John was extremely helpful and very pleasant. He was fast, efficient and neat. It was nice to have someone come in, do the job and not try to sell me some kind of long term contract ... which seems to be the thing nowadays. Additionally his charge was extremely reasonable and I learned a bit about plumbing. I plan on calling John for future problems and would refer my friends to him with no hesitation. Thanks.

He made sure that he got exactly the right stems. He is an interesting fellow. He is really of the old school plumbers. He figures things out and works out the problems. He usually works on time and materials basis. He is extremely responsive.

It went great. John and I scheduled a time. The work was done after a snow storm and getting up to the top of Stanton Heights was tough, but John was persistant. John had to do little carpentry as part of finding the leak. He was very considerate and polite, and seems like a good carpentar too! The gas meter needed to be removed and then the leak leak found. John used a bubble test and a handheld gas detector to determine where the leak was coming from. He explained the different possible outcomes as he was working. Luckily the work was only moderate in scope, and did not require tearing the ceiling apart. He did a nice job fixing the drain in the laundry room too. John seems like a master tradesman. I will request his servies again.

I was out of town when I received a phone call from a tenant that there "was something wrong under the kitchen sink with the hot water". Turns out the original connection from the metal pipe to the sink fixture was poor quality and had split. Add to that the local valve was so old it was frozen open, it was around 20:00, and the tenant didn't turn off the water to the house. Called Kanagroo and he was there in ~30 minutes. Replaced the failed valve and installed a new higher quality connection hose between the sink and the pipe. Also checked the water damage for me in the basement and did a quick investigation into the low flow problem in the house. All in all a quick professional quality job, I have definitely found my go to plumber for issues outside of my knowledge and while I'm out of town. Plan on having him back in the spring to replace a few valves I suspect are faulty.

Excellent experience--John returned my call in short order, arrived within an hour of my call, fixed both problems in under an hour and was a pleasure to work with.

I have called John after another plumber told me that there was a 50% chance of needing an expensive sink removal to replace the faucet which could cost me hundreds of dollars. The other plumber thought that the old faucet was installed in such a way as to be potentially difficult to replace. I have decided to consult with another plumber and called John, who scheduled an appointment for the next workday morning. John has never mentioned a potential problem such as cited by the first plumber, and just did the job. The cost looks reasonable to me.

Not only did the leak get fixed, but I was alerted to a potentially dangerous condition with my hot water tank (costing only $12 and a few minutes to fix). John also provided some free advice on other plumbing issues. The service was extremely friendly, punctual, and high quality. I will definitely use Kangaroo Plumbing again if I need a plumber.

This is a house that I lease to tenants. They have said the leak stopped and that John was "very nice." I hardly ever get good feedback about the servicemen I send over so he must have been pretty darn nice. (maybe Aussie accents just sound nicer... :>). I will say that after the last plumber experience I had about 2 years ago that I swore I'd never call another plumber again, but this time I feel everything was about right.

I live in an old home and have worked with John for ten years now. I can't recommend him highly enough. I am always pleased with the quality and timeliness of his work, which is why I keep asking him back. I rely on the people who work on my house to help me figure out my options. I find John utterly trustworthy and a very good communicator. John has completed several large jobs for me without delay and with helpful guidance. Most recently, John came on the coldest day we've had so far this winter - and on a Sunday - when my furnace went out and the heating contractor did not return my call for help. He got it working again even though heating is not his expertise. I don't imagine he is the least expensive but I do believe in the adage that you get what you pay for and paying for John is well worth it!

Everything was performed well and there has been no problems with the service just the price. He is a reliable guy and would use him again.

John arrived earlier than I had expected. He did the job quickly and with no fuss, and he was both courteous and entirely professional. I have used Jonh as my primary (and only) plumber for a number of years and I cannot say how pleased I have been with his work. He is hands down not only the best plumber I have ever used but the best workman as well.

