SCAMMERS** They charged me $1500 for a service that I paid $384 dollars for a few years ago (and those were emergency rates at the time, during a storm). I assumed the $1500 was because it would be a long, difficult job. But they were complete in under an hour, and still charged the $1500, just to clean out debris under a valley on our tile roof. So they either just feel its ok to increase prices 300% or saw that I live in Lake Oswego and charged more because of my zip code. They were unwilling to budge on price. The picture attached is from a few years ago, the latest job had less than half the debris from the previous, so they were in and out very quickly.

The roof was installed in 2007. Leaks appeared around 2017 and continued each year until I contracted a new roof in 2023. They made repairs each year including a new skylight. Early repairs were no charge and later ones by the hour. Still leaks persisted. The owner believes I had insufficient ventilation and while I agree, I know the leaks were from holes in the roof as demonstrated with rusty nails, leaks around skylight and rust around pipe flashing. Roofer really never took ownership of problem by providing a complete repair solution, was difficult to contact and get callbacks. Why did my roof fail? Poor workmanship? Bad shingle product? I don’t know, but when my 50 year roof leaks year after year, I expect my installer to make my problem a priority and solve it. I don’t mind paying for material and even labor, but I can’t have the problem persist. I felt like I was a low priority.

Work was generally acceptable, but the project took way longer than it should have. Poor communication from their end. They left the project incomplete for several weeks, not letting us know what was going on, when it seemed only a few small details needed to be addressed. One major issue was that they removed the kitchen exhaust vent and ductwork, but failed to replace it. We had to remind them about this on multiple occasions before it was finally addressed.

The roofing job is perfect! It really adds to the looks and value of the home. New shingle technology has surely come a long way. The entire roof (23 squares approx.) was done in 1-1/2 days with a 3 man crew. I was very impressed by their expertise, their methodical work, and their kindness. They were a good crew, and very experienced in what they were doing. All work areas were cleaned up afterward, and the disposal can removal service arrived shortly thereafter. It's really amazing to see the new roof, the color we chose, and how it blends with the gardens we have. This is the ONLY company I would recommend, esp. if you want 'high quality' and if you want a guarantee/warranty in workmanship and all roofing parts. We reviewed and got bids from 5 companies before 'zeroing' in on the best. Honestly, this is the best positioned company in the roofing market with the right price/quality/warranty point-of-sales. It's the BEST!!!
Description of Work: Completely removed the existing shingled roof and replaced it with a GAF style roof with modern enhancements (Z-Ridge, edge ridge, flashing, rubber booted vents, synthetic underlayment, etc.).

The estimator, Ryan came out to estimate. Estimator was not on time but did call to inform us. We needed a modified estimate (no roof work, just new gutters). We called about 8 times over a period of 2 months and always heard the same story "we will get back to you right away". We still don't have an estimate to date. Our best guess at this point is that just didn't want the work because it is not the whole roof. If that is any indication, it certainly is not again.

The provider was called to provide an estimate on possible roof repair. First the guy I talked to on the phone didn't want to come out and check it out he said he had to charge for a roof inspection which I didn't agree to. I told him there was possible repair since we had a few cedar shakes on the ground and wanted to know what repair was needed. He finally agreed to do a free estimate but put the appointment a week out. The estimator just showed up and rang the door bell and said he could see 4 problems just looking from the door and we needed a whole new roof without even inspecting the roof. I just had to previous companies out and neither of them said that in face the one said the roof was perfectly fine and the few shingles that feel could wait a few months for repair when the weather was nicer. Both the previous companies said the overall roof condition was fine but a few minor repairs were needed both physically inspected the roof unlike the estimator from Western Pacific Roofing who could just tell from driving up and my front door that the whole roof was bad and needed to be replaced. He wanted to come back and meet with me an my husband on a different day to talk and refused to get on the roof to inspect it. I told him no I was not interested and that was that. I will definitely not be doing any business with this company in the future and do not recommend them to anyone else based on my experience. I

