Toyota of Ardmore Re: 2008 Jeep Wrangler X I have wait quite a few months to allow the Toyota of Ardmore to respond to my request for some sort of restitution to the issues I have experienced with the 2008 Jeep Wrangler I purchased from them on 1/12/2019. I have not received any response to my previous emails to the manager of used cars, Dan McBrearty. He is aware of the issue we will refer to as the “death wobble” which is when the front wheels go crazy upon reaching approximately 55 to 60 miles per hour This is what I have experiencing with this vehicle When I test drove this vehicle, I was not able to get above 45 miles per hour since we were driving on roads around your dealership. Any highways, which would have allowed me to test drive this vehicle are not close to this dealership. I understand that I purchased this vehicle on an “as is” understanding, however, this vehicle was not safe to drive on any highway and never should have passed a state inspection. The main reason I decided to purchase this vehicle from this dealership is that I felt since they seem to run a prominent and successful dealership, I felt better buying from them as opposed to some corner car lot sprinkled through the area. I was assured by Frank, my salesman, that the dealership performed a state inspection on this vehicle and it passed with flying colors so I felt safe buying this vehicle due to this statement. He even produced a car fax report and the vehicle inspection paperwork The fact that this vehicle passed inspection, was obviously not the case. There is no way this vehicle should have padded any sort of state inspection I have not been able to drive this vehicle since I purchased it. It has been at my mechanic since I drove it there on 1/14/19 They are going by the recommended steps directed by Chrysler with respect to this issue This is what they have done so far: High speed wheel balancing New steering stabilizer New track bar New control arms So far, none of these replacement parts have solved the issue. The next step is to replace the tie rods and from there, ball joints I trust this mechanic with every other vehicle I have purchased I have been dealing with them for years and they know what they are doing When I first notified Frank of this issue, all he kept saying is that I bought it “as is” He flat out refused to try to rectify this issue. In fact, he was quite rude when I brought up the issues I experienced. I have purchased many vehicles on an “as is” understanding I understand the issues that could arise associated with buying a vehicle under this statement I understand that a vehicle may need tires, brakes, maybe some bodywork or some engine part of some sort, but always was able to at least drive said vehicle safely on roads This vehicle is under no circumstances safe to drive and it my contention that this issue should have been caught by your dealership during state inspection. I was barely on 476 upon leaving the dealership when the “death wobble” occurred. If you are not familiar with this issue, the vehicle becomes impossible to control. If you are curious, just look up “death wobble” on you tube. The dealerships contention is that they did not know when the issue occurred, like it happened all of a sudden after a few miles away from your dealership. This issue is not something that all of a sudden occurs. It happens subtly over time and is difficult to remedy Again, I say that this issue should have been remedied at the dealership prior to any sale. It should be the responsibility of a dealership with their standing to at the very least, assure that any vehicle sold by them is a least safe to drive and not a death trap. On a less important issue, the right side turn signal works intermittently which is another issue that should have been solved at the dealership in order to pass inspection. Again, when a so called reputable dealership tells you that a particular vehicle passed a state inspection, you should feel confident that said vehicle is at the very least safe to drive. I am writing this review to warn any other potential buyers of used cars from this dealership to be aware of my issue and possibly same them from anything like I have experienced from this dealership. They were great. It happened to be right around the financial crisis crash, so I had no bargaining power whatsoever with this car. The Prius dealers literally told me that they were selling the car at full price. We ordered the car and they told us it was not going to arrive until December. Suddenly the crisis hit and we still needed to buy the car, and somebody told me to try to bargain for it. I contacted the Prius dealers and then I had all of them calling me to sell me that car. I went back to Ardmore, and they ended up matching the other offers and it was in on the following Tuesday.

The issue seemed to resolve itself for a while but it returned. It began leaking again. Responsiveness was fine. They didn't get to the root of the problem. They treated the symptom. The car might've been about 4 years old and wouldn't have been covered under warranty. Hire better trained technicians.
Description of Work: I was having an issue with my Prius. They couldn't diagnose the problem despite the fact they had a factory trained mechanic to look at it. They drained the radiator to get the air out and refilled it.

