The Floor Store

They totally stood by their quote. Even though I made a couple of minor changes, they said that they would still keep the same quote. They were extremely professional. They were punctual and came when they said that would be here.

They did the bathroom for us in the other house that we were going to sell. It was a very good deal and it was a very good carpet. The co-owner was fabulous. There was some stuff on the bamboo flooring and I couldn?t get it off. I called and asked what I should do to get it off. They sent someone to clear it off for me. They have a done a lot of work for my brother and his son.

The Floor Store was great to work with. They were knowledgeable on the first phone call and then when I went in to look at samples, they were very understanding about the amount of time I took to select options to take home. I ended up choosing marmoleum because it was the only product in black that was available that would compliment my black tile counter trim. The estimator, Joe, was on time and professional as well as knowledgeable. He encouraged me to select the black option for the kitchen floor and counseled me not to be afraid of the color. His opinion that it would make a dramatic impact turned out to be oh, so true. Another great thing about Joe was his communication with me by email which is my preferred method. The installer and his crew were very professional and also detail oriented. The job took two days to prep and install (Mon/Tue) and Adam came back on Friday to move the refrigerator and stove back in, allowing the floor to set as recommended. They also fixed a few things that I found while cleaning the glue from the floor. The baseboard install was very well done by his very handy carpenter who solved many of the installation problems before they became real problems. He's the kind of guy you'd like to have as a husband! The seam in the kitchen developed some "mountain peaking" about two weeks later after it had settled and I contacted Joe at the Floor Store. He set up a return call by Adam who knew what to do to remedy the issue. I am waiting to see if the seam settles back down and if it doesn't, I know that Adam will come back to deal with it again. He is proud of the work he does!

I called this company for an estimate on replacing vinyl in my kitchen. They called me back, and told me that they would check on something and get back to me in the next day or so. They never did call me back.

It went well. They were a few minutes late but were professional. It turned out the amount of carpet was more than estimated, but it was a tricky layout.

It was fantastic. First, we discovered there was more work than anticipated but they worked with us on cost and stayed on schedule. The guy that was doing the flooring actually stayed until 8:00 pm one night to finish up. They did not want to leave us in lurch. They were wonderful.

Wonderful. John was great to work with. When we found that a light fixture had been broken, they immediately said they would get it fixed. Not many companies would do that. Good product and even better service. Thanks John we will definately use you again!

The process went very smoothly. Ted at the store was very helpful. The man who came to the house to give me an estimate showed up exactly on time, as did the man who laid the floor. The house - and the garage - were spotless when I came home that evening to see my new floor. (They had to cut the vinyl in the garage and that meant sweeping). I was very happy with the work and will contact them again to replace the counter top in the downstairs bathroom.

The Flore Store was exceptionally easy to work with. They were responsive about changes and options and thorough in answering all of my questions. The installation went smoothly and was carried out in a professional manner. I would use The Floor Store again without hesitation.

It was a difficult project, since the condo had been damaged by a burst water pipe and the drywall repairs took longer than predicted. I had sold my home and HAD to get moved in. Tom, the installer, did the living/dining room and the master bedroom so that my furniture and belongings (including a grand piano) could be moved in. He then worked around the mess (and the "finishing up" of the drywall guys) and managed to get my floors finished in spite of the difficulties.

Really happy with The Floor Store. After being disappointed at lack of expertise at my local carpeting store I decided to try The Floor Store based on Angie List recommendations. Was really glad I did. We had picked out carpet we wanted at Paulson's, and so I was able to describe the specific carpet, job and measurements over the phone. They gave me a quote over the phone that was a lot lower than Paulson's and ended up being within $50 of the final estimate after their measurer came out and measured. Installation went really well, installer was nice guy who said he'd been doing carpet installation for 20 years. End results proved him to be as good as he said.

The job cost me around $1000. It was a good experience. They were responsive. The products used by them were of high quality. The workmanship was very good. I made additions throughout the course of the work and they were able to handle it. I?d use them again in the future.

We had excellent customer services with the floor store. Ted was very helpful as was the rest of the staff. We selected a patterned carpet and new carpet pad for our downstairs. I spent 2 months looking everywhere in town for a quality carpet at a reasonable price. The Floor Store had the best price and the best customer service in town. Our carpet installer, Ken Jolly, was the best! There was absolutely no damage to the our home during the install process and the Ken did an excellent job on the install. He is definitely a pro. We hired Ken again for the carpet install in our rental home. We also had the carpet replaced in our rental home with carpet from the Floor Store. Krystal was extremely helpful in assisting me with selecting a great carpet for our rental home. I would highly recommend The Floor Store.

