AmeriCoat Asphalt & Concrete

The driveway looks fine, but they were bad at communicating with me. I was scheduled for a Monday and called the previous Friday to confirm that I was still on the schedule for Monday since I was going to take the day off work. I was told I was on the schedule and someone would call me Monday to let me know what time. By 10 a.m. on Monday, no one had called me, so I called them. The customer service person said he would call the crew and call me back with an estimated time. He never called me back. Around noon, I called again and got a different customer service person. She said I was still on the schedule, she would call the crew, and then call me back with a time. She never called me back either. Then a thunderstorm came and no one called to reschedule. We had to call them. We had already paid a $700 deposit, so we rescheduled instead of canceling. We were told we did not need to be home, so we let them come the following week. When I came home from work the driveway was done, but they did not consider the swing of the side gate, so it hits the driveway and only opens 6 inches (i.e., can't get the trash dumpster or anything else out of our back yard without rehanging or sawing a few inches off two large gates). The gate was unlocked and they used it to get to the backyard to use the hose, so they knew the gate wouldn't open. Instead of anticipating and/or fixing the problem, they ignored it and never even told me about it. I discovered it when I wanted to take the trash out and couldn't get the gate open. I would not use them again.

First impressions were great. the first piece of the project went well, they repaired and patched an area. The disappointing piece is the patching of the cracks. The cracks were back the next day. Three phone calls later I cannot get anyone to respond. The receptionist is kind and professional but then nothing happens. I don't plan to pay them until this is fixed. I feel they had a couple of students doing the work and it was not the skill set I expected from this company.

Overall, it went very well. The ease stood out to me about them. They would call and tell me when they were in the area to ask if I would want the work to be done. They would come out and do the work whether or not I was there. They would leave the bill on the door. It was very stress free. I would tell people as to how easy it was when I recommend them. They were very simple and professional.

They were able to schedule my appointment within 2 days. They arrived on time and did a fine job. I have used this provider several times in the past and have never had any problems.

We chose this company because of the good reviews an Angie's List, the price and the professionalism their ad promoted. Our experience with the first "crew" was very unprofessional. They show up to our house on a Friday night around 6:30pm, the crew did not sweep the driveway, edge the driveway or wipe up oil spots (like their ad clearly states)So my driveway was sealed with a bunch of rocks, debris and grass in it. They also were more concerned with how loud their rap music was and how quickly they could finish. They had the first coat on in about 10 minutes, the one gentleman brought me the bill and said they were done. In which he tracked the asphalt sealer up my steps. I went out to see the job and noticed they didn't patch a few holes, I asked they to please fill them. I received the response "Okay but I won't be able to fill it that well", all he did was take a bunch of the sealer and slop it in the hole to patch it. Then they left, came back about 45 minutes later and put on a second coat. I contacted the company Monday morning to express my disappointment with the job that had been done, they told me they would have someone out at the end of the week. The last crew that came out did an excellent job and were very professional, they fixed all of the mistakes the previous crew had made.

In July I contracted the company to repour my asphalt driveway. After some weather delays, they came out and completed the job in one day. Although the driveway itself looks good, they left asphalt marks and footprints on the concrete end of my driveway. I thought they would clean the marks off when they came back to put the surface coat on the driveway, but I was wrong. I contacted the company to request they come back and clean the marks off, but have not had a response to date. I have had several negative comments from neighbors about the marks, and one specific neighbor, who was going to use them to repour their driveway, is now pursuing other companies. This is particularly frustrating since our house is on the market for sale.

They were very inexpensive and the job they do is terrible. The overall product is terrible. They came on time and were very efficient. After using them for about 4 years in a row I had to have 2 inches of asphalt put on top of the asphalt because all of the coating started flaking off. It would come off in sheets. The pieces were 4 inches by 10 inches. The product they used was junk.

Everything went well. They worked very quickly.

They were punctual, courteous, professional and did a great job.

When we arrived home ALL of the cracks were still very apparent. We called them to verify if they had in fact applied 2 coats and they said they would send a technician over to look at the job. He arrived and told us that no matter how many coats they applied that it would look the same. We have called twice about our invoice and was told both times that someone else with authority would have to call us back. Eventually the operations manager did return our call to resolve our complaint.

