It went well, the AC worked noticeably better after the service (It is about 7 years old and to my knowledge has never been serviced), the contractor was quick, efficient and very nice to my toddler and friendly but barking dog. In fact, my kid kept asking for Matt for the rest of the day.

These guys are awesome! This was no small project. I have a 1911 house that had an old octopus style furnace and absolutely no insulation. These guys coordinated everything from the asbestos/oil furnace removal to insulation installation and installation of the new furnace. They were worth every penny. Abe and his crew were great to work with and professional every step of the way. At the end of the job we noticed we were having some water pressure issues and Norm went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of and working properly. I went with Specialty because they were rated number one on Angie's list and it is obvious why. They didn't disappoint! I will be using them again when we decide to get air conditioning.

Gave us a quote and were very professional but we chose another provider based on cost.

Technician was knowledable and did a good job. There were three extra screws near the furnace. I requested for clarity on why extra screws on the floor. The office folks told that they will get back to me and did not yet even after a follow up call.

They installed central air conditioning and new water heater. Very professional service and highly responsive. We used them for similar services in our last house and were very satisfied.

Nic and his crew made the transition simple for me as the customer and I would recommend these guys to anyone. I will be using them in the near future for a new water heater.

From the very first phone call, I was very impressed with their service. I had no heat, and within 2 hours for a service call, they were at my home. The repairman was very efficient in assessing the problem, trouble shooting and making recommendations. I had the option of making repairs, but was also given an estimate of future issues since the furnace was over 11 years old. I opted for replacement and a sales appointment was set up for later in the day. When Nic arrived, he was very professional, spent a lot of time making sure I had a clear understanding of the systems available to choose from, which ones would fit my needs, the costs involved and helped me make a decision that I was comfortable with. Since I had no heat at all, he arranged to have the installment done the next day, and provided me with space heaters, for which I really appreciated!! The following day, the installation crew arrived early, the installation went very smoothly, and I was very impressed with their workmanship. The gentlemen were very polite, went about doing their work without interruption. It was originally set up to install the furnace on Wednesday, and return the next day to do the a/c installation, but the company and sent a crew of young men who committed to getting the job done in one day. I was impressed. I have been a customer of Specialty and Heating since 2003 because I find them to be very trustworthy, professional, and a pleasure to work with. I think they are absolutely the best!! THANK YOU!!

Great job, all went as promised. They completed the job in one day and took out the old furnace and cleaned up after the job. I was able to get a 60 month financing at 0 interest rate and an energy credit of over $200.00. I highly recommend them.

The service tech was delayed from his appointed time, but phoned ahead and arrived shortly thereafter.

First provider I contacted failed to return my call so I turned to Specialty Heating & Cooling. They were able to get someone out same day to address the issue. Good job, professional and friendly service. Would use again.

We had Specialty Heating and Cooling out to our house last week as our furnace was experiencing some overheating issues. We choose them based on the their outstanding Angie's List Reviews, the fact that they were a Carrier Brand authorized repair company and that my father-in-law who has been in the industry for over 30 years had had exceptional contact with them in the past. The service technician was exceptional and provided an accurate diagnosis and stated that someone would call the next day with detailed information for us to use to make a decision on the best repair course. At no time did I feel pressured to make a decision - and at the time of this posting - my wife and I are still considering the best course for us. I would highly recommend them!

We were advised of the gas company's willingness to make new connect within 3 days upon a payment to NWNatural of $200. There were no other gas company charges. Normally would have had to wait 10 days and it was mid winter coldest in PDX in years. Furnace installed promptly and all went fairly well despite gas company not coordinating with the furnace connect for a day. The second job was to install a earthquake valve in my gas line in early January. This was installed upside down by an inexperienced installer but was detected by the company when rechecked a couple of days later and reinstalled promptly by a more experienced installer. They were careful to explain how it works and to place a brace on it against the house so that it couldn't be accidentally triggered by bumping it.

Helped me to understand the new thermostat and how to change the filters.

I was very impressed with the service provided by Specialty Heating and Cooling. They worked on an A/C repair for us which turned out to be much more complicated than first thought. While the technician was able to figure out and repair the problem, it took 3 hours more than first thought (Not his fault). Despite this extra time, he only charged us for the time he originally estimated for the work. He was very thorough in his explanation of the problem as well as how it was solved. Very professional and courteous. Since I was so impressed with the service I had them provide me with an estimate to replace my A/C and furnace. This process was equally impressive and timely. We are not ready to pull the trigger on a replacement A/C and furnace but when the time comes, I will be calling Specialty.

