AmeriCoat Asphalt & Concrete

I've been using Americoat for many (7-8?) years and they always do a great job. Their phone staff is very friendly and courteous as well. I plan to continue using them for my annual driveway sealing.

I've used American for a number of years. As a result when my neiibor did not he had to repave, and while min show some wear it is a long way from needing to be repaved. I appreciate that they contact me early each year to schedule, so I don't forget.

In my entire life I've never experienced such all-around poor service as I did recently with Americoat, a company I've hired 5-6 times since 2004. If you wanted to develop a model on how not to run a business, start with Americoat and you 'll be fully satisfied with the result. 10/12/2015: The worker came in afternoon towards the end of the day, as requested, and without cleaning the driveway or trimming the edge, which is what's been done in the past and the standard procedure as told to me later by others from this company, he put one coat on the driveway. Later he went across the street to do a neighbor's driveway, and then later he put up the posts and tape and signs to block off the end of the driveway, a sure sign that he believed he'd finished the job. Then he left. My wife was home and witnessed all of the above. 10/16/2015: I inspected the driveway and saw many areas--10 or more--where the coating didn't cover the driveway. In addition, there were many areas where the coating was so thin you could see the discolored old surface beneath it. 10/17 & 10/18/2015: I sent emails with photos to the company's website email address. The photos showed several spots with bad coverage and several areas where, for no additional charge, the worked applied sealant to cinderblock and garage wood trim several inches above the driveway surface. In both messages I requested the company to contact me. 10/22/2015: I called the company, was unable to speak with anyone and left a message about the above. 10/27/2015: I received what was called a "routine" follow up call from Americoat to ask if I was satisfied with the 10/12 service. The caller claimed he had no idea about the matter described above, the information sent to the email, the message left, etc. I explained every detail including the damage. He agreed to send over the repair team on 10/30 to fix the problems. 10/30/2015: The repair team arrived and immediately said, "We're hear to do the 2nd Coat". After handing me a bill dated that day, one of them claimed to have no knowledge of all of the problems related above. In addition, I was told the company would be able to repair the damage done to my cinderblock and trim, but arrangements would have to be made with that team -- and they would not be able to do the 2nd coat until those repairs were arranged and completed. Annoyed, I refused to allow them to repair the damage and told them to do the 2nd coat. I also told them I expected to get a call from the management so we could discuss the damage and bill. After telling me that the first worker had coated debris and not trimmed the edge, these two edge trimmed, cleaned off debris and put down one coat. Before leaving they told me they spoke with their manager and were told to take photos and tell me I would get a call from someone as I requested. They finished the job and left, and later someone came by and appeared to inspect the work. I paid my bill seeing value in never having anything to do with this company again. Today is 11/13/2015 and I'm still waiting for someone to call me. Of course, I never really expected anyone would. So, remember - If you want to spend 18 days getting your driveway sealed, hire this company. If you want to contact a customer service desk by voicemail to get no response, hire this company. If you want to send photographic details about poor service to an email address listed on a website as a way to contact the company and which will be unknown to anyone you will later speak with, hire this company. If you want to receive phone calls following up on service from people who have no clue about your past complaints, hire this company. If you want driveway sealant applied to your cinderblock wall and garage door trim, for no charge, hire this company. If you want to delay getting the original service completed 18 days later so you can first get the damage repaired, hire this company - but be sure not to tell them about the damage or send them photos of it so it can be repaired expeditiously and conveniently.

They scheduled my drive for the next week. No one showed up and I phoned and left a message. Someone phoned that evening and apologized and said they would be out the next day. They did show up the next day and did a nice job. I would use them again.

I called Americoat in mid-August requesting a coat for a driveway and sidewalk repair. I was told the estimate would take 3 weeks. 4 weeks later, I contacted the company again and was told the estimator had been out sick but he should get to me soon. 8 weeks after the initial request, an estimate was received but did not address my any of my requests. I responded to the estimator, Dan Wigginton, requesting a revised estimate. Still no response. This company is obviously poorly managed.