The whole job went very well. They tore out our old asphalt drive, and found that the foundation was shot in several areas. They added limestone and waited several days for it to set. Once it was ready to go, they were very efficient in putting the new asphalt down. The drive-way looks great. We have had many compliments.

the coating was fine, but what happened next was the horror scene. Three weeks later they called and asked for payment but we told them that payment had been given to the man on site. When we told them this they hung up and we went on with our lives till last week when we got a very indignant call demanding payment on that bill. and insinuating that we were having financial problems. When we were all through the deal, it turned out that Americoat themselves had deposited the check to their own account. WE demanded an apology from the people who had called us and told them we would file complants with angies list and the BBB

They made something that looked awful look much better. They did as good as they could have with what they had to work with.

Let me start by saying I am very pleased with the service provided. They seal coated my driveway in the morning. As luck would have it, it began raining that afternoon and continued into the next day. After the sun came out we noticed the driveway didn't look like it had the other times after being sealed. Before I had a chance to call them they called me. A supervisor had been out and the driveway did not meet their expectations. They rescheduled a date to come back out and apply another two coats. In the interim they also sent one of their crew to power-wash the driveway apron. There was some black residue on the apron, my guess is it was due to run off from the rain. The crew member also power-washed the garage doors and applied touch up paint. I want to emphasize that while there were some spots of sealer on the doors, you had to look for them. Until he pointed them out to me I had not noticed them. They were very small. They had to wait some extra days for the temperature to warm up again but then they came out and applied two coats of sealer again. The driveway now looks great. I consider this to be a great example of excellent customer service. I basically didn't even have to raise a finger. The job was not up to their standards and they fixed it. They left me a happy customer.

Having always maintained my driveway on my own, I decided it was time to replace it and begin using a professional company for maintenance. I chose AmeriCoat and am completely satisfied with their professionalism, workmanship and my new driveway. They were quick to schedule my driveway, they arrived at my house promptly in the morning and were finished in 3 hours.. I did have one question after it was finished, and my call was returned promptly by Mike and he was very professional, courteous and helpful. I am completely satisfied with my new driveway and AmeriCoat.

I was happy with their work. I had called the people who put my driveway down for over two months, without them ever returning my call. When I called Americoat, they made arrangements to come out three days after my phone call. They were very reasonably priced, and I would definitely use them again.

They did an excellent job. I do not recall the price, but it was very reasonable.

They were there on site exactly on the day they said... then it had rained that day, and they returned later that evening to put ANOTHER coat down. They really went above and beyond. And the driveway looks great!

We have used Americoat every year over the last 8, or so, years and were happy with the quality of their service originally. However, we have not been happy the last few years as the tar doesn't fill in the slightest cracks and the tar wears off and pitting occurs within months of their application. Even with two coats it just looks like it has been painted. In the past I had a smooth, filled in driveway after 1 coat. We will not be using Americoat any longer.

AmeriCoat came to my house this past Thursday (October 8) to apply two coats of sealant to my driveway. Later that night and Friday, Columbus got a lot of rain. A supervisor came out yesterday and determined that the driveway was not to his liking so they sent a crew out today to re-seal my driveway. I appreciate a company who checks their work and makes it right if it was to their satisfaction. I had NOT called or made any complaint to the original work even though I had noticed a few bad spots after it stopped raining.

I felt that they did a nice job on the driveway. They did splash a little bit of the sealant on my garage door. After the company saw my comments on this website, they called me and immediately sent out a crew to clean up the garage door.

I had my driveway done by somebody else in the past, but Americoat did a better job. They definitely did a thorough work. The driveway looks like it is more sealed. Their prices were in the same range as that of the other companies.

They converted my patchy driveway into a perfect black square. They were professional, responsive and punctual. Their pricing was very reasonable as well. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

Excellent!! We had asked various companies for quotes. AmeriCoat's quote was by far the most professional( listing various options ), and, also, lowest. Kenny and his crew arrived at 9:00am and finished by 12:00pm. Kenny and everyone on his crew were very professional and friendly. Their actions looked like they had been choreographed. They were extremely efficient. All of them paid attention to detail throughout the entire job. I really enjoyed watching them at work. I am extremely pleased with the final product. Dave Heisel
