Heater maintenance contract. Excellent service.

I purchased "what's wrong w A/C" from Angie's List. Started with some communication problems bc they didn't have my phone number thru the List. Took longer than it should have to sort out. Overall, only very minor negative has been in the communications department with the office. No big deal really, it worked out. | |Professional services (Sam) have been excellent. First visit he quickly diagnosed the problem and I was pleased to learn I only needed a $200 repair. He had the electronic part on his truck and fixed within the hour. This was discounted with an additional purchase of a maintenance contract, but with a ten year old house I was interested in the upsell. No pressure though from Sam, I could have easily declined. | |Second service visit was furnace maintenance under the newly purchased service agreement. Sam again, and again, professionalism was top notch. Heading into the winter heating service I was glad to see how thoroughly he did his job.

It went good. I cannot really provide a whole lot of details because I was not actually home when they stopped by but they came and gave me an estimate and that was it. I did not hire them to do anything. I was pretty sure that my unit was broken. I just did not know if it was a simple fix or an expensive fix or if I should just kick it or something. I did not hire them because repairing it was very expensive and it was the end of the summer and I just thought that I could postpone having it fixed. Their estimate was like $2,000. I probably will use them when I decide to get my unit fixed.

Aside from the fact I called their 24/7 emergency line without a response all day Sunday, I had to call again on the following day twice to get someone to come out and take a look. I have dealt with them in the past and had my installation done with them which I was very happy with, but "emergency services" they were not. Not only did they show up after they said they would (without an update from the service desk), they stayed for less than 10 minutes and charged me $172 for fixing a miswired thermostat. It literally took 2 minutes to switch the wire. The diagnostic fee of $95 and the "misc repair" of $65 was not justified. Not to mention that the tech was on the phone the whole time talking with someone else. The only reason it was miswired was that I had to try to fix the problem myself by attaching an old thermostat because I was not getting a call back from them. I didn't even get an explanation as to why they didn't answer any of my repeated messages to their on-call tech over the weekend, or even an apology! I'm disappointed and lost respect for their service department, and got stuck with an exorbitant bill. I'm sorry, but I've had better service from other less expensive companies and at a better rate. I only hope that my friends I recommended them to don't end up using them, and embarrass me. Shameful.

It turned out great. They came over fairly quickly and they told me what was wrong. They didn't do any services. They just told me what the problem was. I realized that I had a warranty programme that ended up paying for it.

my first contact with the company was by email on Angie's list. I had picked 3 days that were convenient for them to come out. Got an email that said Mon Oct 21 2013 was a good day for them and I sent an email back saying perfect! I also added that I needed them to come in the morning as I would be going to work in the afternoon. Fri Oct 18 I received a mumbled message on the phone that said "do I still want the appointment" ffurther mumbling "found it on my desk". since it was after 6pm when I got home, I did not call to back andd waited for Monday as agreed. I waited all Mon morning, did not receive a call or an email. At around 11 I called the provider and asked about my appointment. The call recipient "Britney" told me they had technicians call out and they were very busy. I was very frustrated that nobody had called and asked to speak to the manager who never came on the line. I was left hanging. So I called later and spoke to a different receptionist who said the manager was not available and could he call me back later. I was very disappointed. Had to leave for work so I called couple of days later and rescheduled for an appointment on Thurs Oct 31 2013. On Wed Oct 30 I got another mumbled message so I called them back. This time "Britney" tells me they are busy the next morning with "important" jobs, people have called with no heating etc and what did I need done? She was trying to cancel my appointment. I protested and asked to speak to the manager. She changed her tune and said a technician would be out to my house as agreed. Next morning a professional well-mannered technician punctually arrived at my house. Assessed my a/c and heater and told me what I needed to do. He encouraged me to make an appointment to get a full quotation to replace my gas furnace which is functional but over 10 years old; and my a/c whose compressor is shot. He told me energy-wise and cost-wise it was a better idea to replace both now, instead of just the a/c which was my main concern. He also told me it was a good idea to get my gas furnace serviced regularly to improve performance. He was helpful and pleasant. He is the reason I am giving the A for professionalism. The rest of this experience was a waste of my time. I took a morning off to wait for the technician on Oct 21 2013. Being told that the company had "important" jobs lined up did not improve my opinion of this company. Beatrice Gilbert

They did a great job. My only minor quibble is that could have filled underneath the edges of the plastic pad with dirt. Other than that it was a really good experience.

