Dun-Rite Window and Door

From start to finish Dun Rite is a "class act". Mr. Trasatti arrived with measuring tools, brochures, and great recommendations for replacing our two broken down old wooden doors. He even took into consideration specific needs for the back storm door ---- a door that would get daily abuse from our 100 pound dog. Mr. Trasatti is genuine, helpful, patient, and a good communicator. I even called in a last minute request for a large "fish-eye" viewer to be included on our new back door. Dun Rite's craftsmen, John and John did very exacting work in terrible winter conditions. This entire year we have enjoyed the security and great features of our new Dun Rite doors. I only wish that I had a bigger savings account so that we could get a new front door from the great people at Dun Rite !

I called Dun Rite after seeing all the positive reviews on Angies List. Dino, the owner, showed up in person and made it very easy to decide what type of windows would work the best. He measured the windows and gave me a price at that time. I didn't have to deal with a salesman calling back and forth to the company, like a car dealer, to get a price. And, Dino gave me a 3% discount for being a member of Angie's List. Dino said it would be a two day job which it was. John and John installed the windows. They showed up on time and went right to work. They're kind of amazing to watch. They really have a system to putting the windows in. They cleaned everything up each day. This company is professional, friendly, helpful and it was a stress free experience. I love my new windows and I would highly recommend Dunrite to everyone.

Overall experience was excellent. There was absolutely no pressure when he came out to give us an estimate. We felt the estimate was fair and without gimmicks. We scheduled the work and he was able to replace the 3 windows in bout 1/2 day. The work was impeccable and he cleaned everything up when he was done. He had to work in a narrow space, but it did not appear to be a hindrance for him in any way. The windows function perfectly and have done so for almost a year. We've not had any problems at all. They fit perfectly, have double locks and are easy to clean and maintain. They look very nice. I will use them again to replace our remaining windows.

The owner came to our home the day after I inquired via email. He measured the window to be replaced, gave me a quote on-the-spot, and promised to order the replacement window ASAP. Two weeks later, right on schedule, he called me to set up an appointment. His employees arrived promptly, worked quickly, and did an AMAZING job. I would definitely recommend DUN RITE for any window replacement needs.

Called Dun-Rite for an estimate for 11 replacement windows. Dino came to the house within a week after calling, measured windows, explained the product, and quoted the final price. Appointment took about 30 minutes, and there was no pressure to make an immediate decision as I have had with other companies. He told he the lead time to get the windows and have them installed was about 3-4 weeks. Dino called me about a week after I accepted his offer and told me the windows were in and we set up a time for installation. He told me that the installers would probably take 1.5 days to get all the windows in. Appointment set for the next week. Installers showed up a little before 9 and worked till a little after 3. They got 7 windows done on the first day and finished the job before 1 on the second day. The two guys who installed the windows were very nice and worked hard, they even left the work area a little cleaner than they found it. Windows look great and work great. Will definitively be calling Dun-Rite for any other windows I need replaced.

First, they could have just replaced all my windows (my house inspector had said they couldn't be repaired) instead they saved me a lot of money and did a superb job repairing them -- they work like new now. They came when they said they would and they worked fast and well, and left no mess. Courteous, honest, and professional.

Had glass block windows installed today (11/3/2012). Phil called ahead before work started and gave me a chance to get it together first thing in the morning on a Saturday (THANKS PHIL)!! Then almost from the moment he arrived, he was busy taking out the old windows, and installing the new glass-block. Phil was WONDERFUL!! He was personable, professional and at the same time, he worked quickly and expediently!! I had four windows installed by one man in less than 4 hours!! They look great and the process was fantastic!!

We were pleased with the work and how it was done. Everything was handled in a friendly and professional way.

