 + -1 moreOverall it went well. I was concerned about tree branches over my service lines, roof, and neighbor's driveway. Another neighbor, who also needed tree work, and I got multiple bids. I chose Ryan Lawn and Tree because the bid was detailed, the bid was given by an arborist, I received the bid the same day, and two colleagues had recommended them. (All of the bidding companies were on Angie's List.) I would've liked to have had the work done sooner, but I knew from the bid that it could be a 4 week wait. After agreeing to use them, I decided to have more branches pruned, and the arborist came out the same day I called to look at those. The workmen who came today to do the actual pruning were prompt, personable and cleaned up the yard and street after completing. They apparently got permission from the neighbors to enter that yard. I was nervous to see some of the pruned branches hitting and catching on my service lines on the way down. They did prune one additional limb which was not on the bid sheet, which I appreciated.
Description of Work: They pruned branches that were hanging over my service lines, my roof, and a neighbor's driveway. They also removed some dead branches from the trees.

Description of Work: They have helped me with my sprinkler system. They winterized my outdoor sprinkler system and got it ready to the summer and did some repair work that needed to be done.

 + -1 moreJose and his assistant came out and gave me an estimate to fix all my problems which included one complete station that was not working, several heads that weren't working and several others that were leaking. Job was done the same day in about 2-3 hours. Noticed the next day that I had a head that was leaking and asked them to return. They came out the same day. Repair the problem at no charge and also adjusted a couple of other heads that were covering more area than I wanted. I was pleased with the results. They are not cheap but do the job and warrant their work. I would recommend them.
Description of Work: Had them check the entire system. They replaced several heads and other components, adjusted others. Fixed some leaks.

 + -1 moreWe've used Ryan before, and felt that this would be a good experience as well. Their arborist came out first and evaluated our needs with us, also making some helpful suggestions. We have a very sloping and wooded lot. There were a number of things we needed done and it went very well overall. The crew were professional and careful not to harm existing landscaped plants, shrubs and trees. They cleaned the area completely after the project and inspected the work with me upon finish. We think they're worth it!
Description of Work: Two trees were removed. Limbs overgrowing roof were cut back and dead limbs removed from living tree. One tree was trimmed up 20 feet from the ground.

 + 1 moreMy lawn has never looked worse. The lawn is a disaster. They left a note saying they had sprayed weed killer. I went out to the store and there must have been a thousand little seedlings in my lawn along with brown grass.

 + -1 moreEach time an application is made to the lawn, a detailed description is written out with directions for watering and/or mowing and placed on our door. Anytime I call with a question or concern, our service man is willing to stop by and give advice and if needed reapply any chemical that is needed without charge.
Description of Work: Ryan Lawn and Tree has been taking care of our lawn for several years. The oldest record I can find is from 2003, and they are still taking care of our lawn. They come out four times a season to make an application. Our lawn is one of the best looking in our neighborhood. The grass is thick and we have no weeds.

Description of Work: I had a karge limb come down in a storm that split the tree. Called Them and they were very prompt and getting out. They said that the tree was split enough, it couldn't be saved. I had them take the tree out and remove it. They did this all the day I called them.

 + -1 moreThey perform exactly as the contract states, pretty simple process put fertilizer on my yard. But I have special needs due to animals and gardens and they always honor them and don't have to be reminded.
Description of Work: The fertilize and help with the yard to keep it pretty and weed free. Very nice service man and they come out and handle th tough weeds, nutt grass, for me. I would recommend them.

They don't force every program or service down your throat. I used them for two years until I sold my house. I highly recoomend them.
Description of Work: Provided lawn care-fertilizer, treatment for weeds, grubs etc. Also seeded my back yard a few times. Did not use them for lawn mowing or tree care or services.

