This is the second time I have used Staab & Sons and I would use them again and again... they are ALL the things we hope for when calling for help: reliable, capable, friendly, professional, and willing to charge a fair and reasonable price for their work. I was worried about some strange sounds coming from our outdoor AC unit, and purchased the Angie's List promotional AC check up from Staab & Sons. They came out to check our system the very same day, and sure enough found some melted wires and a a faulty connector inside the unit. Parts were on the truck and a repair was made, at a very fair price, right there on the spot! MEANWHILE, as the work was being done, an outdoor spigot decided to just go haywire - -leaking, spurting water everywhere, and refusing to shut off for me. Timing is everything, perhaps, as thankfully parts we also on the truck for that small repair and again, Staab to the rescue! The spigot was replaced quickly and again at a completely fair price, all in one trip. Besides the friendly and competent professionals who have showed up to help me both times I called Staab & Sons, I really like the great service you receive when you call in for help,AND the follow up call Staab makes to ensure you are satisfied and "all set" with the services rendered. This is just a solid group of folks looking to perform great work. Call them without hesitation!

Provider showed up early. She inspected the kitchen sink and bath tub knob. Replacing the kitchen sink, she then moved onto the bath tub knob. Determining that the bath tub was a specialized unit requiring a specialized manufactured part, she found a reasonable compromise, installed a locally purchased part. So far the tenant has not reported any problems of leaking or ineffectiveness.

They were super professional. Scheduled easily, called before coming and were on time and ready to work.

the Furnace would stop running off and on. If reset would work for a varied amount of time and have to get reset again. We replaced the thermostat in hopes that was the issue. Still had same problem. Had Staab & Sons come out on an after hours service call. Tech said he hooked up and did diagnostics and furnace was fine. He then proceeded to the thermostat. He said we were having issues because the "C" wire was connected. This still did not explain why the same issue with first thermostat. Following week called and spoke to manager as the issue was never resolved. Was told that it was not a problem to come out and I would not be charged again. (unless parts & addl labor necessary). The second tech came out. DID NOT EVEN GO DOWNSTAIRS TO LOOK AT FURNACE. Went right to thermostat. In short, said i had it programmed wrong. Which is not a true statement. He set up scheduling and said that was the issue. I explained to the gentleman I work in the tech field and am familiar with technology and what he was explaining was not adding up. I asked, well if the furnace is not staying on because of "scheduling" then why was I having the same EXACT issue with the old one? His response was that "you must have programmed that one wrong also". OK so that thermostat was on for YEARS and all of a sudden didn't like how it was "programmed"??? Also, said the new thermostat i purchased was too "new" for my furnace. He then was trying to teach me how to use the thermostat. At that point we paid him so he would leave. Yes, i had to pay. According to the tech it was because he "programmed" the thermostat. I still had issue. Had a new company come out, within 5 minutes found the problem and fixed it. The issue was that the flame sensor was dirty. Cleaned it, the furnace stopped error out and no longer have issues. I am extremely displease with their customer service and knowledge. I feel as if they really didn't want to take the time to LISTEN and troubleshoot. This is NOT how you run a business. I'd want to request a FULL REFUND for the unsuccessful services that i paid for. I think thats fair. I do not have an issue showing job receipt from new contractor as proof. This will also get reported to the BBB. I have never experience such horrible service/treatment.

EXCELLENT experience with this provider... I called on a Friday afternoon about 10 minutes before their phones were closed for the day with a "Help! I need a new water heater by tomorrow!" and Fabian and Elizabeth quickly jumped in to help solve my problem. Around noon on Saturday, the work began. This included draining and removal of the old unit, replacement with a new tank, and even some work to make sure the new pipes fit properly as the new tank was slightly larger than what we had before. Important to note: I had talked to another large local plumbing company who told me this very repair would cost $3300 PLUS a brand new expansion tank. They told me "you always have to replace the expansion tank when you get a new water heater and those are $350 installed." So I'd be at $3650 with this other provider. I asked Fabian about the expansion tank needing replacement and he said "only if the one you have isn't working, and I will test it. If it needs replaced, that will be $60 installed." $350 vs. $60! Look online. Expansion tanks cost about $40. So this shows you just how fair and reasonable Staab & Sons is... they simply are not looking to gouge the customer and feed on a homeowner's lack of understanding. (My expansion tank was fine, by the way, and Fabian showed us how to test it so we can tell if it DOES start to fail. Great service!) Fabian was on time, extremely friendly, tidy, and efficient. We are so happy with the work and would call Staab & Sons without hesitation for services in the future. A+!

The most recent service involved checking and cleaning all furnace components and replacing the humidifier pad..

Terrible. I called him 5 times, even spoke with the owner and no one every called me back.

Went ok. Service took an hour and the maintenance person talked through his process and recommended ways to improve life of unit.

They came out during the same time when I bought the deal and I didn't spend anything extra. They showed up on time and they did a good job of taking care of my furnace.

They were very easy to work with. scheduling was easy, they were on time, and did a fine job. We have used them in the past and will continue to use them in the future.

