Zeke and Son Roofing and Siding installed an IKO Cambridge roof of the home of Mr. and Mr. Welsh of 224 Rivercrest Drive, Moon, PA 15108. Their number is 412-264-4486. Mr. Welsh and his wife Jennie rated Zeke and Son an overall "A" for an excellent rating. Zeke handled the bidding process and was very thorough in explaining the work to be done and costs involved and put the owners at ease by letting them know he was fully insured. Zeke's crew did a first class job from tear off, install and clean up and they were very efficient and polite. They would recommend them to anyone looking for a replacement roof.

The job was terrific from the bidding process through the end of the job including the cleanup. Zeke explained the bid thoroughly and was on top of everything. He was very easy to get in touch with and made several trips to the home to inspect the work and to insure that the everyone was happy with the progress. The roof is beautiful and the workmanship excellent. His crews also were very respectful of the property and the cleanup was perfect.

Zeke was not the lowest but the quality of product at the price was the best. While he seems to do all of the roofs in the area, he always found time to drop off a sample or answer questions that I had on my bid. His crew was professional, clean and did a fantastic job. I have been doing an entire home remodeling project that great thing about Zeke is he can recommend a company for just about anything you need. On a personal note, I was surprised when I would see him near Moon Park just about everyday feeding the deer and today I read an article about a wounded veteran that Zeke volunteered to give a free roof to his family http://triblive.com/news/washington/6315458-74/vitale-marine-corps#axzz36XJNqZeB I think it speaks to the kind of person Zeke is, I would highly recommend his company to anyone looking to replace a roof.

They did a really good job. They were punctual, professional, and very clean in their work. I would recommend their services.

The working crew was informative and friendly. Job was completed in one day. Left the house and surroundings clean and free of debris. Highly recommend Zeke and Son roofing.

Zeke and Son Roofing showed up on time, had the proper equipment and the right people on the crew and installed a very nice roof within a few hours. The work was done flawlessly and the crew was very cooperative. Very good to work with.

Ideally I wanted them them to perform work in 2010 so I could take advantage of the federal tax credit but they were not able to perform the work until 2011 which I agreed to. They chose to perform the work with snow on the roof which they shoveled off. They accomplished the work in 2 days. See attached photo of singles installed on garage roof. You can see they did not install shingle in a straight line parallel to the roof line. I thought this was unprofessional work from what I believed to be an experienced firm . After contacting the firm to complain, they did come back and made it right. The other disappointment was the inadequate clean up afterwords of loose roofing nails. In the 6 months following the work I had to repair 3 flat tires due to roof nail punctures. The new roof and skylight doesn't leak so from that perspective the job appears to be satisfactory. However, I think people can do better not to use them and I would not recommend them.

Zeke's crew showed up at 8am on Thursday morning. There were 4 workers on the crew and they went right to work after the suprevisor, Hamilton, greeted me with a smile and told me they were going to start the work. They crew was very curteoous and all said hello as I left for work. It took them 2 days to finish the job. When I returned home from work on the second day I couldnt help but smile! My roof looked spectacular. The Royal Estate shingle Zeke promised would look wonderful on my home was just that! I now have a roof that looks like colorful slate and it is different than my neighbors' roofs. It has a blend of 4 colors that compliments my house so well. The crew was putting the final touches on the house as I arrived. Hamilton approached me and asked how I liked the project with a smile on his face. I think that he knew it looked marvelous! The crew cleaned up and it was as though there was never any work done on my property. Two of my neighbors came over and told me that they loved the roof! I am so pleased with the job. I am also pleased that Zeke offered me a shingle with a lifetime warranty that gives me 15 years of FULL protection before the proration period begins. That is 5 more years than the other manufacturers! I feel like Zeke was looking out for me. He gave me a beautiful shingle with the best warranty and the most protection for my home. To me, THAT is customer service. I would recommend Zeke and Sons Roofing to anyone looking for great workmanship, great service, and a great price.

He went up to the roof, and put some type substance to fix it. It did not fix the problem, and my gutter started to leak the next time it rained, as much as it did before. I must have called him 4 or 5 times to come back and repair my gutters. He kept giving me excuses, and blowing me off. The last time we spoke he told me I needed new gutters and downspouts. I told him he needs to come back and fixed the problem. That was the last time I talked with him.