The crew didn't show up. At 5:30 pm I called and left a message asking for a call back to my cell phone. When I got back to work the next day, AmeriCoat had left me a message at 6 p.m. on my work phone saying the crew got sick and they had to reschedule. I had left my cell phone as a return call, but they didn't use. it. We rescheduled for the following Tuesday. Again, no show. BUT they did leave an invoice for the work. When we called, we were told that a crew comes out first and blows off the driveway and edges and leaves the invoice. But they had not edged and did not blow the driveway. We rescheduled for Thursday. Thursday, they left another invoice but did not blow the driveway off or edge. They called my husband's cell to say we needed premium service to fill in cracks and that they would have to reschedule. Which is what I told them when I scheduled the job! Needless to say we told them not to come back. We have worked with this company in the past and were satisfied. Clearly, something has happened in management or in crew hiring and they are no longer trustworthy.

I used to do this myself. Hauling 6 five gallon pails of sealer from Lowe's was not fun. I bought the "good stuff" did a single coat which was exhausting and messy...and I spent $200+ just on product! We have had Americoat do this work for several years---to include replacing some asphalt areas. They do great work. Friendly and professional. They clean up after. I tend to take their advice. I was willing to replace some asphalt areas this year---their specialist convinced us not to, but to go with two coats AND we did not need special service. In the fall they get busy so do not expect next day service, BUT in our case they had some cancellations and got out almost two weeks early. Last thought.... The better surface you leave them, the better the job comes out. I do a hard, deep edging before they come out. I also pressure wash with particular attention to any stains. Two days no cars is the minimum...if you can do three or four, do so. If you think a crack needs more stuff---call them.

All went well. They edged and filled cracks and gave driveway two coats of driveway dressing.

Gave me the estimate for patching and sealing only after I complained about getting an estimate for replacement only.

It went very well. They were able to complete the job as scheduled/planned. I thought they did a great job, and the driveway looks great. Having this done regularly, has kept our driveway in good shape, and has allowed me to prolong getting a new driveway.

I thought I'd save money and get one coat. The one coat was so thin that the rust stains were not covered. If you use AmeriCoat, get 2 coats.

We are still waiting for our driveways to be sealed as it keeps getting postponed. I have been frustrated with this company from the beginning and should have used that as a sign to go with a different company to avoid the headache I've had because of this company. From the beginning, I was constantly speaking with a new customer service person, each of which would tell me different information. I was quoted a group price for myself and 8 other neighbors and I provided the information to my neighbors. When I went back to confirm the addresses with Americoat, the price somehow changed. Thankfully I got them to honor the original price quoted, but I'm hoping when I receive the final invoice to send in all of the checks that I don't have to deal with more issues due to pricing. We were originally supposed to have our driveways sealed on June 9th, I received a call the day before stating due to weather, they needed to reschedule. The next day came, the weather was absolutely beautiful and Americoat was in our neighborhood doing other driveways that I know were scheduled that day (because I know the neighbors) but somehow they had to reschedule ours due to weather? This made no sense to me. When I called back because obviously people in the group were annoyed with this, I was told someone from our group called to reschedule. I know this didn't happen and am frustrated that I am now getting 2 different answers. Our group was rescheduled to Saturday 6/13, of which I received a call saying it needed to be rescheduled because of weather. I'm really just extremely frustrated with this company because I feel like they keep blowing us off, when we have 9 houses to be sealed that would provide them with an over $1000 profit day. I feel like I keep getting bumped around and that the company doesn't really care if they do our driveways or not. I also am still frustrated that they were in our neighborhood doing a bunch of other houses the day we were scheduled, yet we got rescheduled.... when it would have been a perfect day to do it. If our driveways don't get done soon, I fear we will have people backing out and going elsewhere to actually get it done in a timely manner. This company is not good with communication and apparently not good with pulling through with their services. I will probably never use this company again after this because it has been too much of an ordeal. I just hope all of our driveways in the group seal we are in get done SOON!

After seeing the poor job of asphalt sealing they did, I called them last Fall. It was too late to do any more coats because the weather was getting cold in November. However, they said that they would contact me this Spring. I wasn't contacted so I called them this Spring in March. They were supposed to get back with me but didn't so I called them again and left a message. Eventually, a girl called from their office and said that they had looked at my driveway in Canal Win. and said it looked great. Obviously, they didn't look at my driveway because it's not even covered. Now there is a notice that the business is closed. However, people in my neighborhood had their asphalt driveways sealed this week from Americoat. What's the deal???

