Description of Work: Mike Patterson Plumbing arrived on time. Mike showed me what was wrong, turned some valves and explained to me what to do in the future. Yesterday, I arrived home to find a mini Trevi fountain spurting from a pipe onto the sidewalk. I turned off the main water valve and then called a plumbing company whose card had been left by the previous owner. We've only lived here six months. That plumber said no one could come out until today and maybe not today depending upon the weather. At 7am this morning I called and was told that no one could come today because of the weather. This is Wednesday December 17th. Having used up the last two gallons of water for flushing toilets I called Mike Patterson Plumbing. Jennifer, the delightful lady who answered the phone said that she thought Mike or Jeff could get to me by noon. Thank goodness. She was really nice. I got a phone call from Mike about 12:45 telling me that he would be to my house in about 20 minutes. He was right on time. Mike assessed the situation and showed me how to turn off the valves going to the outside water faucets and sprinkling system, that was what had ruptured. After doing that, he checked all the others, there were three and turned them off also. He was willing to stay here in the cold to permanently fix them, but I thought it was just too cold and will have him come back on a warmer day to complete the work. After paying him, he took the time for me to call my husband who works in Redmond to explain what the problems were and what he had done. He also looked at my kitchen faucet to see why the water pressure was so low. He fixed that problem in no time flat.

 + -1 moreI had been out of town and learned that I had a leak of some kind. A friend turned off the water to the house, but the leak was between the turnoff valve and the meter. I had called a company I had dealt with before. When I didn't hear back from them, I went to Angie's List. I chose Mike Patterson Plumbing because of the rating. I called after hours and left a message. My call was returned at 7:10 a.m. the next morning. They were able to come that day, first call. Probably due to my 'frantic' voice message! I was extremely pleased with the immediate service and the great work. By the way, the other plumbing company finally called me after 2 weeks.
Description of Work: They dug around the shut off valve and discovered the pipe was 'blown out.' They replaced the necessary pipes. They then went on to another call indicating they would be back in a couple of hours to allow the glue to dry. The apprentice returned after two hours and back filled the hole. Both the plumber and apprentice were exceptionally polite and told me exactly what they had done.

They called back Monday morning and sent a guy out Monday afternoon who couldn't give me an estimate despite a clear explanation of what the repair was after I inspected it and called back Sunday. Another guy came out Tuesday morning at 7:30 am and gave me an estimate of $500 or less. That afternoon I was told they would begin the repair Wednesday morning. They were prompt and took several hours to complete the repair (one of the pipes had a pinpoint leak after everything was put together and had to be replaced). I was happy with the price but not happy that it took almost 3 days. I can fix pipes myself but don't really like working with galvanized so I thought I made it clear Sunday what it would take and expected the right estimator on Monday and work done by Tuesday. Otherwise I would have rated them higher since the workmanship was good. I'm still a little worried that an ABS pipe is in an outer wall unwrapped but it is a drain pipe.
Description of Work: Broken drain pipe in an exterior wall under sink. Pipe was cast replaced with plastic ABS. Good work although the trap was moved so low it limits my under sink storage. Came in well under estimate.

The team that performed the work were very personable, professional, on time, and they kept their work areas extremely clean. The plumber who came, Nick, was really great, prompt, polite, knowledgeable and efficient. The whole job was finished within the estimated time frame and worth every penny. This service could not have been better.

 + 0 moreJeff was friendly, efficient, and competent. I will definitely call Patterson again if I have a plumbing problem I can't solve. Although I think plumbers charge too much per hour, I was pleased that Jeff held this job down to one hour. Since gas is $3 plus, I wasn't too surprised to see a gas surcharge of $15 on top of the $90/hr rate.
Description of Work: After my kitchen sink had been re-plumbed (by a different plumbing company) water flow was cut down to a trickle. I checked the faucet spout and the faucet and found no clogs. So I called Patterson's. The plumber, Jeff Luck, came within the time promised, found and repaired the problem very quickly and unclogged a bathroom sink drain while he was here, all within 1 hour. He also showed me where both problems were and how I could fix them next time.

