AmeriCoat Asphalt & Concrete

Don't use this company. 14 phone calls since August 20th from my personal phone, at least 5 from my work phone. Average hold time was 5 minutes. Receptionist would take your name and the address of the work to be performed, you would then hold for another person who couldn't really do much, then you would be sent to a scheduler. First deposit check cleared my account on June 12, 2013. Multiple phone calls between June and August advising of install being pushed back. Removal of asphalt was completed late on Monday, September 30th. Replacement of the sidewalk was missed causing additional expense of which AmeriCoat needed another $240 deposit to continue the work. Second deposit was made on October 4, 2013. At that point the great price became the worst price and I felt like I was being held hostage as the asphalt was removed, but no date for install. Not until October 8th was the driveway finally poured. And I can assure the readers, there was excellent weather in order to pour the concrete during the same week as removal of the asphalt. To top it all off, the crew that poured the concrete appears to have cleaned the tools and/or equipment in the NEIGHBORS YARD!

I had previously used these folks for driveway repair when they were the only company that would come out and do a small asphalt repair. There price on asphalt sealing was $100 less than others I have used and the work was superior. Highest recommendation! We have used these folks EVERY spring since they repaired out driveway for seal coating. They do great work for a fair price and show up when they say they will.

First time using a contractor for this type of work and so far, not disappointed. Driveway looks great and all work finished in one day. Workers were pleasant and kept us informed during the process. Scheduling was changed several times (earlier) and luckily this worked out for us.

The sealing of the driveway was fine. However, I never received a bill. I then received a voice mail from Americoat requesting payment. I immediately called them back but their phone seems to always be busy. I left two phone messages and sent them 2 emails over the period of about one week requesting an invoice so I would know how much was owed and where to send the payment. They have not responded to any of my phone message or emails. I don't think I will use this business again as their responsiveness and customer service seems to be lacking.

The representative I spoke to stated that AmeriCoat did not offer an asphalt based sealant option. A company representative contacted me after this review was written and stated I was misinformed. I accept that statement as correct. At that point I had already contracted for another company to carry out the work.

I submitted the review below on 8/21/13. On 8/30/13 Maria called from Americoat and apologized profusely about the whole situation after reading my review and would send them out next week to fix. They came out and put on the 2nd coat and it looks terrific. I am very pleased that they keep track of customers on Angies List so that they could rectify this situation. Maria followed up aftter they came out to make sure I was pleased. She also told me I would not have to pay because of everything that happened. I really apprecciated that, her genuine caring attitude, and will continue to use their services in the years to come. This was the 1st review on 8/21/13. Terrible. We have used Americoat in the past years and I keep giving them a chance to redeem themselves, but they don't. We have had them coat our driveway for many many years. Always 2 coats. Last year they said that the driveway was overcoated and there are lots of big patches that look like gravel is coming up. They said it was from overcoating it. So, we didn't do the driveway last year. It looks awful. So, this year we called them again and I wanted to make sure this was done before my daughter's wedding July 27h. Our first appointment was to be May 28th. They cancelled because of rain delay. I again reminded them that I needed this done before July 27th and that we have been customers of theirs for years and they said that they would put us to the top of the list. I rescheduled to June 18th...another delay. They wanted to schedule during my son's move out of June 22nd so we had to reschedule again to July 11th. I told them that the date was getting closer and we have to have this done. It rained the night before but on July 11th it was sunny and they said they were backed up and couldn't do it. I was very upset. They said they can't control the weather. I told them we had a whole week of sunny weather and I was supposed to be at the top of the list and they just kept saying the can't control the weather and rescheduled me to July 19th. Same thing! Called and said they couldn't do it. Now it is too late because we have family coming in July 22nd. I asked to talk to the owner/manager. He kept giving me the same speech. What bothered me the most was the fact that he had no lack of compassion because of our situation and said tried to blame me for rescheduling one time because of company in for our daughter's wedding shower. That really ticked me off! Especially when I have been trying to get this done since May 28th! He said they would reschedule me for August 7th and I told him and quot;why even give me a date when you never keep the appointmentand quot;. It is silly to even schedule a date with them when they will never keep it. I told him and quot;why don't you just tell your customers you might be able to show up in the span of one month's timeand quot; Maybe then you wouldn't have to keep putting them off! Although, in this case, it took 3 months! To make matters worse, when they did do the driveway on Aug. 8th, as usual, they do one coat, then come back a few hours late to finish the 2nd coat. My husband and I were home the whole entire time. After they did one coat, they handed m husband the bill and said they will be back later. It was late in the afternoon when they did the first coat. After they left it started raining and we kept looking for them to come back and they didn't. I called Americoat and told them the situation and asked when they will be coming back. She put me on hold and said she checked the GPS of the truck and said that the truck did come back to our house. I told her, they might have drove by, but didn't do it. There is a dirt patch at the middle of the driveway at the end that you can clearly see they didn't. It looks awful. I asked if she could please have someone come out and look at it and/or call me to advise me of the situation. NO PHONE CALL RETURNED! NO ONE CAME BACK! SURPRISE! I've had it. I am more than happy to give any one the benefit of the doubt and I feel I have been used and taken advantage of. The, I still owe $92.65 for all of this trouble and a terrible job! I will never use them again and would advise anyone that even thinks of using them, especially because of their lower prices, don't! Your driveway will be ruined...that is if they show up.