Paid the amount quoted and got an additional 15% discount for neighborhood group discount. Excellent job completed. Very neat and the men were very friendly and professional. Thank you!

They kept us updated, when it had rained and let us know that they would be out the next day instead. They also evaluated the cracked areas and determined that we did not actually require the premium, more expensive service to fix them. They did the service that would take care of it and charged us the lower fee!! The driveway looks great and I will use them again in the future! A pleasure to deal with throughout.

I signed a contract with AmeriCoat in late fall of 2014. They suggested I wait until the spring to have the work done to ensure better weather and a quality installation. I was called in early spring and given a confirmed installation date. The crew arrived on time and on schedule with equipment that appeared to be clean and well-maintained. They proceeded to remove the old blacktop; install a conduit I provided under the driveway for my new sprinkler system; and removed an extensive tree root system that had caused problems with the old driveway. They also widened the driveway approximately 1 foot and contoured the edge so that I would be able to park an additional car. Looking at the condition of the subsurface and AmeriCoat decided to install a truckload of limestone to fill in all the low spots and provide a consistent and firm base. They also suggested waiting several days for the limestone to settle before applying a blacktop. Three days later the team returned and installed the new asphalt. They were careful to ensure there were no low spots or overruns onto the grass or the sidewalk. I've inspected the work after several rains, the driveway slopes gradually away from my house with no low spots or puddles. I had four estimates for the work, AmeriCost while not the lowest, was very reasonably priced. I would certainly recommend them to friends and neighbors needing asphalt driveways replaced.

We used them last year and my husband said he was going to call them again in the summer. It was a little more money I think but it really worked. So he is ready to call them again in a couple of months probably. We were really pleased with them. The price was okay. They were supposed to come two months before but never showed up and one day they just came luckily we were here. So I don't know what the problem was but they didn't show up when they were supposed to. They did such a good job.

Got a flyer in my mailbox and then saw some work completed by this provider around my neighborhood and the results looked good. Decided to give them a call and they were able to provide a quote over the phone. Was able to schedule in a timely manner and decided to have them come out. When the quote was given, there was nothing mentioned about how the current state of the driveway would effect the sealing (first time homeowner, so repair knowledge is limited). This was the first thing mentioned by the repair man. I agreed that there were some issues, but just wanted to get it sealed before winter. They cleaned the driveway to begin to seal but just blew all the debris and lots of my mulch onto the porches. Did not try to clean up before they left. When they were done, the job did look good so I decided to overlook. But now (3/2015), the coat that was put down has worn off in a lot of areas.

This company sealed a strip section of blacktop between my neighbors house and my fence. My driveway is on the other side of the fence. The fence is relatively new wood and is stained natural. They got blacktop sealer all over the base of my fence and did an extremely sloppy job. Although this was a service my neighbor had requested, since was not home i immediately called the company and complained about the situation. They said they would send the worker back. He never showed up so i had to scrape it off the fence myself before it dried. Not easy to do when sealer all over the ground.

They were on time, did a very nice job and left the area very clean

The gentleman who came did a great job. We had an appointment 3-4 weeks before and no one called or showed up. The man who finally came unannounced did a great job, was very professional. We would call them again.

Once the job was completed we did have to call them back out due to tracking. They came back out and resealed the specific areas. They were very prompt and courteous and I would use them again.

The provider came out and sealed my driveway on July 30, 2014. For some reason they only put on one coat. They sprayed asphalt on both of my garage doors, they sprayed asphalt on the siding of my house, and they also sprayed asphalt on the blocks of my house. I called and complained about the mess. They said they would look into it. Ha. Then they came back on August 8, 2014 to put on the 2nd coat. We complained to the man that put on the second coat, he then called his boss to let them know we were unhappy and the person that done our driveway done a really poor job and made a big mess of our new garage doors and the vinyl siding on the house. They said they would have someone come and power wash the mess. we talked with these people at least a half dozen times, we were told the clean up man will be there on this day(no show, no call) then the paint crew was supposed to show up on a certain day and they were a No Call, No show. We finally got the problem resolved. Would we use this company again,NEVER