We will likely not go with Steve at Western Pacific Roofing, given that the other five companies and my homeowners adjuster all felt a new roof was not needed and our roof was rated very good to excellent condition by tall he others; however, should structural engineer state otherwise then that is a new conversation. Additionally the estimates for a new roof on our home based on the size/shape etc were verbally told be be closer to $15-20K verses the 12K- if a roof was needed- so maybe the company is a great price point. Steve arrived early and presented as professional, ultimately I am concerned with an assessment of my roof done by an individual who does not do roof repairs or replacements and responsible for sales that differs so dramatically then all the other roofers.
Description of Work: We called to have a roof inspection after discovering water damage in our house, we have had six roofers here. Four roofers and insurance company had no idea why the damage inside my home has occurred but no new roof was needed. Insurance company determined a structural engineer is required to assess and determine cause. One of the original six; a seasoned roofer felt strongly that new, higher quality flashing was required given the wind storm and the windiness of our area. Then Steve who came today reports he has never done actual roofing work, unsure how the damage had occurred - until my spouse offered up the assessment of a 25 year roofer; Steve felt this was reasonable; however we needed a new roof stating that a business card should not be able to slide between/under shingles. He stated our adhesive is completely worn- I am not a roofer but I wound how much the heavy rains and winds impact such an assessment....

The inspector was on time, did a very thorough job, and was quite pleasant and professional. However, we needed the estimates to finalize our negotiations on the home - in other words, we were on a timeline. He assured me that he would have an estimate the next day. Well, he did not, but assured me by the end of the week (which was our deadline) he would have them. To date, neither he nor the company has returned calls, texts, nor emails from myself, my husband, and our realtor.

Provider was called to assess and fix roof leaks. Provider noted the age of the roof and asked whether we were interested in a bid for roof replacement. Provider gave a bid for both roof replacement and roof repair, with no pressure to reroof (several years out on that). Provider was contracted to repair the leaks, which they did. They kept in touch with us for scheduling and came when they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves. During the original assessment, only one person came with a very long ladder and needed homeowner's assistance to set up the ladder. He stepped in a freshly dug vegetable bed, but no one had asked him to avoid it. When the work was done, two people came to set up the ladder, and the roofer carefully avoided the vegetable bed, once it was pointed out. The only concern about the contract was around the warranty. Original bid provided a year warranty, but the provider pulled back on that and would only provide a 90 day warranty. We weren't sure why the change, were not fully comfortable with it, but continued with the work, which seems to have been done competently (we will see when the rains return).
Description of Work: Provider replaced cracked roof vents and flashing around the chimney.

I obtained estimates from three companies and chose Western Pacific over the other two primarily due to their honesty and reasonable price. I'm an experienced handyman and know construction well and this was the only company that did not try to insist on items that were not required to complete the requested job. The work was accomplished on time as scheduled and the workman was a pleasure to do business with as well as the estimator. He was fast and described the repair process as he completed the job. The mark of a craftsman is when he can make a job appear very easy, who enjoys his job and takes pride in his work. When the time comes to re-roof our house, this will be the only roofing company I will contact
Description of Work: We had several leaks develop in our roof during the previous year. Most were due to aged roof jacks and two were from skylights that were improperly installed when the house was built. Roofing was removed from around the repair area to allow new roofing to be bordering the new roof jacks and the new skylight flashing to allow for a like-new seal and to prevent the possibility of introducing a new leak from damaging the present roofing material that has been on the house for 17 years since it's construction. The repair was virtually invisible after completion and the leaks are gone.

Alan Freeman answered my phone call on a Thursday afternoon about a roof leaf at our office (Goldman Carpet Care and restoration), in Salem. On his way home that evening he squeezed us in and came by. Also gave an estimate on what they'd charge to fix our leaky roof but said how much we would benifet from a brand new roof on the whole building. He made a temperary fix and tarped up our mess. Being a holiday weekend and all, we discussed prices, I called him at 8pm that evening and to my surprise he answered the call and got our roof on the books for the following day. They replaced our whole office roof in a very timely manor, cleaned up the area when they were done, and got us in so quickly with our emergency situation on the holiday weekend. When I called around later to compare prices just to see if I got a deal or not, with the square footage of our building, Ifound out that I got a steal of a deal! I called this same gentleman back last month to come and do the roof on my home. Thank you to Alan Freeman and Western Pacific Roofing for my roof at home and my office. Would definetaly use this company again and will spread the word!