It went just like I had read in the other Angie's List reviews. I called and left a message. Dino called me back to set up an appointment. He was very courteous when he came to measure my windows. My husband and i were considering French Doors to replace our patio doors but Dino explained space wise why that could be a problem. He was right. We had never considered how much space we would lose to open the doors. I called him back a couple times, once to adjust our order another to ask a question. Both times he was courteous on the phone and addressed our items. About four weeks after the order was placed Dino called to tell us our windows were in. He scheduled an appointment around my schedule. I had 2 concerns about our install 1 we have a waterbed that has a window directly above it. I was waiting for Dino to tell me I would have to move it, but he didn't, they worked around it. 2 we had one basement window that had holes for three exhaust pipes and an electric line running through it. We were really worried how they would replace it with glass blocks. The installer figured it out and It looks beautiful. The installers showed up on the days promised. They arrived about 830 a. They were very professional. I had no mess when they left. Overall we had a painless experience and we now have 10 beautiful new windows and a sliding door. You will not regret hiring this company.

Dino and his people were terrific. Estimate was prompt and reasonable. The workers showed up on time and were neat and courteous. Payment was not asked for until the job was done.This is the place to go for storm windows (they actually manufacture the product).

Dino came out do do an estimate and measure. Within 2 hours of his leaving, we received the estimate by email. When the new door came in, Dino found flaws in it and called to tell us he was sending it back. Once the new door arrived, we agreed on an installation date. A gentleman and his 2 sons came on time and worked nonstop for 6 hours to complete the job. The door is gorgeous and our neighbors have commented. This has undoubtedly increased the value of our property. We plan to have Dun-Rite replace our side door next year.

We have used Dino a couple of times over the last few years, and he has always been great. In this instance, we worked with the entire crew as we had many varied items installed. All of his staff were great to work with, quick, on time and efficient. His worker for the glass block and Bilco door was especially patient, as my 4 year old son asked tons of questions. He also was willing to reschedule to fit everyone's needs better.

I can't speak highly enough of Dino. When I first started showing him the work I wanted done I thought that he was trying to up sell me, but I quickly realized that he was looking at the house as though he was going to be the one living in it after the work was done. We have a very large picture window in our living room with a tall narrow window on each side. The two narrow windows had been painted shut and the glass was broken so they definitely needed replacing. The large picture window in the center I had decided I was not going to replace, though it was just double pane glass with air in between and had a few dings. Even though it cost him the sale of those two narrow windows he recommended that I go with either fiber glass or wood because vinyl has a wider sash and he showed me how much window I would lose with vinyl. (I had some one in selling fiber glass windows already and they had mentioned the narrower sashes but I had not really thought through the impact until Dino demonstrated it. Dino is also the person who suggested replacing just the glass instead of the entire sash in the large picture window. Because of these and the questions that Dino asked I selected DunRite for all of the windows except for the ones on either side of the picture window. I felt that Dino was the most interested in having a very satisfied customer than just a sale. Also, I had not heard of the brand name windows that Dino was recommending and could not find much on the internet so I asked for references. He gladly provided me with two pages of references. I called the three customers who had the windows installed the longest and they all called me back to say that they were very pleased with the windows, they still worked smoothly and looked great. His folks arrived on time and finished when they said they would. They were professional and they left the work area cleaner than they found it. I was totally pleased at the time and I still am.

I had gotten several estimates and the one from Dun-Rite was far and away the most reasonable one for the same number and quality of windows. Once I agreed to have them do the work, I was given an estimated time of 3 to 4 weeks for the windows to come in. True to his word, I received a phone call about 4 weeks later that the windows were in, and the installation day was scheduled for the following week. The installers were polite and efficient...showed up on time and finished all 9 windows in one day. My house is stone, and the exterior aluminum trim around each one had to be cut to fit exactly, with each one being different. Big John, (you would understand if you met him) did a masterful job with this part on every window. I could not be more pleased with the way the job turned out and would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality, reasonably priced job.

They were very quick and did an excellent job. They replaced the window completely. If I have any future trouble with any other windows I would call them.

We had a basement door replaced. It was a really old, poorly fitted door with some issues. I felt like Dino understood what we were looking for and didn't try to gouge us for any bells and whistles when he realized it wasn't a huge project. The guys he sent seemed very proud of their work when they left and that was nice, as well. They were polite and came at the scheduled time. The only minor complaint I have is that the men put their tools and drinks on a dresser I was refinishing in the basement (minor heart attack) but no damage was done :) Overall, very happy with this company, especially considering we talked to a million contractors in the process of having this door taken care of (and many other items in our house). We would recommend and will use again on our next project.

