I received estimates from several firms. Alpha Environmental Services was neither the most expensive nor the least. They were, however, half the cost of our most expensive estimate. We went with them because of their reputation (thanks, Angie's List), promptness, and professionalism, and because they have the appropriate DEQ licenses so we could be sure that the tank would be properly decommissioned. They basically took care of everything from initial soil test (I forget their technician's name, but he very kindly explained the process for me when he came to take soil samples) to the cleaning the oil tank, filling with inert material, and removal of vent and inlet. We had excellent communication throughout the process and received documents with lab results and certifying the decommissioning within a day or two. If we have need of other environmental services, we will certainly call on them again.

They were very polite. I felt comfortable both when he came to do the estimate and when he came to do the work. I felt that they portrayed themselves as being professional and competent. They take pride in their work. In dealing with the office, we payed over the phone and setting up with the contact person in the office was all very polite and professional and made you feel that you were in good hands. We were in a time frame and they said they could make that work and they did.

Went smoothly. Work passed later inspection.

Alpha is bar-none the best, the most communicative, the most punctual, knowledgable, professional and offers the best prices. I'm a realtor and need the best for my clients. I've used their services many, many times. I wouldn't call anyone else.

As a Realtor, I use Alpha for Oil Tank decommissioning, radon tests and mitigation and sewer line repairs. They are AWESOME. Completely responsive, on time, do what they say they will do, keep me informed. They are THE BEST. P.S. Their prices are comparable, but better service than others I used in the past. I only call Alpha for these needs.

The experience was awesome, they are great. I use them all the time. They had made two different appointments, one was to drop off the radon machine, and the next was to pick it up two days later. They were on time for both of them, and they had the reports for me within 24 hours.

It was fine. My clients are happy. I would definitely recommend them. There wasn’t anything outstanding, good or bad. It was a normal service as expected. There were no surprises or anything weird. I’m pleased. They’re very accommodating. They accepted pre-payment for installation and then they performed the installation as promised. They did the radon test to begin with and then installed the coordinates for mitigation. The price seemed a little high but it's alright because it's a unique situation.

They were not professional. They changed their story several times about the solution for the problem. They did not want to put in an electrical fan, but the inspector said that we needed it. When they did install it, they put in one that is 3 times bigger than I thought it would be. They said it would not make noise, but it makes a lot of noise everytime it rains, and it is over my bedroom. I probably would have trusted them if they would have given us one solution.

They did a really good job. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was. They got the inspectors there. They did what they said they were going to do with the property. They did it for the amount of money that they said they would and in the time that they said they would. They open it and pump everything out. They do soil test to make sure that it meets the standards. They fill it up with pea gravel and close it up. I would use them again.

It was a good experience and they did a good job. It was done clean and the house looked great when they got done.

I know they have a very good reputation and I know a lot of people that have used them but I had a bit of a problem which could have been a miscommunication on my part, that they did not call me the last time they drilled. It ended up costing me an extra $1000 but I had no knowledge of it so I had no way of proving that they had actually done the work, so that was pretty irritating. It took them three visits. They apologized for it but I had to pay big bucks for it! It was supposed to cost me a little over $3000 and it ended up costing me a little over $5000. The owner said he would pay for it but then backed out on it on paying for all of it so he only paid $3000 and then I thought I would just have to pay another $1000 but then it ended up being more than that, another $1000! I know that it was just an expensive process and I suppose they could not have made it any cheaper. I would just make sure that I communicate better next time when I work with them.
