Eric came out and did full diagnosis of our furnace which was not functioning. We knew from a previous diagnostic visit that it was likely the pressure switch that needed replacing. Eric spent a lot of time with the furnace to be sure of the problem, which turned out to be the pressure switch. He left and came back promptly with the part and quickly completed the labor. They charged us 311 for the part and labor and 89 for the service call. A larger local company recently quoted us 600 for this service and part which we declined, so this was much better by comparison. I would use their service again or consider a service plan with this company.

Overall they did a great job and everything runs fine. The way its put together it looks solid (no rattling duct work). From the very beginning they voiced their concerns with the chimney and the potential that they might not be able to run new tubing in it. I love that they were honest with us so that there would be no surprises when something didn't go as planned. Unfortunately they were not able to run a new tubing so they vented out the side of the house. With that they told me that I should invest in a new water heater because the tubing that is in the chimney is now improperly sized. I was appreciative of their recommendations as we are first time home owners. (add that one to the never ending fix-it list) During the installation things tended to get a little messy, but not a deal breaker for me to use them again. The total installation was about 4 days straight. The gentlemen worked diligently and were very friendly even when all my dog would do is bark at them. I would recommend them again as they were very knowledgeable and diligent workers.

John Phillips arrived promptly to give me an estimate of the cost. At first he suggested two different models but discovered that the footprint of one of the models would make it inappropriate for the small area in which it would be installed. He also suggested reconnecting the gas piping with a new shutoff valve. And he suggested installing a moisture sensing switch in the existing pan. On the installation day, his employee arrived promptly and completed the work quickly and efficiently. He hauled away the old furnace and installed the new one, with the new gas piping and moisture sensing switch in a few hours. He also cleaned up the debris. Both John and his employee were polite, pleasant, and professional.

Provided service as requested, were very prompt and courteous.

Excellent overall. Very easy to schedule though they give you a 3 hour window in am or pm and will give you a call about 30-60 minutes. Would be nice if we can get a scheduled time. Its understandable that its not easy to do but another company I have used offers it. Other than that, every thing went smoothly. The service guy was clean and professional. Spent the time needed to do the job properly. I have used this company several times for other jobs. Always a great experience.

I really wish I could give Phillips an A, but this did not go well. It was a difficult job: furnace and coil in a tight space in my 3rd-floor apartment, compressor on the roof (9th floor), with the elevator only going to the 8th floor so everything had to be carried up one flight and then lifted over a 4-foot railing. I had been given an installation date but asked to be moved up if possible. The installers arrived several days before they were scheduled. Nobody had called to let me know, but fortunately I was home and available. The initial installation took two days, as I was told it would. By the next day I noticed that the air conditioning was not working. Phillips sent a young technician who said the system had overheated and could not be diagnosed, but that the problem was probably a faulty part supplied by Carrier. Phillips already knew about this potential problem. The next day the young technician came again, with a partner. They replaced the faulty part but despite spending the whole day were not able to get the system working. I called again the next morning, and Phillips immediately sent their senior technician, who spent several hours getting the system working properly. Phillips was extremely responsive and professional throughout. Although I wish they had sent someone more experienced the first time the problem arose, I can understand that they thought it was just a matter of replacing a part. And although I wish they had not installed a part they knew might be faulty, I can understand why they would want to try it first. Despite the problems with this installation, I would use Phillips again.

I have been trying to call to have them come back and replace a vent that they told me they would replace I have left 3 messages and no one will call me back.

It turned out very well. They were very thorough. The price was as expected.

I purchased an offer of two furnace cleanings for $89. They somehow thought I was only entitled to one cleaning, even though I told them I own a duplex with two furnaces and needed them both to be cleaned when I made the appointment. The service tech only allotted enough time to clean one of the furnaces, and the second one remains uncleaned to this day.

From initial phone contact, through the estimate visit to installation, everyone at Phillips was friendly, professional and efficient. Their staff was gloriously punctual for both appointments. The estimate was done quickly and very detailed on what was included and what wasn't. Their installers were fantastic - arrived right on time and just kept working for the next 5-6 hours on the installation of the unit, the coils and adjustments to the furnace/duct work and new thermostat, and gave complete explanations of all their work. We requested four different companies supply an estimate to us. Three managed to do so. Phillips was the lowest priced estimate, but that is not why we selected them: it was a combination of the brand (Carrier), professionalism and service orientation of their staff that sold us on their estimate. I would highly recommend Phillips for any HVAC need and will use them again in the future.

