When it was decided that a new motor was needed, and the employee assured me that this WAS the problem I was told that it would cost $500. I asked if I could make payments and over the phone Tim responded, "No, but I can take a credit card." I called my son-in-law to ask him if this sounded reasonable and he agreed that it had to be fixed and the amount was probably reasonable. While he was still on the phone with me the employee came into the room with Tim on his cell phone. He asked me what I wanted to do. I asked him if it was definitely $500 and no more. He asked Tim and then told me that it would be exactly that amount and no more. I agreed to have the work done. At that point the employee told me that he needed my credit card information so that Tim could be sure that it would be covered. I gave him my credit card and he gave the info to Tim over his cell phone. The work was completed, taking considerable time including 45 minutes during which the employee left to get the motor. After he was finished he brought me the bill and said that I would probably want to look at it. I did, seeing immediately that the total was $568.19. I told him that this was not what we agreed on. The increase was not due to taxes, just a larger fee for the work done. His response was, "I know." I told him that I needed to talk to Tim before this was put on my credit card and he informed me that Tim had already run it before he had him give me the bill. I refused to sign the paper stating that I agreed to the fees. I called Tim myself and got his voice mail. I left a message that the amount was not what we agreed to, and that he did not have my permission to put it on my card. The employee left, without the paper signed. A short time later Tim called me and was rude and disrespectful. I was calm and just stated that we had an agreement and he needed to stand by it. He told me that it was too bad and it was already run. I told him that I would contact my credit card company and refuse the charges to be accepted. He then said that he would give me a check for $60.00 to make me happy. I told him that I would agree to that. He assured me that his employee would be back to my house shortly with the check. I have still not received a check and he has not answered my phone calls that I have made to him twice. This is a man who is untrustworthy and dishonest. I have had to cancel my credit card because he still has all of my information and I do not trust him not to put other charges on it, and I have filed a dispute claim with Visa. I do not want others to be lied to and cheated by this man as I have been. I have been told that this is a frequent procedure by Tim Zippieri, so others beware!
Description of Work: He sent an employee to fix my furnace that was not working. It kept starting and stopping every 30 seconds without providing any heat. The employee did not know what was wrong so called Tim Zippieri repeatedly for instructions and information. It was decided by Tim that a new motor was needed. This diagnosis was made by the info given to him over the phone. A new motor was installed and after repeated trials and "tinkering" the furnace finally began working.