 + -1 moreI called mid-day for someone to come out and repair the leak under our kitchen sink. The woman who answered the phone was friendly, and offered that someone could be out the next afternoon. She took two contact numbers so that they could reach me when they were on the way. Jeff called about 20 minutes before his arrival to let me know he was coming. He was friendly and efficient. He replaced the problem pipes, and described to me the reason for the leaking.

 + -1 moreThe serviceman came, looked at the project, advised it appeared not serious. Went to his truck, got a coupling, put it on, tightened the remaining ones and then advised that the water was sewage and the insulation that had gotten soaked would need to come down, dry out the 2/4's and possibly spread lime around and then put new insulation up at a later time. All in all he was at my home (on his day off) about 30-45 minutes. He was very personable and professional the entire time.
Description of Work: I called the company when I found water shooting from a pipe under my house. This was on a Saturday afternoon. They sent someone out approximately 30 minutes later to fix my loose connection and then he tightened all of the remaining couplings.

 + -1 moreMike Patterson Plumbing sent a fellow to examine the site, "estimate" the job (no actual number was provided, but a ballpark, hours, cost per hour was given). Next day, company sent a plumber and apprentice who completed the job in about 90 minutes, very professional, looked well done to me. The sprinkler guy then put an access compartment around the plumbing and filled in the hole, after connecting sprinkler. The plumbing company engaged a "backflow test guy" to come later to test the installation and report results to the city, which requires this. There was an issue with the initial permit because apparently the city started new policy requiring a "SDF" (Sewer Development Fee) for houses with 4 baths or more. The plumbing company had been unaware of this and called me in something of a panic because the fee was going to be $3,000 (!!!). Fortunately, I was able to avoid the fee due to "grandfathering" an older system that I had prior to this.
Description of Work: Company responded to my request to install a backflow preventer which I had purchased at a home improvement store at the advice of a guy who was engaged to install a lawn irrigation system. The excavation work was done by the sprinkler guy, exposing the water main to my house. The company that installed a deck earlier recommended Mike Patterson Plumbing in particular. Their fee included the first visit, labor to get the job done, and parts except for the preventer which I had purchased. (A couple ball valves, fittings, etc were provided by company.)

Description of Work: It was interesting to watch hired plumbers at work. My personal plumber (husband) passed away 2 years ago. Plumbing repair was always free. Hiring someone to do plumbing was sort of intimidating but I felt at ease as soon as I met the men and saw how they work. Leak in the tub of my rental went on smoothly. Patterson Plumbing is fortunate to have good men working for him.

He explained the procedure that would be needed, including a drilling company for the new line. He submitted bid and company names that would be included and a date for starting. When he found the water leak had gotten worse, moved the date up and other jobs around and started the job early, came on time, worked the entire day, explaining as he went and completed early. He was on time, on budget. Very professional.
Description of Work: Purchased home and found major water leak. Could not locate source, requested whole new water line installed.

 + -1 moreRick called to let us know he was on his way two hours before scheduled time as shop knew we were at a standstill on our remodel. In very short time, Rick was able to determine the cause of the problem to be a defective Kohler hot water valve that was part of new faucet kit. Rick tried to unscrew the valve for over half an hour and did not charge us for his time or travel time. I'm very impressed with this company and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

 + 0 moreI was told Rick would call when he left his previous job. This he did. As explained above, he replaced the disposal and replumbed the sink. Rick was friendly and professional, and he worked for about 90 minutes on the project. I paid with a VISA card, and Rick took off. Rick recommended the disposal he carried in his truck as being as good as many more expensive models available at Home Depot.
Description of Work: Well, my son, god love him, put some kind of fibrous vegetables down the disposal, clogging it, and initiating a leak. Rick, Mike Patterson's employee, came out, showed me why and where the disposal leaked, and recommended replacing it. It was only 25 years old, but Rick indicated its time was up. He replaced it and replumbed the pipes beneath the sink.
