Never returned call

They came out did an estimate, called to make the date of work, and then came out to remeasure the gutters. They came and replaced everything all in one day.

the house call for the estimate was almost instantaneous. we are on the schedule for next month. i will try to remember to update this status during and after the work is performed.

I would give them an A rating and I will use them again in the future.

They came in and put the guards up. I previously had heat tape up on the roof. They took the heat tape down, and then put their gutter guards up. Then they told me I didn't need any heat tape; in fact they tried to take mine that I had with them. This past winter I had an icicle that was like, 30 feet hanging down. Because I wanted the heat tape back up there but they said I didn't need it. So I've got to get someone out here to put some heat tape backup. I will not use them again in the future.

In May the gutter helmet device went from flat on the roof to vertical. i.e the next wind storm would probably destroy them. I called for them to come out and repair. They said they were busy and would get to me in three to four weeks. Unacceptable given the state of the device. I then arranged for someone else to do the repair. He noted that the devices were installed incorrectly, which is why they went vertical, and he fixed the problem. In late November (seven months later) they called and said someone will be out tomorrow. He came out, and said they were not vertical (duh). I asked him to inspect and verify that the devices were all okay. He went back to the roof, and never came back to give me a report.

The price was way too high. The installers were very nice and easy to work with. I have no complaints about the installation and the gutter helmet itself has been more effective than I thought it would be. Dealing with them has been fine and my only objection has been the price.

Called the company and a sales person came out to show us information and options for installation. Several different color options were available. The sales person spent a good deal of time with us while we made decisions and he documented the services to be provided in great detail. There was a 45 day wait for installation because we were ordering during a very busy time of the year for gutter work - made perfect sense to me because of the bad, icy winter we had, which did a lot of damage to our own gutters. We were notified in advance when the crew would be here and they came right on time. I was amazed that they finished the whole installation in about 4 hours and cleaned everything up completely. The resulting installation was excellent in appearance and we were told that it would take a few weeks for the oils, etc. to wear off of the metal, and then the gutter helmet would work fully. This turned out to be the case, and we are very pleased with the entire process. Note that the gutter helmet is a product normally added to existing gutters and the price we paid may seem high, but they were also replacing damaged gutters, so just adding gutter helmets to existing gutters should be somewhat less expensive.

I have a few suggestions on customer service for the Gutter Helmet Company. My husband and I had gone to a local Home & Garden Show and talked to the salesmen ( they were also recommended by a window installation company we have used ). We were impressed with their presentation and made an appt. The salesman came to our house on April 10, 2010. Mr. O'Brian was very honest and when he said he could replace the gutters and fix everything right. I was very, very happy. The problem is we wanted the downspouts replaced also and he said they' replace things to the ground' but not under the ground. I was ok with that because I knew my husband could replace the drainage pipe under the ground but not get up on a ladder or on the roof. He did tell us it would at least 45 days till they could install. My suggestion to them would be that they contact the homeowner to inform them of the status on where they are on the list to be installed. It seemed like it was forever before they came. Example, " Hello, Mrs Hancsak, we wanted to let you know their are three homes ahead of yours, if there's no rain it should be in about a week." They did finally call to say they would be installing the next day, but I didn't hear the message. I'll blame that on my son for forgetting to tell me. We were ready to call them to cancel, when we got home the job was done. It looked great but they didn't replace the downspouts because Mr. O'Brian did not write it down on the work order. Because of that we had no way to demand they come back and do the downspouts. I do plan on calling anyway to see if I could get them to come back out. My reason would be I don't think my husband will be able to do it.

For the limited time that it worked, it seemed to work correctly. Four months after installation, the snow pulled the gutter helmet completely off of the back of my house. Something is also wrong in the front of my house, because water is poring down the front worse than if the gutters were completely clogged. Called gutter helmet, over a 2 month wait for anyone to come out, even for an estimate. And it is not covered by their "lifetime warranty". Absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND these guys. I wish I had never heard of them, this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a home owner.

The salesman was a bit pushy for our taste.