Everything went well the tech found a wire that was burned and was able to fix it but he did tell me if this would happen again it will be cheaper to get a new air conditioner cause the wire that was burnt came from the compressor. As of today 07-06-14 so far everything seems to be up and running.

The serviceman arrived on time and provided the services described in the coupon I purchased. It appeared to be a thorough inspection/tune-up, and after it was complete he explained what he found. Even though I only purchased a coupon for a basic tune-up, he did not try to push any additional services on me. Overall, I was very satisfied.

Used a machine to view inside pan. Said pan has leaks. No way to fix leaks. Also air conditioner needed charged but didn't recommend it. Said it would cost me 450 dollars to charge the air conditioner. (I had similar issue a few years ago and was able to get charge and it ran fine after that without leaks.) Said it was down 40%. Suggested I replace entire air conditioner unit. Unit has been working fine until this morning and had leaking from it onto basement floor. Since I can't afford to replace my air conditioner I was hoping he had a short term suggestion that didn't cost nearly 500 dollars. I had the unit charged and supposedly cleaned two years ago and it has worked fine. I'm disappointed that he didn't reconnect the pipe correctly. I went down to check laundry and the pipe was open and pouring out water onto my furnace! Now I'm concerned that furnace may have issues since water got in it from unconnected pipe. I'm also concerned that he might not have put everything back together right inside the furnace that he removed in order to put viewing tool inside to look at bottom of pan. At the very least he should have replaced the pipe correctly and retaped as it was prior to visit.

Called them after another company went to voicemail and didn't return my call for over an hour. Receptionist was respectful and helpful. Appointment was scheduled the very next day. Although the 8:30-3:30 window wasn't ideal, they did call 15 minutes before the technician arrived. Service was absolutely excellent. Matt explained everything extremely clearly. Since our system is 18 years old (said most systems last 15-20 years) and refrigerant was basically gone, he went through the three options - fill more refrigerant (which would leak again anyway), find leak and replace parts (which aren't made new anymore with the old system) or replace whole system. He explained all of this without sounding pushy or in that "greasy mechanic" vibe I hate when it just sounds like they're trying to make you replace something expensive that doesn't need replacing. So either he's a Jedi who made me believe him or he's telling the truth, and I believe him. Oh, and Matt is a Penguins fan, which is always a plus in my book. Of course, we can't afford a whole new system replacement yet, but when I do, I'll be sure to call them again and will recommend them to anyone I know.

He answered the call promptly and was prompt in doing the service too.

I was very impressed with this company. I am a new home owner and Matt, the service technician, spent a considerable time with me explaining how the systems work, how to operate the humidifier, and which filter to buy. He definitely went above and beyond.

The gentleman who showed up did a great job. He tested my A?C and found that it was very low on Refrigerant. As the AC is only 3.5 years old he recommended I call the original Installer to get it serviced under warranty. I would use the service again.

Yes - both technicians were very nice and knowledgable. One technician put my address into his GPS incorrectly and failed to appear at the scheduled time. However, a manager called and was willing to reschedule my appointment and apologized. It was fine, and he still came, just late, and didn't rush through the job.

It did take a while to schedule them but that partially was due to my schedule. Everything was excellent and I know they were extremely busy. They had other people on higher priority that did not have heat. I did find another company to do the tune-up on Angie's List.

The service turned out good. I was pleased with the service. I was happy when they were here.

He emailed me the next day to let me know he didn't service my area.

Everything went well. They did an inspection of the furnace and duct work and every thing checked out ok.

A service man came to inspect and clean our furnace in the fall. We were pleased with that. However, later in the winter, when a leak occurred, the same service man came to check it out and immediately started pushing for the purchase of a new furnace altogether in this and the next several conversations. Since others had told us our furnace was in good shape, I called a different company who sent a guy who simply sealed up the leak with some latex. I promised myself then that I wouldn't ever use the first company again.

He was very helpful and gave me all the information that I needed. He recommended purchasing a new furnace as ours was old. He was very nice to talk to and helped explain what the issue was. It took a couple of hours for the inspection. There was a small additional fee for the replacement of the coupling piece. This company has good service. I would give him a thumbs up.