My wife and I noticed our ceiling tile started to droop and a water spot developing over the last couple of weeks. After we determined that it was not going away we decided to find someone to help us out. We found West Pacific Roofing on Angie's List and gave them a call. The woman on the phone was incredibly nice and helpful and scheduled someone to come out the very next day! Mr. Cannucci showed up to the house on time and very cheerful. After spending quite a bit of time looking over where the problem was and our roof he gave me a very very reasonable quote for repair. As we were talking however, he noticed we had an air conditioning unit in the window above where the roof was sagging. He asked several questions and asked to go see the unit. As it turns out the window unit was leaking down between the window and the wall! He gave me some suggestions as far as what to do next and told me it should be fine once we remove that unit! I am so happy with his honesty and helpfulness. He really went the extra mile looking at all the potential causes for the problem and figured out the least expensive fix - JUST REMOVE THE UNIT! =) Thank you !

when I first considered a re-roof I called WPR in the winter, the owner Alan came out and discussed with me in good detail my options. He was not pushing the latest and greatest in ventilation that I would later find out every other contractor was doing. Venting products add up! He said your house has breathed well for almost 90 years so we're just going to add a few more vents (to code) and be good. After I had 8 other roofing estimates I decided to call Alan up to come out again to talk some more. His price was on the bottom end of what I was receiving and wow, you get some fliers out there; like $13k for a $6k roof job! You are not supposed to take the lowest bidder like everyone says, but for me I understood where the savings were...venting and skylights and just overall not trying to charge ridiculous margins; I also felt that Alan was a straight shooter and not out to gouge me. For instance I asked a few roofers to give me the breakout prices for the skylights and who they were getting from. Most were using the same supplier and the differences in markups on the skylights was significant. I signed the contract and waited to be contacted for scheduling. The only negative I have to say about WPR was the scheduling. The PM called me one day and said he wanted to schedule me; due to the weather that week he said he'd call back. Well I waited 2 days and called him! When he answered he said...oh, didn't I call you today? I replied...no. Oh, well, I have a crew at your house right now tearing off your roof. For me..I was fine with it b/c the work was being done so no more anticipation, but for others this may have been an issue due to an unplanned surprise roof job. PM Troy is a great guy and went above and beyond for me from the day he stepped on the project to the very end...communication was great once work started. I'm very happy with the finished product and professionalism used while installing the new roof. Cleanup was good too. Next year or soon thereafter I'll be doing a re-roof for my garage and I'll definitely be calling WPR. I recommend them!!! Thanks guys!

So I told him over the phone that I didn't feel like paying another $250 for the same problem I had two years ago and that I found someone else to come out. I told him, jokingly, that he probably didn't care because they most likely have a lot of work right now with the extreme amount of rain right now and basically, his answer to me was "Yep, I have a stack of files right here." So....I am guessing they are not behind the work they perform (no guarantees) which was kind of shocking to me.The worker that came out two years ago was great and the office people seem nice but I would certainly look for someone else that stands behind their work and is at a more reasonable rate.
Description of Work: I had them come out two years ago when I had a leak in my roof. It ended up being the flashing and was fixed in 15 minutes. It was $250 but I understand that was because it was an emergency. The leak is back (exact same place) and I called and they want to charge another $250 to come out (this is their flat rate for 2 hours of service whether or not it takes 2 hours). Or, and I'm not sure how this works, they will come out for an estimate and then perform the service at a later date...but with a leak, is this really an option for most people???

Our emergency repair (after hours) charge is $250. for the first 2 hours, plus materials, and $85/hour after that. The regular repair rate is $85/hour, plus materials. Most companies give no warranty on repairs done on a roof put on by another company. We usually offer a 1 year warranty on repairs done on such a roof. We can't however, give a long term warranty on repairs done, on another companies roofing job. We do give a 10 year workmanship warranty on most residential complete roof jobs. Sorry we couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks for the business. Western Pacific Roofing, management