The plumber (John) arrived within the time window he gave. He started with the bathtub faucet, taking it apart, showing me the corroded piece that needed replacing. Next, he went down to the basement and looked at the broken "puncture-style" knob for the line up the refrigerator. He suggested it be replaced by a better style fixture that could be installed by cutting the pipe and adding the fixture in between. Next, he had a look at the "Pittsburgh John", explaining that it might be better to replace it but he would try to fix it by replacing the valve at the bottom of the tank (and flapper) with a new one. He then left for a bit to go get parts, came back, and finished fixing everything. Just in general, he explained everything he was going to do before doing it, and everything he said made sense. All three fixes were done perfectly. The bathtub faucet works great now--actually a little better than before, since replacing the valve for the ice maker got rid of a blockage in the intake pipe to the hot water heater--and doesn't leak. The ice cube maker is making ice cubes for the first time. The 'Pittsburgh John' now flushes and refills perfectly. Also, he was a genuinely nice guy.

He was very friendly and professional. Work was originally scheduled for a Friday, when he came and took a look at the spigot he realized he didn't have the large drill necessary for enlarging the whole so we rescheduled for Monday. On Monday he called and asked me to reschedule to Tuesday as another customer had called him about an urgent water heater problem. These reschedulings weren't a big deal to me and I'm sure if I had needed it done on Friday, the original day, he would have gotten his drill and returned. He finished the job in about an hour, the work seems to be very good. I also asked him to take a look at a cabinet that were are planning to remove so we can install a dishwasher and he was happy to get down on the floor and give me some good recommendations on how we could accomplish this. I was very happy with the work and service and would easily recommend Kangaroo Plumbing to anyone.

I called Kangaroo, left a message and was contacted shortly after; told him what the problem was (out of control water bill from an elusive leak); he suggested watching the water meter to determine usage; seeing no movement indicating any water usage, I called PWSA who said the earlier corrective action (shutting of constantly running toilet) had been successful, but that the effect of it was still showing up in my bill, thus a second very high water bill, which should now return to normal.

I called Kangaroo plumbing and asked the owner if he installed toilets in old houses. I described the situation (broken cast iron flange which probably needed a heavy saw to remove), and he said he would be out the next day. He showed up (a tiny bit late, really no big deal) and got to work. He described what he was doing all the way. He finished installing the toilet after about 2 hours. It was extremely solid and well done. He took care to cleanup all the wax, even the wax build up from my previous failed attempt at toilet installation. It was a pleasure doing business with Kangaroo Plumbing. I would heartily recommend them in the future.

Terrific! He was so thorough and explained all of his work to me. Even though he was here for 2.5 hours and serviced four toilets and one faucet, he only charged $285. His work is high quality and his manner very professional.

We have an 80+ year old home with numerous problems. When I first called, John answered the phone himself, scheduled & when running late called to advise that he would be 15 minutes late. Work was neatly & professionally done at very reasonable cost.He did not hurry but did not waste time. He carefully explained to me & my wife what the problems were & showed us all the old parts which he replaced. He was mannerly and friendly. He will be doing more work for us, I promise.

Our kitchen began to leak water from the kitchen sink and i called kangaroo plumbing. He answered the call immediately. We set up a time for him to come. He came exactly when he said he would. He was professional, polite, knowledgeable, and very reasonable. We have actually already had him back again and had the same experience. I've never been more pleased with a plumber. He cleaned up after himself, he let me know right away what the potential costs would be, checked in to see if I wanted him to correct a problem that he had identified and made the entire process easy and seamless. I would use him again and would highly recommend his services.

My experience with Kangaroo Plumbing was excellent. John answered the phone immediately - a live person first time you call - a rare occurrence. He checked out the problem the next morning, repaired the leak, cleaned out a drain and replaced a spigot. The price was good, the work was good, John was very pleasant and easy to deal with.

John's arrival was delayed twice, but he kept me informed of his schedule (in hindsight I'm sure he was making sure that customer's job was done to perfection.). Not only was the work professional and speedy, but John turned out to be a great guy and we had a wonderful chat as he went about his business. For the first time since the sink was installed everything is tight, leak-free and sealed. John was the first plumber to identify the problems with the initial installation and correct them rather than just add more patches. He explained what was needed and why before proceeding and then completed the work quickly and professionally. John even took some extra steps to prevent future problems.
