This required two visits and additional charges, but the second tech refused to leave until he diagnosed the problem. In general, Custom Aire does end up fixing the unit every time, but the quality of the techs vary. The office staff always does a great job trying to schedule you in as quickly as possible.

I tried to contact this company many times. They have been unresponsive and unable to coordinate a time.

Everything turned out well. They showed on time, scheduling was easy, and they accurately diagnosed the unit's problem.

There was never a solid line of communication, and I had a very difficult time getting anything scheduled so I decided to go with another provider.

Custom Aire initially came out to diagnose an issue with the AC not working. The tech found that there was a leak in the heat exchanger coil. The coil needed to be replaced and he gave me an idea of the cost. Custom Aire called me the next day with a quote. Coil was ordered. A week later they came and installed it Everyone was punctual and professional. They did find another issue with the outside compressor once the coil was installed which ended up costing another $500, bringing the total to $3100

The quality of service matched what we have come to expect from Custom Aire using their HVAC maintenance plan since 1994, and a few years ago replacing both with high efficiency options. I first heard about them in the early 90's while delivering mail in nearby Wissahickon Hills, where an elderly postal patron was a happy repeat customer.

It went well. John came and inspected our two air conditioning systems. We ended up having some repairs.

In August our A/C wasn't working so we called Custom Aire to come out and diagnosis the problem. They came out the same day we called, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. In October we called them again since our heat wasn't working and again they came out the same day and fixed the problem right away. I will continue to use them in the future.

Justin Carlson came out to give me an estimate for the duct cleaning and the H/A unit. he was very professional and very friendly he went over the work that needs to be done and educated me about all the things I need to watch for . he tried to match the estimate i got from someone else but the price was around $1000 off. i would definitely use his service if the price was a little closer. in the end, i have all respect for the guy and i highly recommend him.

The problem began with a broken blower, which resulted in an AC that fails to cool our house. I had someone from Custom Aire to diagnose and make some recommendation. We were lucky enough that the problem occurred during some of the cooler days in August. Custom Aire recommended that I replace the furnace, stating that the existing unit was old and inefficient. They provided some alternatives with a variety of price tags. I decided to go midway. Instead of just replacing the blower I replaced the entire furnace. Yes, it's the middle of Summer and honestly I could have waited a little before replacing the furnace, but I remember that my heating bill was always high and hoping I can reduce the bill with a more efficient furnace. This is why I waited till winter is over to write a review. The new unit reduced my heating bill up to half. So I am happy. Custom Aire crew were very professional. They wear protective cloth over their shoes and were very polite, quiet, clean, and very efficient. They took breaks outside, probably because it was also a nice day outside, but I think otherwise they probably would have stayed in their car. Either way, it was very nice of them to do so, that way I can do my work without distractions. I live in a small row home and the path to the HVAC unit was not exactly wide open, and yet they managed to work without any problems. When they are done, they showed me what they did and cleaned out the surrounding area too! The supervisor stopped by to inspect the job done, I paid them, they give me a receipt and the product manual, etc. I will be using this company again in the future.

I have used Custom Aire for the past 5 years on a consistent basis. I have a few Annual Service Contracts with them. They have done a few HVAC installations for me - on one, I ran into a problem with the Manufacturer/Equipment, and Custom-Aire was instrumental in resolving it for me. They take responsibility for when a tech is uncertain, and are professional when I need to elevate an issue (which was rare). They've been forth right and truthful - I don't mind paying more for integrity and character. |Joseph Thomas

I called Custom Aire on Tuesday 2/25 for an appointment. They did offer a later same day appointment but since I was not at home he offered an appointment for the next morning at 10AM, which I accepted. On Wednesday at 10:17AM I called to find out what was going on.With no apology, just kind of matter-of-factly, I was told that yes, well they always have their weekly meetings on Wednesday mornings. Oh. Well, I am still unclear why I would have been offered an appointment during a time when they have their internal 'weekly meetings' but okay. I still had to wait. I called again at 10:59 to inquire if someone was still coming out. I was then told (again, just matter-of factly and without an apology, the the driver had to 'stop by the nearby warehouse on his way'. Oh. Still unclear as to why someone could not have at leasst called and told me repairman would be late.Or, maybe even apologize for the delay. The repairman got to my door at 11:11 with no apology for being late. Apparently, he just did not care about punctuality.He was polite enough and did not say much during the repair. He had to leave to get the needed part, but, got the heater working upon his return. Unclear why the part was $101 more than he originally wrote down. I did get a service agreement as they are nearby my residence in the event of another issue but I am hoping for a more prompt appointment next time.

They fixed it and signed me up for one of their service plans. Tech put his phone number on receipt. Few months later they came out to clean the heater. The tech that cleaned the heater said my heater is putting out lethal amounts of carbon dioxide and put a sticker on it and shut it down. I called the tech and they came out and fixed it. I paid $1500 dollars extra to get it fixed and then they said that it is not their problem. It seemed John was stealing work from Custom Aire.

Very professional, arrived on time as promised. Evaluated the system (we had lived in this house less than 3 months at that point) and determined lack of care by previous owners. Took the time necessary explain the issues and correct them. I was impressed enough to sign up for an annual maintenance contract with them. They have since been back for routine maintenance visit and had same serviceman who remembered our prior issues and asked if everything was ok. It was and we are happy customers.

Everything went fine. The price seemed reasonable for the service. Scheduling went well and it did not take long to schedule. The technician was nice and he arrived on time for the appointment. I have now signed up a year long contract with them.

First of all, they were very responsive to our inquiries and had someone at the house on short notice. The technician, Sam, was very professional, conscientious and seemed to know his stuff. The only issue I have with this company is with pricing. The price to repair the issue was $400 more than 2 other companies that I called. I also had them estimate cost for replacement of the heat pump. The estimates ranged from $6500 to over $9000 for just the outside unit. We have since retained estimates from multiple other companies to replace both the inside and outside units for $6000-8200 total. These more recent quotes are for units that are similar, or even better, efficiency wise.

During a major snow storm and power outage, I am sure we were not the only ones without heat. We had power but our heat was not working. Within 4 hours of calling Dan from Custom Aire was out. He worked diligently on our heat while providing details of what may have happened. A part needed to be ordered directly from the manufacturer and Dan spent over an hour on hold to get the part ordered. Before leaving he took the time to give me alternative ways to keep heat in the house since I had 2 small kids. He was incredibly personable and professional. He followed up later that afternoon as he had promised and scheduled to come out the very next day to complete the job. Highly recommend, great experience!

Great service and options to fix were given with prices.

This worked out fine. They were able to fix them problem in a timely manner. They also took the time to explain the problem and why they fixed it. Scheduling was easy as well. They fixed it well and I have not any issues with the unit since.

Went very well. I thought the diagnostic fee could have been waived. A bit pricey.

I was not having problems but the service team was professional and seemed to know their business.

As it turns out, my heater was fine and he told me it was the gas pressure that effected the heater. I was reluctant to believe him but Joe was absolutely right. He returned for another visit to replace a part to my gas fireplace. Unfortunately, after replacing that piece he determined I need another piece so we are waiting for that to come in. Joe was professional and knowledgeable. I was very grateful they responded to my service request so quickly. I would definitely recommend this company.

I was very grateful that they came on such short notice and helped me out when I really needed the help. I will definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone that needs HVAC help.