The work turned out great and we were very happy. I thought that the workers were top rate; every day they cleaned up and after the job was totally complete they walked around the yard with us to make sure there wasn't anything they had missed to clean up. In the middle of December, we had an emergency roof leak. We quickly accessed Angie's List for their list of top roofers, and Western Pacific Roofing was highly rated. We called and scheduled a same day emergency repair (water was dripping INSIDE the house). Several hours later a very nice Spanish repair guy was at our door, and went to work. He installed a temporary fix (a tarp) and told us the office would respond in the next day for a more permanent solution. He also described exactly what was wrong with the roof. About a MONTH later, we finally received a bill for the initial repair work. We called several times and told them we needed someone to come out and fix the roof! Finally we got someone out to the house again. The guy that arrived was Greg Brandt. First of all, Greg almost didn't arrive as he called and told us he was lost, and spent his time on the phone with us complaining about the people in the office. Instead of simply asking for directions, he very unprofessionally and rudely complained about them. Once greg arrived, he stared at the roof and when my wife explained we needed him to give us an estimate for the repair and to tell us what was wrong he said "Well I didn't bring any equipment" making us wonder why he even showed up. He then left and told us he will be back with spiked shoes and a ladder. After a few days we called the office and asked what was going on. The office staff (who by the way was fantastic and friendly) told us she'd call Greg. Ten minutes later Greg called without introducing himself and said "Your roof will cost $525." My wife then challenged him about how he figured that out without looking at the roof, and his reply was "It is what it is." My wife told me he was quite condescending to her, and treated her with that good ol' boy - "where's your old man" attitude. Since they really never did much work, I cannot review the quality of what may have been. But, I can tell you that if you want a professional opinion from a professional contractor, this is NOT the company to use. Unfortunately for Western Pacific Roofing, we were actually planning on them doing a more complete repair than just the leak, as many shingles are loose besides the leak area. Also, we are planning on a complete new roof to be installed in the summer. Obviously Western Pacific Roofing will not be our choice.

Western Pacific Roofing LLC sincerly appologizes for any and all misunderstandings in regards to the scheduling and the entire process of repairs and the billing of such repairs. We believe that in this circumstance, there were several misunderstandings. We replaced our Production Manager just after the first of the year. It appears that the Members return repair was one which was not handled properly and we sincerly appologize. We would love to earn the confidence of the Members and work with them but understand if that is not possible. Again, we sincerly appologize and hope that there will be some consideration for replacing a key person in the production team.

This company was great. The man who did the work was most thorough, and did a great cleaning on the roof. My husband went up on the roof and checked his work, and it was done just as Greg had explained. We were happy with the company, the job, and the price. They were not the least expensive quote, but I felt with this company I got the most for my money...So an excellent value. My only compalint was they did not come on the day we had scheduled, and did not call, but that was also one of the first hard rains and knew they were probably super busy running around covering up roofs, hence the B rating on promptitude. It through the gutter job off the schedule. They were there first thing the next day, and everything went as planned.
Description of Work: I have a tile roof that needed anti-pond flashing, and valleys that had a leak on one earlier in the year. The previous guy said all the valleys would leak eventually, so had the tile removed, installed ice and water shield, repair felt underlayment, and replace the tile on 5 vallies, replace all the plumbing flashings with lead, pressure wash the roof and gutters, and installed around the perimeter of the roof the anti ponding material, which was a large metal flashing, and required the first couple of layers of tile to be removed.

I called Western Pacific and several other companies in December to perform this work. I would have waited until Spring but I had a rental in real need of a roof replacement and I wanted to get the work down before I rented the house. Western Pacific was very quick to call me back. They came our right away and performed an estimate. They had good reviews on Angie's list and their price was extremely competitive. There were no issues with Western's CCB. So I contracted with them to do the work. We arranged to do the roofs beginning on a Monday. I was shocked to come home the Friday before to find that they had begun the work. Particularly as it was beginning to snow and the weather report called for freezing rain that weekend. I called the rep I had worked with and he assured me that the crew had sealed up the roof to withstand the weather. They finished the roofs on time with no other events, except that they left some materials around after the job was completed. Shortly thereafter we had heavy rain. Both buildings have wood stoves and there was leaking around the both flues. I callled Western and they got someone out right away to repair the problem. The little house was fine from then on, but the big house flue began to leak again. The repairman came out again right away to work on the flue. He said if there was another problem he would replace it entirely. I has not visibly leaked since. I wanted to see how the roof did before I paid the entire bill. Once the flues seemed fine, he came out and I gave him the final check. He picked up the remaining leftovers from the job. I asked him about some of the tiles that appeared to be not completely glued down. He assured me they would seal when the weather warmed up. I have checked the roof since and some of the shingles are visibly not down and I got on the main house roof and they are clearly not fully sealed. I have called the company twice since and they have not come out and fixed the problem. Apparently once they had my check that was the end of their interest in the work.
Description of Work: Company tore off and replace roofs on both my mother in law house and my main house.
