Timely but expensive.

The plumber who came and fixed our hot water heater was polite and professional. He explained the problem so we know what happened. We called the company and even with providing our zip code I was asked if we were closer to Bend or Eugene. We received a call the same night, but from someone who was not licensed. He offered to try to light the pilot light. This was the problem we couldn't get the pilot light to light. It would have cost us over $200.00 for him to try. If that didn't work another fee for a licensed plumber the next day. We declined that offer. Then after we had someone out from this business, we got an email stating they had tried to contact us, but had a bad phone number. After a plumber from this business was working with us. Don't understand that. But our hot water heater was fixed and is working.

The service techs were knowledgeable, friendly and cleaned up afterwards.

First, the owners wife called to set up the appointment..really nice lady! Allen, the tech came and did an amazing job!

TL:DR Value for money is very low here. I had the plumber out for a partial blockage at the entrance to the septic tank. I'm new to septic tanks and I didn't understand exactly what was involved in the repair. I was worried about sewage backing into the house which caused me to too quickly agree to the price quote. He ended up replacing a flexible PVC coupling which had been originally installed incorrectly. The cost was $695. So for nearly $700 dollars, I got a small 24" by 3' trench dug to access the coupling, less than an hour of total labor. Total cost of parts $20. Tools required, shovel and screwdriver. It was so quick I didn't even realize what had happened. As soon as he pulled away I realized I had payed nearly $700 for an hour of labor and a $20 part. I felt robbed. I called their office and eventually got through to the owner to ask if maybe the plumber had made a mistake. I got a few words out before he quickly and hostilely started talking over me. Saying he doesn't let customers decide his prices. They don't do time and material work. Why did I agree to the quote if I didn't like it? I mentioned my thoughts that in Bend, OR a customer should be able to trust that a well reviewed and reputable company would give fair quotes which accurately represent the work performed. He had a good laugh over my naivete. Well I may be naive but I am not stupid. Money does have objective value and you overcharged me whether you admit it or not. Thank you for the lesson Mr. Rooter, unpleasant as it was. This very site suggests that on any plumbing project you get at least three quotes on any plumbing project. I will do this every time in the future, but I won't bother getting one from Mr. Rooter.

He discussed the project with me and gave me a quote ahead of time and then completed everything we needed. His work ethic was superior and the completed work was fantastic. Mr. Rooter Plumbing showed up on time, was able to discuss the project with me, gave a quote ahead of time, and finished the project within the quote. He was also very tidy and did not leave any mess at all for me to clean up.

Alan was prompt, courteous, professional, knowledgeable, honest, and eager to be sure we were satisfied. He went through everything he had done with me before leaving. I would not hesitate to call Mr. Rooter again, requesting Alan.

A little confusion on appointment but the technician Alan was great. Explained all options and finished the job in a very professional manner.

QUICK SERVICE. ON TIME , VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE DUG OUT THE WATER MAIN AND REPLACED THE FAULTY SHUT-OFF VALVE, INSTALLED 4" ACCES SLEEVE OVER AND BELOW THE WATER LINE AND VALVE, BACK FILLED THE PROJECT. PRICE INCLUDED VALVE AND LABOR.

They sent someone out the same day and, when he was running late, contacted me twice to let me know and gave me a new time to expect him. Very well done!