I brought my car to Ardmore Toyota after moving to the area from out of state and having a really bad experience with another Toyota dealership closer to my house. Ardmore was a breath of fresh air, and I finally found a dealership that I am as comfortable with as I was with the dealership where I bought my car before relocating! The first time I brought the car in to Ardmore, I needed it checked for a clunking noise that had appeared after bringing it to the dealership closer to my house. Although they found nothing wrong, one of the technicians was willing to drive around the neighborhood with me listening for the sound (which they had miraculously fixed without knowing!). They charged me nothing for the inspection and the time spent. Needless to say, I brought my car back for its 50,000 mile service and an oil change. My service advisor noticed that I have synthetic oil in my car and it didn't need to be replaced every 5,000 miles, unlike what the previous dealership had told me. He also walked me through all the previous service that had been done to the car and picked out the checks that needed to be performed this time around. Many of my earlier maintenance visits for other cars had cost upward of $500 for various replacements that probably weren't necessary, so I really appreciated the honesty, openness, and desire to keep my car safe while saving me money. A great place!

They're great. I have zero complaints with those guys. It was very high. They're really good. They actually have shuttle service. I don't live too far from them but so you can drop your car off and then they got a courtesy shuttle that can take you where you need to go. If you have a Toyota, go with the dealer who's reputable and really knows the product. They're very transparent. They're excellent.
Description of Work: One of my cars needed some repair work so I took it to Ardmore Toyota. They did the full inspections, ignitions, oil change, tire rotation and a bunch of other stuff that were starting to go. They did a water pump change and replaced 2 tires.

Provider performed 82,500 mile service on my vehicle. Service advisor told me I needed a new auxiliary battery. I had just replaced the auxiliary battery in August 2012. The car diagnostics told me when I needed an auxiliary battery. I did not buy the battery at Ardmore Toyota. The service advisor also told me my tires barely passed inspection and suggested that I buy at least 2 tires. I went to Conicelli Toyota in August with the same tires. Conicelli told me my tires were at 4 32nd in August. It seems the service advisor at Ardmore Toyota was willing to sell me items I did not really need. When I told the advisor I purchased the auxiliary battery in August 2012 he told me he did not have any record of it. I told him I did not purchase the battery from Ardmore Toyota or any other Toyota Dealership. It appears he tried to sell me a battery because he saw my car was five years old and his records did not show that I replaced the auxiliary battery. I will never return to Ardmore Toyota for service even though I purchased free oil changes when I purchased my vehicle from them in 2009.

Buying a car can be horrible. I had a good experience. They had all the paperwork ready before I arrived. Every 4th day I got an email keeping me updated. They let me know immediately of any status updates. It was not a typical car buying experience and I have bought many cars. The car was ready for me and it was clean. Everything was exactly how I would have choreographed it, if it was up to me.

The experience has been good overall. Their attention to customer service and informing the customer during the process of what's going on is what really stands out. In the past, I've had major work done and they always kept me informed of what was going on. It's a bit more pricey, but the quality is worth it!

I purchased my 2012 Corolla from Ardmore Toyota 3 months ago. At the time, a USB iPhone/charger was included to connect my phone to the Entune system that came with the vehicle. Initially, it worked fine but one day I noticed no connection. When I attempted to plug it into the USB port again, a message flashed on my screen "Power consumption of USB device too high." I was concerned about a possible electrical issue or power surge so I made an appointment for service at 3 pm on a weekday and left work early. When I arrived, I told the service advisor I would be waiting. After almost a half hour passed, I walked outside and saw my Corolla was still in the same parking spot. About 10 minutes later, I was walking around again, and a woman from the service desk approached and said she would check. A few minutes later, I was called to speak to the technician about the problem, but the power consumption message did not appear. He said he would check the fuses and try another power cord. A short time later, another woman informed me my car was done and the problem was with my USB cord/charger. I had no other contact with the original service advisor and although there was no charge, the explanation on the invoice was not written clearly. As i was leaving, I noticed some dark black spots on the front passenger seat and a dirt smudge on the outside of the glove compartment. Only the driver's seat had been covered in plastic as was the floor mat, When I arrived home, I vacuumed the seat to remove the dirt. All but one spot and a lighter smudge was removed, which I cleaned with a spot remover. That night, I emailed the Service Manager about the condition of my vehicle and have yet to receive a response.I expect a higher level of care from a Toyota dealership. I understand the service technicians may have dirt on their hands and clothes and appreciate that they cover the driver's seat, but it doesn't take much effort to cover the front passenger seat too. Also, service technicians should make sure the car is in the same condition as received before returning to the customer. I expect them to clean up after themselves. On another note, this was my second service appointment. In each instance, I arrived in advance of my scheduled time, but my car was not taken to the service area until at least half hour later. Both of these appointments were no charge, so I don't know if that was the reason I had to wait, but if it happens a third time, I will be going to another dealership. My time is valuable too. Update (9/1/12) - I received a call from the Assistant Service Manager today, and he apologized for the condition of my vehicle and the delay in wait time. He answered other questions and offered a full detail of my car.
Description of Work: I took my 2012 Corolla LE in for service due to have the electrical system checked because the USB connector/charger had stopped working and I could not use the Entune feature in the vehicle. The technician checked the electrical system and the fuses and determined it was a problem with the USB connection cord, rather than the vehicle. I was advised to replace the USB charger.