Dino and crew were very professional. It rained the day of the install. Dino kept me updated on when/if they were going to come. For the most part, the rain had stopped until they got to the last 3 windows, then it started to sprinkle. By the time they got to the last window, it was pouring. It didn't stop them. John Squared, thanks so much for your hard work!! I love my new windows and can definitely tell the difference between them and the old ones. Completely satisfied!!

Several contractors (using Angie's List) gave estimates before I selected Dun-Rite. The selection process was easy. Owner Dino made the initial visit. He measured, provided an immediate price, and offered suggestions. I appreciated his opinions and his professionalism. Windows and doors were ordered and all arrived a few days earlier than projected. The installation was promptly scheduled - and everything was installed in one day by John and John (Thanks ! - You are terrific !) The windows look great - and are easy to clean. The manufacturer has a website with step-by-step directions for cleaning and care of the windows. It is amazing how much light is in my home now -- and they are the same size as my old windows ! The storm door is beautiful, too, and allows more light to enter my foyer. Dino was great to work with. No money down - just an email from me confirming my order. (No time wasted.) Angie's List discount was included in the price without a coupon or proof of membership. This company is a class act ! (A throwback to a better times when a handshake was the same as a contract.) I will be replacing the rest of the windows in my home - probably in 2 years - and will be contacting Dino. THANK YOU !

The repairs only took about a week to complete.

Dun Rite came out and measured, gave us the estimate for the job. We agreed to have the work done and selected they type of door and colors. Dino told us it would take about a month for the door to come in as they are ordered specifically for the job. We were in no rush, so the wait was no problem. The door arrived earlier than expected and Dino called to arrange installation as soon as the door was ready. Once we got all of our ducks together, two workers came out on a Thursday to remove the old door and put up the new door. The other half of the opening was covered with plywood for the glass block to be installed the next day. The glass block installer was there right on time the next day and within a few hours the job was completed. The door and glass block look great and are so much better than our old sliding glass door. Much better for security also. I feel that Dun Rite works hard to maintain their good reputation. They are very professional and complete the job in a timely manner without any baloney. I would definitely use them for future work when needed. I selected this company not just based on the excellent rating that they have with Angie's List, but also because the owner takes the time to reply back to the comments made. I found that to be the deciding factor. I had never heard of the company prior to joining Angie's list, and I'm glad I spent a few bucks to expand my horizons.

Prompt response on estimate, prompt completion of job on the day and time they set. Very pleased.

Dino made the initial visit to speak to my wife and I about new windows. We didn't know much about the products or the installation process, but Dino was really patient and answered all of our questions thoroughly. He may tell you he isn't a "salesman," but he has years of experience in the business and a total no nonsense approach. He knew we had a budget, and he worked with us to stay within it. We never felt like we were being upsold or that Dino was taking advantage of us. In comparison to the other bids we received, Dino's was the most reasonable and included the few extras we wanted (grids and color). He was also willing to schedule the installation on a Friday and Saturday, so that we didn't have to take an extra day off. What can I say about the installation process? John and John were great. They arrived early on both Friday and Saturday (difficult in itself for some people), and worked steadily to complete the installation process by Saturday afternoon. I would like to add that Saturday was the morning after a Penguins game and that John and John are big hockey fans. Anyone who has had contractors arrive late, or cancel at the last minute, will appreciate these guys. It rained most of the day on Saturday, and they still managed to complete the work. If you do choose to go with Dun-Rite, the Johns like to work to Oldies music and really appreciate a soda and/or water throughout the day. Obviously your call, but I think they are worth it.

The installers showed up on time and finished the job in about 2 hours. They did a great job finishing the inside trim as well as installing the glass block. Cleaned up everything and left no mess. No muss, no fuss. Price exactly what we had agreed upon. Although it was a very small job the whole process was completed in a timely manner, and very professionally.
