Aside from the above detail, I thought that it went very well. This started late on Presidents Day and they got here the next day just a few minutes beyond the promised 2 hour window. As mentioned above, work was checked and we never got the impression that they wanted to just "snake and go". They wanted to do a good job. However, the next day we found that a downstairs shower was now blocked. This was discovered later in the afternoon so they came back the next day. George snaked out the shower and even rinsed it out. Work was done very well and George kept things VERY clean. After all that, there was no charge for that 2nd call!
Description of Work: Both sinks in our kitchen started to drain VERY slowly and would back up into one another. There was a blockage beyond where both connected together that I could not clear. Pro Drain cleared the blockage and when I checked downstairs the blockage had moved to a downstairs bar sink. George then cleared it again and all seemed OK. The next day a downstairs shower was used and it was blocked. The next day George came back out and cleared the whole system out. There was NO additional charge and I thought the area was left VERY clean!

They were perfect and wonderful. I would recommend them one thousand percent. I think they charged me about $150 but I do recall that whatever they charged was well worth it. I would use them again in future.

They were on time, pleasant and explained why our older, smaller throat toilets just naturally drained slower. Recommended upgrading at least one toilet in the future to a newer style...but no hurry.

They had to redo our sewer line on a very short and tight timescale. They had to fit their time schedule before the landscapers started their work. By the time I confirmed with them that I wanted the service done, they came out that same day and started to map out where they were going to go even before I signed a contract with them. They were very polite. They have been very proficient. They came out and started digging. They were expecting to dig a 2 or 3-feet wide trench, and they wounded up having to dig probably a 6 or 8-feet wide trench. They were there on time. I was home the entire time, and anytime I had any questions they were willing to answer the questions. I was out there taking the pictures and just identifying what was going on. It looked like they spent entire time and extra effort to make sure that the sewer line was stable. The inspector came out and had nothing but praise for them, so it seemed like it was pretty straightforward. We had 3 different quotes. One was twice as much. One was right at the same price level, but they weren’t going to go all the way to the street. They were only going to fix them because the situation was that somebody had put in the pipe partially. They only reached up to the sidewalk essentially and then stopped and then just plugged it in to the cement line, which was quite another problem. Fortunately we went all the way back because had we not we wouldn’t have found there was a leak underneath the joint.
Description of Work: We used Pro Drain & Rooter Service. They redid our sewer line.

Greg was very professional and friendly. He showed up on time and had no problem with the crawl space. He provided a good overall inspection of our plumbing and alerted us to immediate issues we were unaware of (like the bathroom sink not being properly vented). He also broke down his estimate into what we should do now and what should be done in the future.

A truly awful experience! The main issue that we had with ProDrain was with the sewer line. The technician couldn't get the cap off of the sewer access point (in our basement) so he started bashing it with his tools (we could hear him from upstairs as the racket went on for about 10 minutes). When he finally got the cap off, he checked the line and cleared some small root intrusions. Then he came upstairs, made no mention of the fact that he broke the cap (!), and left us with the impression that everything was fine. Later, we noticed that the cap was merely sitting on the sewer access point instead of being screwed onto the line and firmly attached because he had broken the rim where the cap was supposed to go. We called ProDrain to complain and ask them to come back and fix it. I told them that I expected that it would be fixed for free since they broke it. The phone operator said that they would take care of it. They sent someone out and he fixed it AND THEN they expected payment for coming out again and fixing what they had damaged! There were many points along the way when ProDrain could have communicated to us that there were problems, but they did not do so. There was no discussion that they were having a hard time getting the cap off (for whatever reason) or that they had broken the cap. There was also no communication that their expectation was that we would have to pay for damage that they had caused. I found their work to be substandard and their professionalism completely absent. >> The ProDrain technician also cleaned out the storm drains but left all of the gutters detached and, in one case, removed from the house. He also tramped through my living room with dirty boots that were covered in debris from working on the sewer line. YUCK!
Description of Work: We hired ProDrain to clean three storm drains and check and clear the sewer line. Two of the storm drains were blocked with debris and the sewer line had some small roots that had grown into it, but it was not blocked.

