Our 24 year old water heater was acting up--a couple of times in two weeks hot water was tepid, ran out quickly. Called George Morlan water heater folks..very responsive, scheduled installation in two days. Technician (David C) was very responsive; called first before starting out, arrived right on time, installation took only 2 hours. Went over the water heater with us. I've purchased parts from George Morlan showrooms before, and been very happy. This work confirmed again how good they are.

They are excellent people to work with. They didn't charge us for any of it since we bought the parts from them. Leroy was the manager at the store. Happy with the service

Very happy with George Morlan water heater service. My husband walked into the garage Saturday night to find rusty water all over the garage floor. These things always seem to happen at night, on a weekend, etc. He called George Morlan and was thrilled when someone answered. He explained to my husband how to turn off the water so it wouldn't continue to fill with water to replace what was leaking out. We were thrilled a second time to find out someone would come out the next day (Sunday) to install it. What could have been a major inconvenience turned out to be a temporary setback. We are so thankful they offer evening and weekend customer service.

On Thanksgiving, our water heater started spewing water all over the garage. We called the emergency number. it was answered promptly and the man on call was extremely helpful instructing us what to do and what our options were for repair or replacement. and for scheduling the repair. He talked with us several times, interrupting his thanksgiving to help us!! we scheduled the repair for Friday. they showed up in the morning exactly as scheduled and replaced the water heater. The job was done fast. the reapirman was very skilled and left the area cleaner than he found it!!! He thoroughly reviewed the new hot water heater with us, its features and functions.

They came out on time, thorough, and very professional. I would highly recommend them to others.

I emailed first thing in the morning and didn't get a reply. I called at noon and they said they could do a same day install. I agreed and they said it would likely be about 4pm. I did have to call back to see when they would be there but was impressed they installed the same day with a noon call. I was surprized by a stand charge but the installers were very professional.

We might work with George Morlan Plumbing again.....but only thru gritted teeth and out of necessity. They suffer from very poor communication skills between customers, their own staff and their workers in the field. It began well with a helpful woman at the Foster rd store in Portland. SHE helped balance my need to remain home working with her need to have the water heater cabinet enclosure measurements in order to determine the best replacement tank size - - by giving me her private email so I could send the photo and measurements. The store itself does not accommodate emails. She could then tell me that the newer tank models of the same capacity (80 glln) would be too tall for the cabinet. However, they could install a smaller tank with a cold water mix valve that would allow the tank temp of *140, but the valve would control water temp by mixing cold water - - thereby preventing burns, yet giving us a capacity greater than 50glln, to fill a large tub. I accepted the tank and price for a complete removal and replacement, together with details like a pan and earthquake straps and replaced pipe parts that come off the old tank. I was also grateful for the store's patience with the delay between removing old tank and install of new one due to leak repairs to floor necessitating dry out and carpet changed. After that, things went poorly. and gt;and gt; I told them repeatedly about the 3 flights of stairs, and yet they sent 1 lone plumber to remove the tank. NO way could he get an 80glln tank downstairs alone. He drained and detached the tank, but came another day with help to haul it outside. I expected this man would arrive with the paperwork for the entire job description, but he only had a work order for the removal. I still lacked a contract with the original details. and gt;and gt; When I called to arrange installation, I asked the salesman to refer to the 1st saleswoman's notes, so original details would be noted. I don't believe he ever checked during my call. He did mention the tank now being on sale, and I happily expected that $100 reduction in price (it didn't happen). I stressed the 3 staircases and asked him to repeat the details of pan and cold water mix valve. and gt;and gt; Upon arrival to install, I spoke with plumber still in driveway, to ensure he had all parts. NO. He didn't have the cold water mix valve and rescheduled to Saturday. and gt;and gt; When he was 2 hours late and no-show on Saturday, I called the store to check and got transferred to the 99w store. The manager knew nothing about it but said he'd check and call back in a few min with time and name of plumber to come over. Three hours later I had to call the store again - clearly we'd been forgotten. Now our plans for the day were altered because the job wasn't done; not even started yet. It was during this call I also thought to once again reiterate about the stairs and need for extra helpers. I also double checked the new sale price, but after going round and round about the 'price confusion', I admit I caved in first, just to get the job over with. IF it was salesman mistake, it's one he would not have made had he checked with an original written order. Also, IF I had a printed order copy from the store - - there would be no 'confusion' about the original or subsequent quoted prices. and gt;and gt; Nearly 6 hours past scheduled time, a plumber finally arrived: alone. Again, I check details while he's still in driveway. He has the cold water mix valve - - - but NO drip pan! He phoned his manager who was loud and rude enough arguing with him that we could overhear it nearby. Plumber had to return to the store for a pan, and there's another hour + wasted. He did return with a helper to get the new tank upstairs. and gt;and gt; New tank was unwrapped in driveway, and a small dent in upper rim pointed out to me, along with an offer to reduce price by $30. I photographed the dent, but declined the price reduction on the grounds IF it failed at that point later, I did not want the company to tell me I'd accepted a lower price for a flawed product. Instead, we paid in full and expect the original warranty to be honored. I sent that statement to George Morlan Plumbing via their website email, and will follow it with land mail and photo of the small dent. and gt;and gt; The 2 men wanted to attach a bendable pipe to 2 tank top outlets and use it as a handle during carrying. I regretted that I had to ask thye NOT do so, for fear it could damage those outlets and result later in a leak. We were okay with using a dolly, but they thought it would dirty our carpet, so the poor guys hand carried that tank up 3 flights. In the end, we have what appears to be a good quality tank with a 12yr warranty at a fair price and the actual installation went well. It's just that it was such a hassle dealing with all their poor communication skills and multiple delays. If you hire George Morlan Plumbing, just be prepared to: and gt;and gt; Not leave the store without a written contract or description of job with ALL details and a price quote. and gt;and gt; During every phone call, cover details again. Double check for comprehension. Ask them to repeat it to you. and gt;and gt; When plumber arrives, double check details while he's still in the driveway, before he hauls supplies and equipment into the house only to discover something vital is missing.

