My heater died last Thursday evening. I spoke with an HVAC pro the next day that had installed a new system for my neighbor a couple years ago. He actually quoted a higher quality unit then the one I currently have (age 21 years). I verified the $6800 out the door price for my one bedroom condo was not only competitive, but below market according to a friend who had his own HVAC company for many years. When I asked him about fixing the unit he said he doesn't really get involved in MacGyvering broken units that are that old. At the same time he tells me that if he installs the new unit it would be his "baby" and he would guarantee it and service it. This completely confused me. I figured instead of MacGyvering it, come out like a Pro and try to fix it like Pat from PSD Heating and Cooling in Schwenksville PA did. I called Pat on Friday morning and he was able to schedule a $75 service visit first thing Saturday morning. He said parts would be additional but that was all. He showed up on time and wore booties although I already had drop cloths laid over my carpet. He diagnosed it immediately as being the fan motor capacitor and he went to his truck to get one. He was done in 15 minutes for only $225 my problem was solved and the heat was on. He said that because I turned off the heat as soon as I smelled a burning smell I likely salvaged the blower motor. The quick math would tell me he saved me $6600. I've already referred him to 2 of my neighbors and he's coming out in 2 days to tune up one of their systems. Quality, honest work is difficult to find. I must say I chose Pat based on internet reviews and the fact that he's not a large company. He's the owner and he came and did the work himself; not some kid a couple years out of trade school. I am extremely grateful for what Pat did for me after just having to replace a fridge and a water heater in the last 2 months.

We were having issues with our A/C unit, so we reached out, and Pat was very responsive and was able to come to our home the same day to diagnose the issue and make repairs. We had a failing capacitor and a leak somewhere which resulted in low refrigerant. At the time he was unable to track down the leak due to moisture, but he refilled the refrigerant to get us back up and running, and will be coming back to track down the leak for additional repairs once the unit dries out. We were very pleased with the service, and he even reached out several hours later to make sure the A/C unit was still working correctly and our house was cooling down, which we very much appreciated. We will definitely use PSD Heating & Cooling in the future.

The contractor was punctual, professional, and the work was completed quickly. I feel like Pat is someone trustworthy. The price was reasonable. I would definitely hire him again.

Pat was extremely professional and took the time to quote and review all of our options and potential risks with us. We had not discussed repair over the phone and did not have the parts with him on hand and when we decided to go that route he offered to run back to his shop and get what he needed to perform the repairs and maintenance right away. He was wonderful to work with, trustworthy and someone we will call again in the future.

I've had Pat out 3 times now. Everytime he was on-time, thorough, and engaging to describe the work needed as well as recommendations. All the visits were for small repairs and maintenance. Although my unit is over 20years, and he recommends replacement, there was never any pressure, just information to consider. Very pleased and confident. Last week, came home to a chilled house. Immediately contacted Pat and next day he was there first thing. Much better to deal with an owner-operator than a large company. Pat is responsive and knows that superior customer service is the key to repeat business. When it's time to replace the full unit, Pat will get priority when considering who does the work.

Pat is punctual and professional. He gives good information on the work he is proposing. The work area is clean and neat when his work is completed.

Pat was amazing! He was super helpful and cooperative. He sent us photos of the work being done and he didn't require us to be home from work while he installed. He gave us a quote and came by the house to meet me and then again to meet my husband because he had questions. He gave us advice on what was best for us and our house, and not what was the most expensive. He also said he'd Facetime with us and show us how to work all the valves and what everything does since we get home late. After this experience, I definitely plan to hire Pat again if we ever need anything done. And will definitely be recommending him to everyone!

Patrick completed the work in time to our satisfaction. He was very professional and offered good advise on some questions I had relative to improving climate control.

A/C was not maintaining cool temps so called in our fuel co. to assess and repair (we have a service contract w/ them). The first visit cost an arm and a leg just to recharge sys and put a diagnostic tool in place to find the Freon leak, that he said needed 2wks to work. After 10 days, we were back to no A/C at all (Freon gone again) but he couldn’t come out for another 7 days (90+ temps every day and no sleep at night in that heat)!! Finally came out and told us it would cost the other arm and leg to fix and I'd have to schedule the fix for a day the following week - meaning more sleepless nights and uncomfortable days. Instead, I Googled and saw PSD had great ratings and was local, so I gave them a call. Pat came out within an hour and a half that same day, assessed the issue, and presented a much more reasonable quote for actually fixing the AC which he said he could do the next day. Once we agreed on the work, he said he could try to move some other jobs to get it done even earlier because we’d been w/o A/C so long. Pat was able to get the part we needed and be back to start the job 2 hours later. Completed the fix and our A/C was back in business less than 2 hrs. after he started the work. Pat was very personable, professional, and trustworthy through the whole process. Explained and showed me everything he was doing along the way. What a difference from the other experience!! I'm cancelling our service contract with the fuel co., and will never call anyone other than Pat at PSD if the A/C acts up again! First good night of sleep in almost two weeks in our (once again) cool house. Thanks PSD/Pat!! 5 stars.

It went great. Fixed the air in less than an hour. Gave estimates for work to be done. Very friendly and he was a god send to come when I needed him to come. Was very thankful for the repair and the quick response in this heat right now. Very happy!!

Pat fit us in the next morning. He evaluated our unit and provided his recommendations. We opted to replace the motor which he was able to do the same day. We went out for the day, came home and noticed that while the unit was running the house had not cooled off. We called Pat and he was back out at 8am the following morning. He assessed the unit and made a few adjustments. Pat stayed long enough to ensure that the temperature dropped several degrees. A few hours later the unit stopped running and the temperature rose again. Pat was still local so he was back over shortly to assess again. After taking the unit apart and evaluating everything he determined that the motor was faulty. He got the part and returned the next morning to replace. He again stayed to make sure the temperature dropped several degrees in the house and then texted several times during the day to make sure all was working well. I feel like this was a very frustrating/puzzeling job, but throughout all this, Pat remained very friendly and professional and arrived promptly when he said he would each time. He did not charge for any additional time or labor. We we definitely hire him again and will be recommending him to others.

Pat and his team were awesome, yet again! We came home from vacation to find it 83 degrees in our house. The thermostat said it was running but nothing was happening. Found a small pool of water around our HVAC unit in the basement and immediately called Pat. They were at our house in a matter about an hour and had the blower motor replaced a few hours later after going to get the part. I will definitely use Pat and his team again!

Pat was wonderful. He answered my call right away (even on a holiday) and came out the next day. He was very professional and thorough.

I needed to replace an air-conditioning system that was old and almost non functional. Pat was recommended to me by a friend for this job. I checked with other contractors before, so when Pat gave me his plan and his estimated price, I could tell right away that he knows his business well and is asking for a faire price. The job went well and on time. In addition to an air-condition installation, Pat also installed a floor on my attic for easy access, raised pipes for a better flow, and made sure that there are safety measures. We had to make a few adjustments after the install and Pat was in my house within 1 hour from my text to him. It’s good to know that someone cares and takes pride in his work and I can count on him for anything that will be needed regarding my air-conditioning needs. I know he will be there when I will need him.

Excellent experience. Pat was here less than 2 hours from our first conversation, and finished up the job in about an hour. He was professional, prompt, clean, knew his stuff, and was about half the price quoted by another contractor.

Everything went well and Pat didn't try to add things I didn't need.