We would like to respond to this report and explain this situation from our point of view. The customer called us out to clear the storm and the main sewer. The tech says he put all of the downspouts back after testing them. He didn't replace the one that was already off before he got there - he left things as they were when he arrived. As for tracking the mud in, we do make every effort to be clean and control tracks, but unfortunately in this business, it happens. The tech apologizes if this was the case. We would have been glad to come back to clean any mess that was made if we had been notified of it. As for the main issue - (the cleanout cap on the main sewer line access in the basement)- the tech maintains that the husband was present on and off while the tech was trying to take off the cap. The tech advised him that the cap was stuck and that he was using a hammer and wrench to try to loosen it, but that it might have to be broken off. The pipe/cap was thick brass and wouldn't budge. It became evident that the cap wasn't coming off, so he tried breaking the cap lid with a chisel. In the process, the threads broke. We cannot control the condition of pipes or fittings. This was nothing that our tech or the owner did wrong-- it was just the situation-- possibly the cap was over-tightened when it was last put on. The husband left before the threads broke, but the tech did go up and advise the wife. He also said that he left the cap laying on top of the drain to cover the hole to prevent things from dropping in, but that it wouldn't affect the function of the drain system. He also advised the home owner that she might like to eventually get it repaired, but it wasn't necessary to how the lines drain. The couple was nice during the whole visit and seemed grateful for the tech and his work when he left. He had no idea that they were upset about anything. When they called back in to complain & get this fixed, we sent our plumber out to repair their cap (that was NECESSARY for us to break in order to clear their line). Should we pay because of the condition of their pipes? That hardly seems fair, either. Our plumber did compromise because they were unhappy and cut his bill in half, which they agreed to pay-- (which they didn't mention in their review that we cut the bill in half). They did pay their part of the bill, which we appreciate. We feel badly that they feel that this was our responsibility and expected us to pay because of condition of their pipe. We feel that we did the best we could under the circumstances.

we had 3 different plumbing and excavation companies look at our project and no one but pro drain seemed to have the knowledge to do what was necessary to fix the problem. i first met with Tyler, the outside excavation specialist, and he called in Greg Fort, the inside plumbing expert. together, they figured out the best way to fix our problem. that entailed digging a trench through our finished basement and outside of our house to the city sewer. they put in a new sewer at the right grade, installed backwater valves, and put back in place all of the plumbing that had to get ripped out. we re-did the bathroom layout in the meantime and they came in and put everything in place for the new layout. it was the best experience. everyone in that company, from the office to the laborers is so nice, so professional, and easy to deal with. i would not have expected things to go so well. i would recommend them to everyone. their price was extremely fair as well, less than the other bids we received. i am so impressed.
Description of Work: on our home inspection we found a belly in the sewer line that ran under the finished basement. prodrain repaired the bellied sewer line by excavating inside and outside the house. they also reset all the basement plumbing fixtures. and installed two backwater valves.

Travis showed up an hour early and I wasn't there. Left a message that he was leaving and I should call and reschedule. Strike one. The appointment was set for between 3-5. I couldn't get there before 3. Called and got that squared away. Travis shows up @ 3:30ish. Fine. Explain the problem with the sewage ejector. He says it needs to be replaced. Let me see what pumps are available. Comes back inside about 20 min later saying he's found the pump it's up on Columbia. But not to worry he won't charge me for travel time. In my head I'm thinking ok it's 4 oclock. He's bid the job- not normally part of billable time and he's going to get the pump. 2 hr install time x 95 + 380 for pump as quoted. Travis shows back up @ just after 5. Comes in and poof is done by 6:15. and he did a good job with the work......Says he's going to write up the invoice on Monday and he's ready to go home. I say hey- no problem. so 2 hr's @ 95 would have been 190. Really the work took 1 and 1/4 hour. Which should be 119. Plus pump of 380.....499. I hope you are all following my math here. Needless to say I was floored when I received a bill today for 800+. NOt only was I charged from the minute he pulled in my driveway but I was charged 145 an hour for half of the time because it was after 5. NO ONE TOLD ME THE RATE WENT UP. I would have said comeback on Monday morning and do the job then. Now had Travis said travel time to get parts is part of the deal I could understand. But this is a first time for me with this company and this type of service. In the end Travis did a bang up job on the labor and completed the task. However the way the bill is padded and was told one thing then charged different leaves a really bitter taste in my mouth. Needless to say I will fight these charges but I will likely not call prodrain again. This sucks. They have been my go to plumbing team for 2 houses over 6 years.....