Let me begin by saying that I purchased my car at Ardmore Toyota, and had it serviced there several times before this last visit. My experience had been positive up until that point. What happened was that I booked my appointment online, after receiving an email offering a discount if I used that medium. I also noticed a weird, high pitched sound coming from the engine that I wanted checked out, since the car was still under warranty. When I arrived at the shop for my appointment, they informed me that the price was higher than what was listed on their own website. I agreed to still have the work done, because the price they told me in person was not too much more than online. The problem was that when I went to pick up the car, they gave me a bill for over $500. This was about double what they had told me when I dropped the car off, so naturally I was confused. The extra charges were for a wheel alignment, and cleaning of the air vents in the car. I was under the impression that these services were included in the cost of the 30 K service, since they had been listed that way on the website. Silly me. Turns out when they asked me if I wanted these services done, it was for an extra charge. They did not mention this when asking me. I will admit that I should have paid closer attention to the fine print, but I never imagined that these two services were not included, since they had been listed as such online. I thought it was weird that they were asking me about them, since I was under the impression that they were included. So it is my fault for not asking more questions about the charges upfront. The bottom line was that their website prices, and list of services provided, were completely different than what was actually charged in the shop. This was very misleading, and confusing. So I spoke with a manager, and they knocked $100 off the service. I was not terribly happy about this, but figured I was stuck, so I agreed to pay it. I asked them about the engine noise, and they said they did not hear anything, which I thought was strange, since it was very noticeable. I got in the car, and heard the noise as soon as I turned it on. Obviously they had forgotten about checking this out. I went back inside, and they had a mechanic ride around the block with me. At first he pretended like he didn't hear it, but then admitted that it was there. He took the car back inside for about 10 minutes. Upon bringing the car back, he informed me that there was a problem with the alternator, and that he had ordered the necessary part. He told me that I would get a call from the service department to set up a time to fix the problem. Well, that call never came, and honestly I would not have gone back if it had. I took the car to another Toyota dealer, and they fixed the alternator without any difficulty, or drama. I gave my experience very bad marks when Toyota sent me a customer service survey. That prompted Ardmore Toyota to call me. I was unable to talk the first time they called (6:30 pm on a weekday), so we set up a time later in the week. Of course the gentleman failed to call me at that time. Upon calling his office, the secretary informed me that he was unavailable, and would call me back. That never happened. At that point I really didn't care anymore, and knew that I would never go to them again for anything. They made a few extra bucks off me in the short term, but cost themselves thousands down the road, because I probably would have gone to them for a new car. At the very least I would have continued to have the car serviced there. Not a great experience to say the least.
Description of Work: Emission and state inspection performed as well as 30,000 mile service. Asked them to check out a weird engine noise, since the car was still under warranty.

We used them two months ago. Their price was actually very good. Although they were related to Toyota, we compared their price with others in the area and these were actually very competitive. We were very satisfied with their service.

I am in there every other week. They are wonderful and our visits have been excellent. They are very customer friendly. They are extremely helpful, detailed about what they are going to do and how much it would cost. It is just a very responsible, friendly and a helpful place especially for women. We would definitely use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: We take 4 cars to Ardmore Toyota Scion and they are a dealership. Our last interaction with them was in February. They have done all kinds of normal maintenance and repair work like tires, auto body repair and normal repairs.

They have a nice waiting room to wait in while the service is being done or I can use their valet service. They have a van to take me where I need to go and they will pick me up. Their prices are moderate to high but they send coupons every month, which balances out the overall expense. I will absolutely go back to them. I've had no issues with them.
Description of Work: I used Ardmore Toyota for routine maintenance and a state inspection.

They are fine. They are convenient and timely. Their prices are pretty good. I have never had a problem. They always get us in for an appointment quickly. They are knowledgeable and professional. If I was buying a Toyota again, I would definitely look there first. Every once in a while I get an oil change free and I don't know how, to be honest. Their price for an oil change is really good. I always get appointments when I want them. The car is returned on time. They are knowledgeable. They go over and provide the quote beforehand. Before they do the work, they make sure they call us and tell us what they are going to do.
Description of Work: I take my car to the auto dealer for regular oil changes and regular service. I had my car serviced in the last 2 or 3 months.

They are very accommodating and nice to do business with. They are very pleasant and give good service. The servicing is done in a reasonable period of time and they call me when it's done. I expect the dealership to be like that and that is the reason why I bought a car there.
