Dealing with Staab was very easy. Their price was less than most of the other quotes I received, but not cheaper than all of them. They offered a very reasonable solution - unlike one company that was suggesting some "booster fans" that made not sense whatsoever. I felt that they offered very honest advice. They did the work as scheduled and were very respectful of my home. There was a problem with the unit. They were responsive when I called. They helped me reset the unit using the control panel. The problem turned out to be defective part that the manufacturer was just learning was a problem. Once the part was replaced, I haven't had a single problem. It won't be a while before I need a furnace and a/c, but I'd recommend Staab & Sons to anyone else.

Stabb was one of five estimates we received to replace our 25 year old furnace. Not only did the owner come to give us the estimate but he walked through the entire process but also the why and how. He gave us several options. The price was reasonable and the service prompt and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and when we requested a return visit on one thing they came out immediately and corrected the problem. Stabb will be replacing our 30 year air conditioner this year. We have recommended them to 3 other parties - all have used their services and been completely satisfied. We highly recommend.

This visit was a mixed bag. My appointment was for between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., supposedly the first call of the day. Two service members came separately, the first at 10:00 a. m. after apprising me that he would be late. My wife and I had arisen early to be ready for this visit on our day off and we had plans for the day. The late arrival inconvenienced us and wasted our time. The individuals could not have been more courteous, respectful, and friendly to me and my wife and I have complete faith in their competence and knowledge. I did not know until the second worker came through the door that this job would require two people, and I did not learn until the bill was being calculated that I was to be assessed an $89 service call fee for the plumber and a $16 travel fee for the furnace specialist. The labor rate is a whopping $89 per hour for both individuals, not a flat fee as I have enjoyed with other furnace inspections. The furnace technician charged for every minute that he was in my home, 1 and 3/4 hours. Much of that time was spent chatting and engaging in small talk, which I enjoyed, but which I did not realize I was paying through the nose to engage in. I calculate that I paid about $40 for conversation. This is not fair. I suppose I should avoid being so friendly and receptive to conversation when a service person is in my home in the future. The furnace inspection and filter installation cost $200, far more than I have ever paid for this service. The cost of my prior inspection, performed by another competent heating company, and including filter, was less than $100. I received a $45 discount per website promotion, but this did little to salve the shock of a bill of this magnitude, a great deal of money to me. If money is no object to a customer, this company is excellent in most respects. If value and fair pricing is important, as it is for me, I cannot recommend it. I do not expect to be using its services again. Three days after performance of the service, I received a receipt in the mail for the $561.86 credit card charge. It was addressed to me with my last name only: so much for courtesy and respect for the customer. Epilogue: I am shocked by the inadequacy of the company's response (below) and its failure to address me directly rather than through Angie's List only. First, I was not notified by Michael that two technicians with separate service charges would be coming nor advised of the service charges (two) or labor rate. Additionally, the company fails to address the $40 I paid for conversation with technician Tony, who charged for every minute he was in the home, including the lengthy amount of time spent chatting. If Staab's response to legitimate complaint is no response, then this is not the company I believed it to be and a good reputation is undeserved. I will be informing friends and acquaintances of how Staab does business. I will not enable myself to be taken advantage of again by contacting Staab for any additional service. Finality: Company Action: Mike Staab contacted me to discuss the matter. He offered to send me a check for $40 to compensate me for the time for which I was charged in which I was engaged in chatting with the technician about matters entirely unelated to the work. I told Mr. Staab that this remedy would be acceptable to me. I consider myself a savvy consumer, but this was a learning experience. In the future, I will try not to be so accessible and chatty with a technician in my home and if I am not told of service charges and labor fees, I will ask in advance of the visit. I will also try to determine in advance whether one technician or more than one is going to be performing the work, and if more than one, whether separate charges will be incurred.

The pilot light on our hot water tank kept going out. We called Staab in the morning and the plumber was here in the afternoon. He ordered a part and came back the next day to install. Very professional and work was very good. Plumber was excellent.

Called to set up an estimate on Friday and Matthew was able to come out that Monday. He was very nice and very reassuring. The job was going to be difficult because of where my house is located and the fact that I have many trees but he said that 'it was his job to figure it out'. After a few days, when I still hadn't heard from him regarding the estimate, I called. The receptionist told me she knows he was working on it and would call or email me. That call or email never came. I called 2 more times with no response. Even if he didn't want to do the job, he should have been professional and told me. I was having major sewer issues and was waiting on estimates but I was just ignored. I will never call this company again. I was very disappointed.

They were good and came when they said they would. They have a decent price and were good; I recommend them.

We needed our furnace repaired because it wasn't blowing warm air. We called another company that quoted us a price that seemed way out of line. We called Staab and they arrived within two hours to perform the repair. The price was also 1/3 the price quoted by the other company. The technician was professional, worked quickly and got us up and running with a minimum of inconvenience. They did a great job, and we'll call them first the next time we need HVAC service.

I don’t have any comparisons with any other plumbers. They were polite and clean. They were cautious. My sink fixture was brass so they were cautious not to scratch it when they moved it. He put duct tape around it and he explained why he was doing it. He explained to me that it was really tight and he couldn't remove it with the tank and that was good. It was the first time I used a plumber so I am not sure if the price was reasonable or not, moreover my husband was the one who hired them so I am not sure if he price shopped or not. I think if you are plumber you should get all your stuff with you but he kept going out to his car to get stuff and he was paid by the hour. He came in with one thing and kept going up and down to the car so he kept going up and down. If you are surgeon you come in with all your tools and you don't keep moving in and out of the operation theater. I was wondering whether he had a tool box to rummage through. He would go back to the car for every piece and part. We plan to get a new toilet so we plan to get it from another company and get them to install it.

They came out several times, but the quality of their response wasn?t good. They were nice and gave me some wine when they came out. The person who came out called the service manager and wanted me to pay the bill that he had sent me. He wanted to come out and rectify a problem with the furnace. It was a horrible experience. I said I didn't want them in my house. I haven't used them again.

I was very pleased with their work. They were able to install the AC and get it running the first day, which was great since it was quite hot. They finished the work in a day and a half. They also worked on improving my return ducts at no additional cost. One needed opened up (it had never been cut through), and they sealed some other ducts that had openings. They took care of the rebate from the manufacturer, and I received it in a few weeks. They helped me fill out the state rebate form as well. I can only comment on the AC at this point - it runs very quiet and I know it is more energy efficient.

I've been really happy with this company's work. They've always been extremely responsive and have scheduled service calls within a day or two (usually the next day). They are always on time and are good enough to call me at work with a 30-minute "heads up" so I don't have to wait at home for them. The plumbers are very polite and clean up after themselves, and I believe their prices are fair.

They quoted a good price after I had two other estimates. They did a good job. The main reason I went with them was because my neighbor had recommended them to me; they did a good job and the price was good.

We called to schedule an appointment over a holiday weekend and spoke with an answering service We requested a plumber for the day after the holiday and were told that we would receive a phone call that day. The plumber called us in the morning and gave us an estimate for what time he would arrive. He actually arrived early, but called to make sure that was okay. He replaced the pipes quickly and we haven't had any problems since.