 + -1 moreWe had a tree that was damaged during a recent storm. Matt Evans and his team came to remove a very large branch that was dangerously hanging in the tree. When they were done, they realized that the tree had a bigger problem and that it had started splitting in two, making it a dangerous hazard in our yard. They then made us a second quote for removal. In talking to Matt, he agreed to reduce the price of the removal due to the fact that they had not seen the tree's bad condition when they originally came to do the branch removal estimate (to their credit, it was very difficult to see until the branch was removed). They came the next day to take the tree down and did a great job, leaving the area spotless. This is a very professional crew: They are safe (all wear helmets), prompt, and deliver on their promises.

Two guys came out and got our 3 trees down and through a chipper in no time. Everyone was very professional and friendly, and our yard where the trees were growing looks great. I would definitely hire them again

 + 0 moreBoth the turf manager, who managed turf at a golf course for 13 years, and the arborist were both very knowledgeable and professional. The tree crew showed up as scheduled, did what they said they would do, were professional, and cleaned up very well afterward. The turf manager treated my lawn the same day. I think they are an excellent company with very reasonable prices, and provide excellent service. Will definitely use in future.
Description of Work: Needed 3 large trees trimmed and thinned, and another smaller willow type tree shaped beside our pond. One large Ash Tree on the street, one large Maple growing against house/roof, and another large mature maple in back. The Ash especially was growing wildly with many crossing branches, branches growing downward so delivery trucks kept hitting branches, etc. Got a quote from another reputable company with excellent reviews on Angies list, and they wanted approx $1000, and recommended I do the Willow myself because they would be too expensive. Saw a Ryan Lawn and Tree service turf manager fertilizing my neighbors lawn, and asked him about Tree service. He contacted an Arborist from Ryan, and the guy was out the same day for quote. I was always under the impression that the lawn service was very expensive, so have always done all fertilization myself. I asked about the lawn service and he put a quote on my door for entire season with 6 treatments including for grubs. I was very surprised that the entire quote was about what I had been paying for fertilizer alone. I accepted both the quote for tree service and for lawn service. The lawn service was approx $360 and I have a good size lawn.

 + -1 moreAfter I had prepaid for the entire year, I discovered that I had a coupon whereby the first application was only $25.00 (up to 10,000 square feet). I called the billing office and asked them if they would take this into consideration and provide me with a refund for excess I paid in consideration of the value of the coupon. I was pleasantly surprised that the billing office was interested and willing to honor the coupon even though I forgot to present it at the time of the initial sales call and my acceptance of the proposal. Clearly, this is a great company, with high ethical standards and a focus on long-term retention of customers. The service was great and the billing office was outstanding. I highly recommend.
Description of Work: I contacted Ryan Lawn to discuss their lawn application services. Pete F. came to the house and listened to my concerns and needs. He then measured the yard that I wanted treated and he gave me a written proposal. Pete F. is friendly and helpful. I accepted the proposal and Pete F. came out and made the first lawn application at the end of March

 + -1 moreWe had a storm and lost a fairly large branch from a maple in our back yard. What a mess. The guys were out promptly. They got down the broken branch, trimmed up the tree, hauled it all out front to the chipper and were done in well under an hour. We have had them out before. In February of 2008 they came and trimmed all five large oaks and maples for $700. There were 5 guys working very hard, and it seemed like it didn't take them long to finish. They were great about picking up the little branches and getting all the mess out of the yard. We got a discount for booking that trimming in the winter. Matt did the estimate and was great to work with. I will call them whenever I need a tree trimmed.

 + 0 moreI found Ryan Lawn & Tree through Angie's List. They sent out an arborist to give me an estimate. The tree had a disease, could be sprayed, but the falling apples could be harmful to my grandchildren. Their ages range between 3 and 1, so they will eat anything. Better to remove the tree and keep the kids safe. They called the previous business day letting me know when they would arrive. They arrived on time and the job was done in no time at all. I highly recommend Ryan and will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Cut down a ornamental crabapple tree, removed 2 stumps, hauled off the debris, and cleaned up the yard.
