For the estimate, the Staab representative arrived promptly on time. He did a thorough check of the existing setup for the boiler (70 years old?) and chimney. The estimate was in line with what I was expecting for this type of work, and Staab had done good work for people we know. For the actual work, the crew arrived promptly on time and went right to work. They rolled out cloth coverings over the carpeted areas, and helped me remove a couple of items that were still too close to the work area. Throughout the entire process, they were also careful to not step on the newly planted flowers outside of the basement door. There were two people working most of the time, but when the main part of the old boiler was to be removed, it proved to be too large and heavy, so they called in a third person to make sure the removal went smoothly. The old boiler was such a beast, that just removing it took a good portion of the first day and a bigger truck on the second day. Installation of the new boiler proceeded after the old one was removed. Installation was completed on the second day, and the chimney liner was installed (40+foot high) for a separate repair related to the tap water heater. The job was completed professionally, and all debris were removed. Before leaving, I was shown how to operate the thermostat and new boiler unit. From my perspective, everything went smoothly, and the finished results look good. The Staab people were all friendly on the phone and in person. I would definitely hire them again.

Tech came promptly, and evaluated the problem. She cleaned the thermocouple assembly rather than replacing it, because she wanted to save us money. It seemed to do the job, and she stayed for an hour to verify. But later that evening, it quit again. So the next day she came back and replaced the assembly, and charged us a very fair price for the labor both times. She was very thorough and professional. We'd definitely call Staab again.

Perfect! My furnace stopped working Saturday evening December 23 at 10 pm. After doing internet search I called the 24 hr service number for Staab and sons. The phone was promptly answered by a woman who took my information and not 5 minutes later Jim called with details on cost estimate. He showed up 30 minutes later and found the problem in just a few minutes. Considering the hour I thought the cost was very reasonable. I will certainly use them in the future for heating and air conditioning issues. Very professional team from start to finish.

Rich was on time and very professional. He did a great job cleaning and checking our furnace. He also installed both the furnace filter and humidifier pad. He adjusted the humidifier so it would not longer leak (the technician last year, from another company, changed something and we had a lot of water running around). He quickly and efficiently installed our Nest Thermostat. I have several projects in mind and I plan on using Staab & Sons again.

27 year old A/C died in the heat of the summer. Furnace wasn't far behind so got a good quote for a whole new system and they were able to get to the job quickly. Showed up on time and performed the job, as expected. Explained the system when they were done and cleaned up. Employees were friendly and were not subs. Had a small problem with the thermostat a few months later and they came out to replace it on a Saturday, very responsive. Would hire again.

They came back and did some work on it so we could be running in the wintertime. They came back when we got the parts we needed for the furnace and they fixed it up. It was wintertime, of course that's when the furnace always goes out. It waits until the winter. They are very professional. They gave us some insight and said everything should work properly and it did until they came out with the part they really needed. And, knock on wood, it has been working fine ever since. They were right on. They always call us and tell us they care going to be coming out, you know, whenever we have a contract. They call, set up the time and everything else. They are reliable and do their job. The whole company -- anybody that has come and we have contact with -- usually it might be the same person, maybe not, but they are all professional -- every single one of them. They treat you with respect. They are professional.

Experience was poor. I communicated what seemed to be the obvious problem to Staab's representative when I scheduled the service call. However, their plumber Fabian, claimed that the water pressure in the home was at 140psi and recommended replacing the pressure reducing valve on the water meter in order to regulate the home's water pressure. He did not attempt to replace the hot water tank's pressure relief valve. Admittedly, I was skeptical because the water meter and pressure reducing valve had been replaced by the water company not long ago and the water pressure from all faucets was normal and certainly not at the level that one would experience if it were at 140psi. But, I had used Staab in the past and naively relied on their plumber to know what he was doing. I paid $384.30 for those services. I noticed no difference in the water pressure coming from the faucets and showers than before Fabian replaced the valve (and supposedly regulated the psi from 140 to 75) and communicated that to him. He noted on the receipt that if the relief valve on the water heater continued to pop, then Staab would have to install a thermal expansion tank and replace the relief valve. No explanation as to why he didn't do that to begin with. A couple of hours later, I noticed water leaking again from the overflow pipe. I called Staab back that same day, but it was after 5:00 pm and I had to rely on an answering service to take the call. Eventually, another Staab plumber (Hannah) was dispatched to my home, but not until around 9:00 pm. Hannah quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem and installed an expansion tank and new relief valve [which was what I had suspected as the problem from the beginning]. Staab charged me another $92.00 for labor, but the Service Manager thought he was doing me a favor by not charging the after-hours emergency fee. The expansion tank was sold to me at cost, but I still ended up paying Staab another $129.45 for the second service call. Over the next two days, my husband called Staab three times during normal business hours requesting twice to speak to the Service Manager and once to the owner to discuss Fabian's misdiagnosis and to request a refund for the unnecessary replacement of the pressure reducing valve. Neither individual was apparently able to speak with him at the times he called, and they didn't return his requests to call him back. Although, I'd recommend their plumber, Hannah in a heartbeat, I will not use Staab for future services. Neither the service manager nor the owner returned my husband's phone messages to discuss the misdiagnosis and the payment for an unneeded pressure reducing valve. Staab should not have charged me anything for the second visit once it was recognized that Fabian did not accurately diagnose and correct the problem during the initial service call.

Very fair price, excellent communication and very professional. They were punctual and efficient. It took approximately two days. I have already recommended them to a friend.

I couldn't afford the repair cost.about 22-24hours after the guy opened and looked into my furnace it on and off keeps making a buzzing sound. When I called rick(the tech) and told him . He was defensive didn't take any responsibility.and used profanity.he made sure that the owner heard his side of the story before I could speak with him. He kept repeating that he wouldn't send someone out unless I agreed to pay before he would send someone . I know his reviews are good but if they change it has to start sometime.please use other companies also this is stressing out my dog and I may have to take her to the vet. The only variable is rick opening my furnace none of these problems happened before

Staab and Sons did an excellent job with removal and installation of a new high efficiency boiler and hot water tank for us. The guys were professional and installed a great looking system for us. They kept our home clean through the process and cleaned up better than it was when finished. I would recommend Staab and sons to my friends and family in the future and we will be using them for our future heating and cooling needs as well. Thanks to Jim and Brandon