We have used this company every year for several years. They are professional, timely, considerate of property and have even gone the extra mile. They aren't the cheapest but we don't typically use the cheapest company as we do believe you get what you pay for. Use this company with confidence.

Received promotional postcard in the mail that they would be in my neighborhood in a few weeks. I had been wanting my driveway sealed by a pro after years of doing it myself. I called - very professional and pleasant on the phone, let me know the cost with discount as advertised, told me that due to rain they were running one week behind the date printed on the postcard asked if that would be ok. I said it would be. Reconfirmed that discount would still be honored. Asked if I had anything buried near driveway - sprinklers, invisible fence, etc. I said I did - they asked me to mark it in someway (flags, cone, posts, sign, etc.). Told me they would call or email me the day before reminding me of appointment. Said they would leave an invoice on the door if I wasn't home and that payment could be made within 15 days. That sounded refreshing to me - what company does that anymore? How great! The reminder email came the day before as promised. I came home on the day of the service and the driveway looked great! Invoice was on the door at the discounted price as promised. I was very pleased with their service and professional job! Thanks Americoat!

AmeriCoat Asphalt and Concrete sealed and filled all the cracks on my driveway. They did a great job. They applied the first coat and crack filler, then they went on to other jobs in the area, and returned and applied the second coat. They even charged me less than they originally quoted because they did not think I needed everything in the original service. How about that, a truly honest vendor!! Thank you.

While the end result was very satisfactory, the process was a bit frustrating. I was coordinating the completion of 4 driveways (all in a row) . I received a phone call the day before the service was to take place(June) informing me that due to rain we would be postponed until July 16. I understand the rain causes problems with scheduling, was disappointed that would be the first opening, but planned accordingly. On July 15 at 6:30 pm I received an email (no phone call) informing me that once again we were taken off the schedule to be put on July 31. Unfortunately, I didn't get the email until mid day on 7/16. I left several messages about my disappointment and finally did get a return call later that afternoon. They sent a crew to complete our service the next day to our satisfaction.

They had already done one coat and I didn't think it was done satisfactorily. They gave me an estimate for another coat, but I didn't think that they had actually come out to do the estimate, just used the knowledge of when they had come before. I called and then they came out to give an estimate and quoted me the same price to put another coat on. When they showed up to do the second coat they did a very satisfactory job and I was pleased with the results. The project got delayed because of rain, but they made sure to keep me informed when they would be there.

They arrived, did the job completely and were out quickly. Very thorough. It rained later on in the afternoon and they even came back the next day to put on another coat - without me even calling! Always satisfied with AmeriCoat.

The mailer we got said they were going to be in my area to re-seal driveways in the neighborhood on 05-07. so I call to make an appointment and they say that they can't actually be there on 05/07 so they schedule me for 05/27 (nearly a month later). 05/27 rolls around and they don't show up. I call them and they site rain as the reason. however, it did not actually rain that day. They rescheduled me for 06/18 (again a month later). 06/18 comes around and no driveway sealing. again they site rain and again there was no rain. they rescheduled me for 06/22. I looked at the weather report and of course it says T-Storms on Saturday so I can only expect another delay. if they know its going to rain, then why do they even bother scheduling appointments. I have had their service before so the quality is acceptable, but, never have they been so irresponsible about keeping their promises.

never finished the job. very sloppy, splashed sealer on my garage door and promised to fix it. Never came back. Garage door still has stains.

They did a great job. For the price that they charge it is one of the best services for re-coating that I have found. It was very easy to set up an appointment with them, and they always show up on time. I have been using them for about 4 years now.

They have done a great job. They have a payment plan and always show up when they say. They leave a notice on my door. Great follow up and customer service. We have referred them to friends who have been pleased as well.

They did a very good job. We had a little bit of scheduling mix up, but they did come out as soon as they could. We have a shared driveway and we planned this job with our neighbors. The first bill I received from them was a month later and there was a late fee applied on it. When I contacted them, they removed the late fee and I paid it over the phone.

They completed the work and did a good job. They came when they said they would.

They have done work for us before and they have been fine. I believe that because it was a rainy day, there were troubles. We ended up with splatters on our garage door. They did have to come back and reseal the driveway and paint the garage door. It took a long time, but they did resolve the problem.

They completed the job quickly and it turned out just fine. It was a minimum amount that they charged and it was reasonable.

It was fine. Everything was okay. Everything was cleaned up nicely after the job was complete.

I requested a quote from Amiricoat many months ago to get my driveway replaced. They called back about once a month to inquire if I was still interesed in their service. Their calls were very polite - not annoying or pushy -- just politely asking if I had gotten my driveway done yet. This fall I decided to just get a topcoat done instead of replacing the driveway as I was unable to afford a complete driveway right now. As it was already fall the the weather was unpredictable they worked around my schedule and the weather to get the job done. As this was a several step process they let me know via e-mail when appointments had to be rescheduled due to the weather. I was very pleased with their service.