Great - we would use them again in the future.

We are so much happier with this furnace. It replaced a Trane furnace that was only 13 years old. We don't think it was ever installed correctly (by a different company). It was so loud, and the house never seemed very warm. This furnace is so much quieter and by keeping the fan on low - very quiet - all the time, the house is much more comfortable. We originally had Specialty Heating out for our annual service. They discovered the furnace had locked itself out because it was not working correctly. It could have exposed us to carbon monoxide. They advised us to not use it until repaired or replaced. Specialty Heating immediately put together some quotes and options for a new furnace vs fixing the Trane. Once we decided to replace it with the Carrier, Specialty Heating jumped right on it. They worked late on a Friday to complete the installation, since otherwise we wouldn't have had heat over the weekend. Thank goodness! Immediately after installation, the overnight temperatures dipped into the teens. Our new furnace kept us warm. Wonderful! Thanks so much.

Specialty installed a new furnace, AC, and zoning system. In the process they rebuilt significant portions of my duct work - both supply and return. I'm the type of person that does most of my own work and worries that when I hire out something, I get subpar attention to detail. In the case of Specialty Heating and Cooling I feel like the team spent extra time and effort getting everything 'just right' without cutting corners. In some cases, they went well above and beyond what I expected. Even the inspector commented on how well done the installation was.|While this is a significant financial purchase, we were extremely pleased with the service level and end result.

Specialty Heating and Cooling are professional, courteous, friendly, and responsive. I feel they did a great installation job and the insulation of the furnace performed by Garret was very well done. The crew that came out was friendly and I felt comfortable around them. Garret is such a nice guy, easy to talk too and happy to answer any questions. All answered any questions I had and I never felt that like my questions bothered them. A great crew altogether. I plan to use this company again in the future, not only because of their responsiveness, but because I feel they are trustworthy and quality matters to me and it is apparent that it matters to them as well. Andrew and Tracen (sp?), also did a terrific job.

Trayson, who did the installation was punctual, careful putting down drop cloths and phoning me at work to let me know it was completed. And the price was right. I would highly recomnnend Specialty

They were outstanding, on time, and charged exactly what they said they would. They were neat, cleaned up well, and I have no complaints. Everything was perfect.

I would highly recommend this company. Nic answered all my questions and gave a clear explanation of the options and process. Communication was clear, the price was right and they were very prompt. The install guys were polite, knowledgeable and tidy. They met a couple of my special requests - moving the heat pump so it did not extend beyond the house and covering my clothes due to an attic access in the master closet. It was a smooth and pleasant transaction from beginning to end.

We are exceptionally pleased with the work of Specialty Heating and Cooling. Every level of staff we encountered did an outstanding job. First, their salesman Cory Streeter is very professional, personable, and thorough in providing information about the Carrier products. He performed a heat load calculation, sizing a smaller furnace than other bidders who didn't perform a heat load calculation. He addressed our concerns about some existing ductwork problems in our crawlspace, and went down into the crawlspace with me before preparing a bid on the crawlspace work we wanted done. We had 4 companies give us bids for a new furnace, and he was the only one who took the initiative to go into the crawlspace to see the situation before he bid on the job. This company is rated very highly on the Carrier website, and we felt they had the best grasp on the actual scope of work. For those reasons, we chose this company to do the work, even though their bid was higher than the others we received. Cory gave us the confidence that his company would do a thorough job, not only installing the furnace, but also doing the ductwork we wanted done, and we have not been disappointed. Cory also stopped by the morning of the installation to verify the scope of work with us and the installers to ensure the work would be done as outlined in our proposal. After the work was completed, he came back out to see the installed furnace AND crawl down into the crawlspace again with me to verify the work was done to our liking. Second, Ryan did an excellent job installing the furnace, and doing extra work replacing some insulation on a duct next to the furnace. His work is very neat, and he was very efficient. He and the other technicians, Jeremy and Andrew, were very professional and we are very pleased with the work they did. They were extremely polite, and patient answering questions and showing us how the furnace and thermostat work. Jeremy kept me apprised of the work he was doing in the crawlspace, and he did an excellent job in a very tight space. It isn't easy having strangers working in your home, but these men were very easy to have around, and I appreciated their positive attitudes and hard work. Third, the office staff arranged for the permit and inspection by the city, and completed the registration and rebate forms, and provided all we needed to submit paperwork for some tax credits. The work passed the inspection without any issues. The furnace is working great and is amazingly quiet compared to our old furnace, and we are already seeing the energy savings.