The estimator did not thoroughly examine for any possible repairs. We again reiterated to the estimator that we did not plan to remove the radiators. We received an estimate they next day via fax. The estimator called to explain the estimate and spoke with our nanny (who is extremely reliable). Our nanny also reiterated to the estimator that we did not plan to pull the radiator. The estimator explained to our nanny, as we had been previously reassured, that they would work around the radiator. The faxed estimate stated "Recommend pulling & resetting radiator in bathroom linoleum area." We were confused by this as we had discussed this multiple times that we would not pull the radiator. We called the store to clarify that 1) we were not planning to pull the radiator and 2) could the work be accomplished without pulling the radiator? The initial person we spoke with could not answer these questions and we were transferred to a salesman who stated yes the work could be done around the radiator but with an inferior cosmetic result, which we explained to the Floor Store salesman that we were willing to accept as this area is hidden and usually shielded by a door. We informed the salesman that we would not pull the radiator. The floor store salesman agreed that this would be acceptable. We then scheduled the work and paid a deposit. When the installation contractor came to the house he immediately said that he couldn't install the marmoleum with the radiator in place. He explained that marmoleum was brittle and would break if bent to wrap around the radiator footing. He rapidly assessed the condition of the floor by simply palpating over the carpet and concluded that there was a large area of dry rot which he was not prepared to repair, and certainly could not repair for a mere hour of extra prep time (note that the estimator was equipped to make the same assessment as he, too, has hands). We then received a phone call from the floor store now stating that pulling the radiator was a requirement and not a recommendation and that work would have to be rescheduled to handle the dry rot. When I protested the representative told me that she had "floor customers staring me in face" and "would have to get back to me." Despite that they had accepted a deposit and had a contractor standing in my home the Floor Store would not resolve the conflict at that time stating the reason was that there were other customers waiting. I subsequently fired them and expect a return of my deposit minus the small amount of time the installation contractor spent. Their response to resolve these issues is to have the store owner call me ... tomorrow.

Ideal. Estimate was very well itemized and readable, and broken down by area, which helped us save by only doing the area we needed. Professional and friendly, no sales pressure like we felt from the other firm who we got a bid from. Top quality work, on the day scheduled, and done quickly. Price matched estimate. We're very pleased.

Picking the flooring was the hard part. Once that was done, John scheduled installation. It took most of a day to do the 2 bathrooms, so a second date was needed for the new rug. Both times the workers came on time. They were courteous, quick, & careful to clean up. I am delighted with the results, & would highly recommend Floor Store without hesitation.

The sales experience: We had visited a boatload of showrooms to find the perfect laminate flooring. We are new to the laminate world and not sure what we needed and where to turn. We felt very comfortable visiting The Floor Store...did not feel like we were being 'sold to' but that we were being shown what they had available that would meet our needs, including not spending too much money. John Fabian was able to answer all of our questions, scheduled the measure (pronto, no lengthy delay) and provided quote. He then answered a dozen more questions and scheduled our install. Couldn't have been easier. The installation experience: The installers (Tom, Jay and Shawn) showed up just as scheduled, ready for work. They worked efficiently and had the majority of the job finished the first day. That evening , we noticed a few of the planks had a different finish than the others, no shine. We addressed it with the installers as well as with John, our salesguy. Shortly after bringing this to their attention, they pulled up a portion of the freshly installed floor and replaced those boards. No hassle at all. I have to say, I was expecting some push-back and there was none. They made sure to carefully inspect the rest of the planks during the install and finished up quickly and cleanly. That night I came home to beautiful shiny new floors. The follow up experience: A continuation of John's excellent customer service. He patiently answered a dozen more questions about the care and feeding of my new floors and threw in a cleaning kit for my cleaning pleasure. He stopped short of offering to come to my house and clean those for me, but I don't fault him for that.

It went perfectly-beyond my expectations-ted the owner has put together a team of pros and has worked with these folks for years-the install team(headed by ken) was excellent-relaxed and professional-best experience I have ever had on my various remodel jobs-one would think I was working for them or was a plant because I am so pleased with these folks-believe me I don't work for them-I wish I did-THES FOLKS REALLY HAVE IT TOGETHER- I am a cynical ex-new yorker but thank you angies list I was about to go to home depot till I heard all the horror stories-I ended up with a great install-better carpets and it didn't cost any more-all done in such a quick time fram for my daughter wedding--the big do here is this is the best-the big don't is don't go anywhere else-again what a great team

The contractors were here early and it took them no more than 10 minutes to measure. They were very helpful at the store and they let us bring back samples to the house. We could look at them here and pick the carpet we were interested in. Their initial quote was a little less before they came in and included the stairs, but it is fine. The quality they are giving is better than what the others offered for the same price. I am satisfied with them.

Great. Work done in timely fashion. Bill the installer did a excellent job. New tile looks outstanding.

They removed a laminate/wood flooring that was damaged and replaced it with new material. After they were finished, when I objected to one piece of the material, they "cheerfully" removed a foot or so of floor and replaced the offensive piece, assuring me that my satisfaction was the important issue.

The sales staff was very helpful and patient, no sales pressure, just informative. I couldn't have the carpet installed right away, they stored the carpet I ordered with no problem. The installers arrived on time, they got right to work and did a great job. They were friendly and professional, I was very comfortable with them in my home.

Everyone at the Floor Store was professional and helpful (but let us browse without bugging us too much, which we really appreciated) They are always happy to answer questions, but aren't pushy. They have a great selection, our order came in quickly, and we were very happy with the product.

Overall, they were ok, they did mis-bid the carpet installation so communication was just so-so. They provided fair quality and price, but not quite an A rated company.