We were inpressed with the phone call to ask for a quote for gutter guard, and a letter confirming the appointment followed in the mail, all very prompt and proffesional. Then, we were very unimpressed with the salesman...he asked too many personal questions in a round about way, and made comments on the beautiful home, nice neighborhood, and "dropped names" of clients in the area, etc. The price was extreemly high, then came down $1000 after the saleman took $$ off for expired coupons, keeping a sign in the yard for two weeks, etc. The saleman was VERY pushy. By the time the saleman left, we felt violated in our own space! Thus, have no interest in the company's product.

The company was contracted to install gutter guards. Installation occurred last Summer. Water is now leaking into interior walls of the house. This has never occurred before. Roofer inspected the roof and stated that there is nothing wrong with the roof, the problem is being caused by the improper gutter guard installation which allows water to freeze and back up under the shingles. The gutter guard company has been out to check this twice. The first time they found a loose screw. The second time they said they could not see anything wrong. We deeply regret ever purchasing this product and would advise anyone to just pay to have your gutters cleaned. The company will not even acknowledge work was done poorly.

Salesman was good, but followup was delayed a month or so. Did not explain gutter helmets would take 5 or 6 weeks to actually work right because of oil on surface, etc. Workers cleaned out gutters but failed to wipe down front of gutters so gutters looked bad. Workers left sharp pieces of metal and other debris on the grass. Had to call them back to clean up the mess which was a hazard and would have killed the lawn if they were left. We had to put 1/3 down, and then our credit card was charged after the job was done but before we accepted the job as good. They also put an advertising sign in our yard without our permission.

When the work was first done, they failed to connect the gutter correctly on one corner of the house and throughout the job, the gutters were poorly/improperly installed. They leak not from the gutter, but from where the gutter is attached to the house. As it turns out, they used the wrong type of hardware to attach the gutters to my house and I will have to have it all replaced by a professional who knows what they are doing. When I complained about the leaking gutters, Gutter Helmet's solution was to use silicone to seal the leaks, but this has not worked. Finally, the Helmet's which are supposed to prevent the need to clean your gutters does not work if you have Oak trees that drop lots of pollen and seeds in the fall. The gutters have been clogged ever since they were installed and I still have to clean them. I would have expected the Gutter Helmet professional staff to know it would not work at my house given the trees. Also, when I made them come back to correct part of the job, they charged me more money. Overall, this was a giant $8,000 mistake and I found Gutter Helmet to be profoundly unhelpful when I complained about the installation after the fact.

They did a great job. I have a very large two story home that is surrounded by trees that drop these pollen pods that was contently clogging my gutters. I called these folks, they came out, and gave an estimate. They kept me informed. They came out and installed the helmets and tightened up the gutters. The helmet really does work. I think it was worth the cost.

Positives: The work was well done, and the company was very professional in all their interactions with me. They didn't try to sell me unnecessary repairs to the existing gutters. Minor negatives: They asked for one-third of the payment up front, which seems high to me. I was told the work would be done within 45 days after signing the contract. It turned out to be slightly over two months. In fairness, this was during the late fall, which I'm sure is their busy season.

Very pleased. Very nice to work with. The sales person and the person who did the installation.

I was leery about using them. He ended up coming back with a better price after I agreed to putting a sign in the yard. I think they did a great job. Answered my questions, cleaned up. Price was good.

Overall, the work was well performed and the clean up was excellent.

I liked the attention to detail they used and that they were careful not to get into my flower beds while they were doing their job. They hauled off all the debris and made sure they cleaned up everything. They were friendly and I thought the price was good too.

They were really good. They also charged me a very reasonable price and it consisted of a three month payment. They were very professional. I really think this a very reliable company and I will recommend them.

Gutter Helmet was a bit expensive, but they were professional and friendly. I found them to be quite competent and honest and was comfortable with them and their advice of what I needed.

I was not completely happy with them because for one they showed up 2 months after the scheduled time and the repair work was not done right at all. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

THEY PROVIDED PROMPT, EFFICIENT SERVICE. THE INSTALLERS DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THE HELMETS KEEP THE LEAVES OUT QUITE WELL.
