Kreggers Floors & More

Description of Work: Kreggers installed hardwood floors in my strange foyer and kitchen. Paul came to provide the estimate and was amazing. He made some design recommendations which I ultimately took and they ended up looking better than I could have imagined. From start to finish, each person I spoke with was helpful, knowledgeable, and made me feel like my job, though not huge, was important to them.

Description of Work: Replaced kitchen floor

Description of Work: We had enginerred wood floors installed in most of our house. They ran out of material but were back within a week to complete job. We had some tile reonved. Kreggers did all they could to midigate the dust raised removing the tile. The installers were expirenced and plesent. Overall it was a fairly painless upgrade to our home.

Description of Work: Kreggers installed engineered wood in the master bedroom and replaced carpet in 3 bedrooms. They also installed ceramic tile in an entertainment area. The engineered wood is beautiful and the installation went well. But they failed to clean up the excess glue on the floor and wall molding. We had to request 2 - 3 times that they finish the clean up of the glue. The carpet installation went very well and did not require additional work. | |The grout on the tile dried in various shades of gray both dark and light. It was suppose to be a light tan. It looked tan when installed but soon turned gray. After Kreggers did two acid washes the grout looked somewhat better but still gray. Kreggers was puzzled why the grout turned gray assuming that the mix water used was the problem. Eventually they had to color the grout. We presume the grout discoloration was not their fault. Our dissatisfaction came in their resolving the problem. They made several appointments to fix the grout, do the acid washes, etc.; sometimes they showed up and sometimes they didn't. This went on for months. Seems their main priority was taking care of the new customers and leaving us to the end of the workday. If their installers finished with their "important" jobs then they showed up at our house. If not they put us off to the next day or the end of the week. Like I said this went on for months. | |In addition we selected an expensive carpet from their samples for one room, requiring a 12' x 12' piece. It was to be shipped from overseas and would require a wait of several months. We waited and waited and the delivery date kept getting pushed back. Finally Kreggers told us the carpet was not available. At that point we'd had enough of delays and had someone else install another carpet. | |Generally we do not fault the workmen nor those who work at the shop for the poor communications and follow up; they were friendly and professional. We do fault the owner and son who work in the store. They were also friendly, experienced and knowledgeable but too frequently lackadaisical about finishing the work as contracted. Some calls about scheduling that we were told would be returned were not. The weak point in the whole operation is the to frequently lazy attitude of the management and the projected feeling that after the initial installation our job was no longer important.

Description of Work: They came out and installed hardwood flooring in June of 2007. They installed it throughout our entryway, master bedroom, office, family room, and 2 other bedrooms.
