly determined the unit was missing the interior drip pan extension lip that should have been originally installed with the unit. The technician said the lip helps direct the condensate coming off the cooling coils into the internal drain pan which in turn directs it out the drain line. I paid over $385 out-of-pocket to have the missing part installed and the unit corrected; since then the unit has not experienced any issues. I really wanted to go with a small independent, but had a very unpleasant experience with Service Frist. Moving forward, I will go with a company that stands behind their work.

I initially went with another contractor to put in a new HVAC system, but my energy usage/costs were unusually high in the winter after installation (the installation had occurred in the summer and the AC worked okay).  I had SCEG do an energy audit and they said the HVAC was hooked up incorrectly.  I contacted the original contractor but he would not return my calls or emails.  I went with Brian Hunter (Service First) and he immediately found the problem.  My winter heating bill is now much more palatable.