Leaky, leaky and more leaky. While Zeke is a nice and personable guy, his work was terrible. He is my single biggest reason to join Angie's List. His idea of fixing a leak in to use tar. If that doesn't work, he uses more tar. It cost me almost as much to fix the leaks and damage that they caused as it did to to the entire roof.

A neighbor had used Zeke a couple years ago with good results and recommended him. When I initially contacted Zeke in Oct 2011, he said he was really busy and since my roof was not leaking he might not get to me until March 2012. I said OK, but in December I noticed some spotting on my ceiling evidencing a minor leak, and asked Zeke if he could move me up in the schedule. He was responsive and, given the mild weather, we agreed that he would do the work in early January 2012. We had not specified a start date, and when I returned from a weekend away, I was surprised that on the Saturday that I was away he had pulled off the ridge vent and some of the old shingles. On Sunday we had high winds and rain, and the temporary material covering the open gap at the peak of the roof and the plywood roofing was all torn and flapping in the wind, leaving a lot of debris inside the attic. The roofers were here promptly every day (except Sunday) until the job was done four days later. However, during that time we had snow almost every day, and they had to brush it off the roof to see what they were doing. The roofers were walking around on the snowy roof without any safety harness and I heard one say he had slipped a bit and caution the others. Because of the snow, they could not see the scrap roofing and nails they were leaving all over the yard, and I spent considerable time in the spring doing the clean-up. The finished roof looked fine, but I noticed water was dripping from behind the gutters. I had not asked Zeke to replace the gutters and he did not suggest it. In April 2012 I contracted with another firm to replace the gutters. On inspecting the job, the gutter guys found numerous problems with Zeke's roofing job including: 1) the flashing around the chimney was poorly done and needed to be redone, 2) in an area where a porch roof adjoined the house siding, where there should have been metal up under the siding and under the porch roofing, there was only caulk at the joint; and 3) no drip edge had been installed under the roofing to carry water into the gutter (which was the source of the visible water drips). The gutter guys also showed me where the mortar cap on the top of the chimney had deteriorated and had completely broken off in places, exposing the inside of the chimney structure to water damage. Zeke's guys hadn't seen or mentioned this to me. While I appreciate Zeke's willingness to do the job promptly in response to an apparent minor leak, in retrospect he had no business doing it during bad weather. The snow made it very dangerous and impeded visibility, and the cold added incentive to the crew to finish quickly. Zeke was inexpensive (the lowest of 5 bidders) and responsive, but the quality of his work was poor which led to immediately visible drips and probably would have led to later water damage. His work had to be fixed by another contractor. I would not recommend him or use him again.

When I confronted him that I still had the leak - he was difficult to work with. Overall he was hard to talk to on the phone - he would just yell in a very loud voice, that none of his roofs ever leak (yet he had phone calls to return for roof problems). He would not come out to the house, but instead sent one of his foreman who spread this tar. I can email photos if anyone is interested. I would not recommend this man for any roof or siding job.

I long and dreadful nightmare that lasted until I hired another roofing company to correct their disaster.

Very difficult to communicate with this company. I chose them based on their experience with similar homes in the neighborhood. They left a complete mess behind, as well as forgot or decided NOT to install the ice barrier, which intern caused water entry into the home this past winter. They did not return a call I placed (with message) 3 months ago.

We have had a couple of problems with our roof, and have contacted him several times. However nobody has returned our phone calls.

After an immediate in person estimate, which was followed by a written estimate, I called and scheduled the work. The owner told me I would be scheduled in November and I was. It took a week to do the roof because of rain and Thanksgiving. The crew worked from morning to late afternoon and cleaned up after themselves every day. The foreman checked with me daily with updates. I would use them again

THey show up when they say they will and they do great work!!! Best price, owner came by at the end to review the work. I highly recommend them to others.

I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I WAS UNHAPPY THAT I DESCRIBED WHAT I WANTED TO FIX AND WHEN THE JOB WAS COMPLETED THEY TOLD ME WHY IT COULD NOT BE FIXED. THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THEIR REASONS BEFORE THEY DID THE JOB. THEN I WOULD HAVE FOUND SOMEONE WHO WOULD FIX THE WATER PROBLEM.