These guys are excellent. We had them service our plumbing, maintain furnace and even replaced our furnace. They are however on the expensive side. They are very professional, helpful and excellent quality. The owner Mike Staab is also very helpful and reliable. Its not fun when furnace goes out in the middle of the winter, but I called them, they scheduled us and within a few hours they fixed the problem. This happened a few times. Finally, we got a new furnace from them. A few years back, the drain pipe in our kitchen was clogged, we called Gillece as Staab was not available that Saturday. When Gillece failed to show up after four hours of waiting from the time of appointment, I cancelled their appointment and called Staab. They came on next Monday and fixed the problem. When this occurred again, we called Staab directly. They came and fixed the problem. Like I said, they charge is a bit more, but the work is fantastic and very professional. I will use them again and again.

Ray arrived on time (punctuality is very important to me) to provide an estimate for new central a/c and some duct work. Although it was not the least expensive estimate I received, I chose Staab & Sons based primarily on Ray's knowledge and professionalism. He explained the scope of work and gave me a preliminary estimate off the top of his head which turned out to be very close to the one they emailed a day or two later. The crew who did the work were also very knowledgeable and well skilled. They really did a nice job and finished a day earlier than anticipated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ray and his crew to anyone in need of HVAC work. The young lady in the office is also very pleasant.

Everyone I dealt with at Staab and Sons was very professional. The woman who manages the phones and schedules the work was pleasant and forthcoming with information, and the plumber who was sent to our house was pleasant and professional also. He informed me of exactly what the problem was and what was required to fix it and then did so efficiently.

It could not have gone better. We got an estimate of the work, they showed up on time, they completed the work in less time then we thought and the final price was actually lower than the estimate. The quality appears to be very good. We wish had done this work long ago. The faucets, valves, and expansion tank were not broken, just old & worn. You would not believe the increase in water pressure from these few changes. We've had other plumbers in over the years to address a low water pressure issue in some faucets and none of them ever found a cause for it. Staab toke care of it on the first try and told us why the water pressure had slowed down. If anyone has an older home and is experiencing any low water pressure problems, bring Staab in to replace any old valves and/or faucets and I bet you will see a big difference. No only are they very good at what they do, you will not find any nicer people. Their plumber Cliff was a perfect gentleman and took the time to cover up the carpet & anything else that might have been affected. Elizabeth in the office makes you feel like you're her new best friend and she would like to send someone over to your house to help out with any problems you might have. I guess it all starts at the top though because my wife met Ray Staab a few weeks back to get estimates on replacing our furnace and air conditioner and said he was by far the nicest of the 3 companies we got estimates from. Although quality and price are important factors in determining who to use when spending $6,000 - $7,000 dollars on your HVAC, doing business with someone you are comfortable with and inviting them into your home is a big factor too. Since they did such great work on our $700 worth of plumbing issues, guess who is going to get our business on the $7,000 worth of HVAC work? I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Starts off on Friday when my furnace quit. I called at 9 and had a tech at the house by 3:30. Stew was able to diagnose the problem within a few mins and then found the parts needed. Unfortunately, the parts alone were over $1100 without adding in the labor. Since the furnace was almost 30 years old and I've never been one for polishing something for no reward we decided to replace. I talked with Mr.Staab on Monday and also decided to replace the hot water heater since the old one was showing it's age. Brandon and Bill arrived at 9am the next day and within 4 hours had both jobs professionally finished, including clean-up and were pulling out of the driveway. I've used Staab and Sons in the past and have NO trouble calling them back and have recommended them several times.

Staab was on time and thorough. Gave the furnace and surrounging duct work a good looking over. Cleaned the furnace and let me know that I needed a new filter. Offered to have me purchase one through them. I declined the filter as I could get another at a better price elsewhere. But I liked that it was offered! Convenience! Furnace guy was very friendly, meticulous and helpful!! On time and quick! They were in and out in about 45 minutes!

So the old AC was shot - tired of putting pounds of Freon it it to get thru the season. Time for a new unit. After doing research I found that in order to get the higher efficiencies, you need to replace the Furnace and AC as the 'brains' that gets you the savings are in the Furnace and Thermostat. Settled on 3 main brands (Carrier, Bryant, Trane) and added another (Rheem) as a lower end option. I used Angie's list to get the Carrier and Bryant Dealers. I knew both a Rheem and Trane dealer from prior experience. I called and got quotes from Caruso, Metro, Wade, Staab, S Hills Plumbing, Woodruff and Smith. I called one other Bryant Dealer (twice) but never got a call back so they missed the cut right away. So for Staab here goes - Called and got an immediate appointment. Ray Staab came on time and looked over my situation. I got a rough estimate while he as here and then his quote the next day I also had the above mentioned companies provide quotes. Eliminate all Staab and one other based of major price variance (1K+ higher for similar gear). Worked with Tony to get to an acceptable package price which included a new 17 SEER AC unit 96.5% Furnace, Humidifier and Air Cleaner, extended labor agreement. Scheduled Install date - he estimated 2 days for the job - at a date time less than 2 weeks out that worked for both of us. Install day - All I can say is 'wow' - at 9:05am the first of 4 vans rolled up and they promptly got to work. Tony gave them direction and reviewed the plan for the install. By 4pm I had a new working AC and Furnace. All that was left to do was a bit of cleanup, humidifier connections and final inspection. Tony and one of his guys came back the next day for the last bit of work and by noon I was done. And does this unit make a difference....