Response from ProDrain & Rooter Service
We want to respond to this member's comments. We are extremely sorry that this customer was left with a "bitter taste in their mouth" and have taken steps to repair this situation. First of all, we feel that we responded quickly to an emergency job that was called in on a Friday afternoon. Replacing a sewage ejector pump is a nasty job and we feel our plumber was going above and beyond to squeeze this in on a Friday night. Secondly, this was not a 'bid', it was a price given on what the expected costs will be. The pump was $380, but there was additional parts needed beyond the pump itself, which pushed the parts price to $475. If he arrived at 3:30, and spends the next 1 1/2 hours tracking down the pump and other parts, then running across town to get the parts, should he spend all that time at no cost? We are not aware of any plumbing companies that operate that way. Our plumber did call this customer back and after hearing the dispute about the overtime charge, reduced the time to 1 1/2 hours at regular time plus parts. The customer seemed satisfied at this revised invoice amount. So in the end, our plumber spent almost 3 hours of his time for this customer and only charged 1 1/2 hours plus parts, resolving a sewage issue that would have been majorly inconvenient to live with through the weekend. The bill with $475 in parts and $142.50 in reduced labor add up to $617.50. Plus, our plumber didn't insist on payment on site (which is our policy) but agreed to invoice him -trying to help with the financial situation. We have been burned before trying to do the nice thing by delaying payment for an emergency repair - we are putting our faith in this customer to pay this bill.

Pro Drain arrived to open clogged drains. Mario was prompt - actually arriving a bit earlier than scheduled - and went right to work solving a slow drain problem. He diagnosed the likely problem in an old house, worked cheerfully on the roof in the rain to solve it, and gave me maintenance options to prevent likely recurrances. On his way to the roof vent, he even scooped out an overflowing gutter for me!

I called Pro Drain for a quote this morning. They charge a flat fee for a bathroom sink of $75 no matter how long it takes. That sounded great compared to having a plumber come out at the higher hourly rate plus charging extra if they need to use the snake. I called at 8:30 and they were able to get to me by 9:45 the same day. Jer was in and out in 30 minutes and the drain works great now. He left everything neat and clean after he was finished too. I would definately use them again for a plugged drain of any type.

On a Friday afternoon I discovered my lower floor toilet was backed up. I attempted to plunge it without success. I called ProDrain and they set up an early evening appointment for me. Jeremiah showed up about 15 minutes early. He had a number of problems with my job, but he accepted full responsibility for the issues and was persistent about completing the job. He also had some equipment problems which prompted a call to George the company's owner who showed up pronto with a replacement part. Our basement drain started backing up, so we called Pro Drain to come out and look at it. They were able to send someone out the same day, gave me several time windows to choose from, and the service person showed up right in the middle of the time frame I chose. Within 30 minutes, the drain was clear and we regained use of all our water fixtures. It is a pretty routine drain-cleaning job, according to the service person, but I was really happy that they could schedule me in the same day and made such quick work of the problem. It is nice that this company is so responsive seeing as how the problem of not being able to take a shower is so distressing! The cost was extremely reasonable, too.

Both times they did the work quickly and efficiently, and were able to come out the day after I called. For my standpipes, I'd previously had a drain company come by to take a look, and it was their opinion that they'd need to use a water jet to blast out the clogs, and that it would cost about $300. So I was very happy when ProDrain was able to do it more simply (just used a snake) and for a lot less money. Each plumbing job took them less than an hour. I seem to recall they bill a bit differently than some plumbers (no "first hour" charge, just hourly I think), so for small jobs like mine the cost ends up being less. Next time I have a plumbing problem I'll definitely call ProDrain.
Description of Work: I've used ProDrain twice, once in a rental property and once in my home. At the rental they unclogged a toilet after the tenant's kids had flushed a bunch of stuff down it, clogging the whole house (got into the main drain line somehow). At my house they unclogged two standpipes that the gutters drain into.
