I was experiencing a problem with the attachment on my vacuum so I brought it back to the store I purchased it from for repair. I also planned on stocking up on bags and a HEPA filter while I was there. When I walked in I was greeted by a loud, smarmy man. I overheard his exchange with another customer and feared it would not be a pleasant experience. That is an understatement. When I explained the problem to him and the steps I had taken to correct it, he condescendingly informed me that I had done it wrong. I simply didn't know enough to take all of the pieces apart to clean it, "a common misconception". When he turned on the vacuum he informed me that the part had simply broken down over time like a car would. "I don't know about you but I want a new car after 5-7 years", he said. I wasn't convinced so he went on to assume that I hadn't had it serviced. I told him it had been serviced here in the past by another person. He proceeded to boast that he'd taken over ownership and his 33 years of experience was the best thing that ever happened to the place (I beg to differ). I wondered if perhaps the part could be fixed since I hadn't cleaned it properly? I put my hand on the brush of the attachment and pulled at some of the hairs that were still tangled on the brush at which point he viciously chastised me for getting dirt and hair on his rug. And when I say viciously, I mean it. I was absolutely stunned! I don't believe that I did get dirt and hair on the floor of his shop. Even if I had, I certainly didn't deserve to be spoken to like that. I was standing in a store surrounded by dozens of vacuums. I'm sure he does demonstrations for customers, would it have been so hard to vacuum the spot when I had left? If he had kindly joked and asked me to vacuum the spot, I probably would have. Needless to say, I walked out of the store while he sarcastically suggested that I have a good day. I absolutely believe in patronizing local businesses so I gladly would have purchased the part at his store after I had all the facts. Instead I spent $197.90 on a Turbo Brush, Hepa filter and bags from an online store and will continue to do so. This was the worst experience I have ever had as a customer and I wouldn't wish for anyone to have to deal with that man.
Description of Work: I brought my Miele vacuum originally purchased at the store in for servicing but no services were performed. I was treated so poorly by the owner of the store I walked out.

Vac. was under warranty from the company. Brought in for repair under warranty. Owner literally asked "Was this used commercially?", trying to imply that I was trying to pull a fast one and somehow get it fixed illegitimately. Took over 4 Weeks to get it back from the shop. Got unit home and suction wasn't full power. Switch to turn unit on and off was also permanently stuck in the ON position. Unit died 3 weeks later. Brought unit back - shop had changed owners. New owner tried pushing me off on the vac. company giving me a pitch on how the vacuum company doesn't pay him enough for the warranty repairs even though he was a so called "authorized dealer". New owner was a "fast talker" trying to make you think that he was going to try and help you. He said he'd "call his rep" and "see what he could do". Kept asking "why did you buy it online?" and implied if you didn't buy it local that it was the customers fault. Called me back and used the verbiage "sounds like the company is trying to wash their hands of you". Brought unit to another shop - fixed perfectly in a week. I would avoid this shop at all costs. Not a good customer experience at all!
Description of Work: Warranty Repair of vac. still under warranty. Power problem on unit. Handle issue with unit (replaced handle)