It went well from start to finish. We were back in hot water the same day we called, despite a difficult installation in a tight space.

They were accomodating to my time-dependent need, they provided a quality service and I would recommend them to others.

Great! I called george morlan thinking i would need a drain and fill on my water heater, but when i let the operator know that my water heater is around 20 years old, she let me know that it was probably time to have it replaced as 20 years is a very long time for a water heater to live. They were very resonably priced, were kind enough to allow me to make payments on my purchase and came out and installed the new water heater tha very same day that I called them. I was very impressed with their customer service and will use them in the future for any other plumbing related needs i may have!

10 days after we moved in to our house, the 12 year old water heater gave out - isn't that how it goes? A couple of cold showers later we called George Morlan to get quotes on a replacement water heater and find out their availability for installation. The reps we spoke to on the phone were very helpful, and gave us several options (traditional, energy efficient, tankless), with prices and information on each option. They had good information on the energy rebates available for different models as well. After we decided on the model we wanted, they arrived the same day and installed it without issue. The installer was very friendly, efficient, and professional. We would not hesitate to call them again for any plumbing or water heater needs.

I was able to get a prompt installation appointment. The installation took a bit longer than expected, because the technician could not get the drainage valve of my old water heater open--instead, he had to pump the water out through a hose inserted into the top of the old heater. (I still paid only the previously-quoted installation cost, however.) The technician re-attached my earthquake-protection straps around the new water heater.

Called to price hot water tanks and installation. Thought they had the best bang for my buck and right tank. Scheduled for next day installation. Had a last minute change in my schedule, called and asked if they could delay installation for two hours. They were glad to accommodate me. Came at just the right time. Tank installed in about one hour. Technician described job and pointed out shut off valve.

They did an excellent job. I opened the garage door so that he would have access to the old water heater. He had all the space he needed and he was done. He did everything that he said he was going to do. He was very cordial and good natured. I can't say anything bad about the service. It was very efficient. He did quality work too. I would use him again in the future, but hope I don't have to.

Great. Norene answered all my questions and gave pricing over the phone. Chuck showed up on time, knew what he was doing, and didn't mind my being picking about things, accommodating all my requests with aplomb.

Misled me at first that they had the sink in stock, then it turned out to be at the warehouse, then it was delayed - all this after I paid. I didnt want to delay (would have bumped 3 contractors waiting their turn to install stuff). I pushed for resolution or refund and they came through for me. Hence the better grade! In the future, I think they need to have a better system about how long things will take till you actually have the product in hand.

Install of new water heater and electric wiring was done in one day.

The man who installed it, Jim, works quickly and gave me good instructions on safety concerns if any problems came up with the water heater. Their price was comparable to other companies listed on Angie’s List.

They were courteous and professional. Showed up on time, friendly. Gave us a reasonable bid, we discussed alternatives to the water heater they suggested but found on further research of our own that it wasn't for us. They delivered and installed the hot water heater and it's been working well since. No complaints.

Morlan was one of several companies I called for bids when my water heater needed replacing. Theirs was not only the most reasonable bid over the phone, but the most professional. The person I was connected with answered all my questions and gave me several options. They sent a man out a couple days later -- my old heater was still working, just not well -- and he completed the installation quickly, taking the time to answer all my questions. All in all, it was a very satisfactory experience and I highly recommend the company.

I didn't like them. They delivered the wrong hot water heater, a used one. They installed it improperly, too.

I contacted George Morlan Plumbing for the purchase of a new hot water heater, which I had researched. Ultimately, the installation was delayed because the water heater wasn't in stock; however, my paperwork was misplaced at George Morlan's so I wasn't notified in a timely manner. That was annoying because I'd scheduled a morning off from work. The good news is that when the heater was finally delivered and installed, the installation person was competent, efficient, and professional. The lesson I learned was to follow up with a phone call before the expected service date.