They were outstanding and excellent. They were professional. Justin is the person we worked with; he was good-natured, and it was a treat to work with him. He exceeded our expectations.

They are very good. I have had them for about 6 or 7 years. They recently put in my whole heating and air-conditioning system. They are excellent and they are very punctual too. I have had other companies that say that they are coming, but they don’t even show up, but these guys come. The guy that was here today was excellent and he even got on the roof and cleaned the top out, he was really good. I thought that the price was pretty reasonable because he did a good job. He was also very personable and professional.

I needed the A/C checked to see if it could be fixed or if I needed a new one. The technician did a good job explaining the issue to me and recommending a new unit.

Great! He didn't overcharge me and explained the problem I had simply and thoroughly.

Fabulous! They originally came out because the A/C had stopped working. It turned out our toddler had simply flipped the "boiler" switch and we just didn't notice (oops). Then, a week later, the system stopped working again. This time the switch was definitely on, so we called and they offered to come back out at no charge since it had only been a week since they were out here (no charge for the service call - repairs still charged as normal - which was fine). It turned out to be a totally different issue - an electrical component deep inside the system had failed. The mechanic replaced it and also added some much-needed refrigerant to our system at a reasonable cost. We would definately use them again!

The service was okay. They were adequate. The price that they gave me for the work that I needed to have done was a little high so I called someone else. The service they provided was almost basically free but they wanted to replace my unit for $1,500 and the other company that I called basically just opted with something I wanted to do. They gave me the parts for let us say $5 a piece. But Custom Aire had good customer service and they came out maybe two days after I bought the coupon.

Everything was great. The guy was very nice, prompt and left the place clean. He explained everything very well. I was very happy with them overall.

The experience was great. Sam was on time and polite. He know what he was doing and found the problem quick. Highly recommended!

The service man was professional, on time, and quite helpful. He didn't oversell the services and did a good job explaining what was needed to get my AC back up and running. I would use them again without hesitation.

Call was promptly returned although i called after normal business hours. Technician arrived within the promised hour. He diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. He was also very patient ,courteous and polite.. Now my house no longer feels like a sauna!! I would definitely use again and in fact plan on buying a service contract.

Daryl was extremely thorough, professional and accessible. The servicemen were clean, respectful, and explained each step of the process to us. We would highly recommend this company if you have the misfortune of needing a new AC and furnace!

The gentleman came out and take a look at things and I guess it work that okay but I never got their follow up.

They were prompt, friendly and professional. everything was explained in detail. The new equipment worked fine.

Technician arrived on time and was very personable/friendly yet focused and ready to resolve the problem. He initially quoted an incorrect price for the capacitor BUT after visiting his truck for the needed part he came back and let me know he had given me an incorrect price for the part and adjusted the price (which ended up being lower). That was very honest move.

The provider was very responsive and sent a technician to my house within one day. The technician was very courteous and took the time to explain what he was doing every step of the way. My A/C was up and running within minutes of his arrival. The tech gave me several options regarding repair and most importantly, didn't give me the feeling that I was being taken advantage of. I recommend this provider to everyone.

The installation of the AC went smoothly, though we had some issues with the oil boiler, which Custom Aire really went above and beyond to correct. The employees are friendly (some of the nicest I've met) and VP Scott Schneider is a good guy. I plan to keep giving them my business to service the equipment.
