After completion installation of the new water heater, the plumber submitted a bill for an additional 51% over the quoted price. When I asked for an itemized accounting of the additional charges the plumber stated the company doesn't provide itemization but demanded payment for service. I then asked the plumber for advice on another potential problem in the house; he said I would have to log another service call for him to look at the problem. I would not recommend this company to anyone due to their unethical business practices.
Description of Work: Plumber was contracted through my home insureance company to perform replacement of hot water heater. New heater was fully covered under insurance. The plumber provided a quote for installation to cover additional items needed for change in hook up, disposal and changes in code requirements. The quote was agreed upon.

Response from BB PLUMBING
The home warranty (not homeowner's insurance) does not cover everything in the house. The home warranty dictates what is covered. We cannot and will not commit insurance fraud! It is very important to read the contract thoroughly! We give flat rate pricing. In other words, we do not break down item for item. It is a set price.

Using our home warranty, BB Plumbing was assigned to fix a leak in our bathroom shower. The leak was the result of a worn out shower arm. The plumber told me that it would not be covered by the warranty but he could repair it. I agreed to have him do it. He could not get the broken piece of shower arm out of the pipe so he began to use a hammer and screw driver to try to break up the old pipe. He then installed the new shower arm. He then installed the shower head which he proceeded to break. I had to return the shower head to the store and then installed it. Unfortunately his connection to the pipe in the wall leaks in the wall. I then called the warranty company to complain. They tried to reach BB Plumbing to get them to come back to fix the repair. They were unsuccessful in getting a response so they assigned a new plumber. We will see how that goes. I called BB Plumbing three times with no returned calls. I finally got a letter from them telling me that the problem was my shower head. They offered me $85 off my next plumbing call. Would have rather have had them actually do the job right in the first place or return my money. I called and left them a message telling them that the solution they offered was unacceptable and that I would be willing to discuss another resolution with them. Again, no call back. Based on this experience and the lack of follow up on their work, I would definitely avoid this company in favor of a more professional operation. Poor customer relations and clearly they don't seem to care or need the business. Not acceptable work. Today another company came out to repair the work of BB Plumbing. They told us the work was sub-par and that the pipe was not repair correctly. In 30 minutes or less the second plumber had the job done right.

Because this is my first home, I purchased a home-warranty. Luckily for me, the home-warranty company sent BB Plumbing to address my concerns. I initially called because I was not getting clear water in my washing machine when trying to wash my clothes on the hot/cold water setting. My water was, on anything other than the extra small load, slightly light brown in color. Since I was putting in a call that was covered under my home-warranty, I also said my kitchen faucet was leaking as well which it was .however, that lead to an even bigger discussion that I had with owner, when he returned my call. Since this is my first home & I had a real live plumber on the phone, I peppered him with questions. I wanted to know why my water in the washing machine was brown, I wanted to know why the water coming out of my faucet in the kitchen was a weak little trickle while everywhere else in the house it was gushing like a waterfall, and I had about 4 more questions that he graciously and patiently answered. When I finally stopped talking long enough to listen, he clearly explained what would be covered under my warranty ($55 service charge, as per the home-warranty company for the hot-water heater) and what else he would do to address all the other problems I had discussed with him. He went through several possible scenarios with me, regarding my kitchen faucet. Also, he did explain all the costs that would/could be incurred with each kitchen faucet scenario. Every time, and with each scenario, he reassured me that his guy would check it all out and make sure he did everything he could to fix the problem in the least expensive way possible. And that s exactly what happened. While working on the hot-water heater problem (covered by the home-warranty), his guy took a look at my kitchen faucet. I did indeed have a leak; but what I also had, was a poorly made Peerless faucet that had been installed by previous owners. The plumber worked valiantly to revive my pitiful Peerless faucet, but it wans t able to be repaired which I want to say, is one of the possible scenarios I had gone through on the phone with the owner. I was then given a choice between 2 beautiful Delta faucets each one was a different price point, there was one $100-ish faucet, and one $220-ish faucet. I picked the $220-ish faucet, and it was installed & running beautifully in less than 40 minutes no fuss, no muss, and no extra-fancy lingo or charges. Just good, honest, straight-forward service.
Description of Work: Replaced kitchen faucet and fixed the brown water I was getting from my hot water heater.
