This installation was not an urgent matter, as this is not a time of year when I am needing to use my air conditioner, so I had pre-arranged with Ronnie Cooley of Paul's Heat and Air to install the system when they had some "down time". When a date and time was set up, they were very considerate of my work schedule, and came out promptly at the date and time arranged. The crew was very respectful and used their time efficiently, with little disruption in anything I was doing. In fact, when I left to go run an errand, I had another service person coming out, and they handled that person for me, passing along information that I needed to give him, which was very nice of them. The amount they charged was exactly the amount quoted. They cleaned up the attic, the garage, and the area around the outside condenser, and hauled off all the old equipment and any debris from it. Very clean. The only reason I rated their quality of work as "good" instead of "excellent" is because I had a problem with my heater the first time I tried to use it after the air conditioner unit was installed, and it turned out that they had neglected to make sure the drain pipe was open to drain, so the unit had shut itself off as a safety feature. I called Ronnie Cooley, the supervisor, that evening to let him know that I didn't have heat, but I knew he was celebrating his and his daughter's birthdays that evening, so I told him that the house wasn't that cold, and it could wait until tomorrow. He said he absolutely wasn't going to have my family not have heat that night, and as soon as the celebration with his family was over, he drove down to Norman that evening about 8:30 p.m. and very quickly realized the problem and took care of it, and was very apologetic about what happened. I was very impressed that he would do that on the evening of his birthday, and this showed the strong work ethic and professionalism he has. I am not concerned about the quality of the work they did -- they did an excellent job, and the drain pipe was a small oversight, but I felt still warranted including in this description, as it does show how prompt they were to take care of a problem and how responsive they are to their customers. Also, I realized after they had installed the outside unit that my lawn mower wasn't going to be able to fit between the unit and the fence around my yard, so Paul's Heat and Air came back out and re-did the pipe connections so that they could move the unit closer to the house so that my mower would be able to get past it. They charged me nothing extra for this. I felt that I was treated very fairly and that Ronnie Cooley really cares about their customers and is very ethical and hard-working. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.
