DAVE'S TREE SERVICE

Dave did a fine job. He was responsive and I appreciated that.

Dave's did an excellent job of taking down the tree, removing the limbs and large wood debris AND grinding the stump. (In retrospect, I wish I'd paid more to have them also remove the stump grindings - I thought that would be a simple job I could handle, but it was EXHAUSTING!) But Dave's did a great job - showed up as promised and finished the job promptly and safely at a VERY reasonable cost. I thank Dave's and recommend their services without reservation.

The service I received was excellent. The workers were very friendly and professional. My yard was cleaned up well. The original price was $450 before my Angie's List coupon. Highly recommended.

Absolutely excellent. Dave was in the area the day I called him for an estimate and he came right over. Since what we needed was not time critical he gave me a window of time and I assured him any of those times would be fine. They were out within that time frame and were quick and efficient. They cleaned up all of their mess and the only signs that they had been there at all were the missing branches. I will call them again should I ever have need of their service and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I was caught by surprise to find Brian on my property, w/o bother to ring the doorbell or introduce himself on July 3. Dave behaved the same way, when he showed up on July 4th. I though the estimate was fair. It was within my budget. However, I didn't get a written estimate. I got concerned when the workmen didn't arrive by 10:00 on July 4th. I called twice to verify they were coming. Both times I was told they were on the way. Dave arrived 11:20. I was worried about the work being done w/o estimate in writing. Dave didn't know I didn't get one. He promised to make good. And he did. Work got done, clean up was good. They answered my questions about insurance. Brian ran out to buy a camera for me, to have pictures taken for insurance.

Dave called back the next day, set up a time for an estimate and showed up on time. He gave me a written estimate, performed the work when he said he would and cleaned up the area. He charged exactly what he quoted and took away a pile of dead branches, that were in my yard at no additional cost. He called the day after completing the job, to see if I was satisfied with his work. I definitely felt that Dave was thorough and professional. He gets an ''A'' in my book. I have already referred him to a friend.

Dave returned my call the same day, gave me an estimte two days later (on Sunday) and did the work three days after that. I'm still waiting for a call back from another company that I asked to do the work a month ago. Dave was very polite, knowledgeable, on time, easy to reach and considerably less expensive than other estimates. He and John did a great job despite having to work around delicate electrical wires. He spent extra time grinding out a large mass of roots that had developed several feet in radius around the tree. Three of my neighbors came out and hired him on the spot for their tree trimming and removal. I won't hesitate to call him back for all my future work.

Dave was quick, courteous, and cost effective. The gave me an estimate the same day, even when I called him at 3pm. He then did the work the next day. Thanks Dave.

THEY CAME ON SHORT NOTICE, ON TIME AND REMOVED JUST THE BRANCHES THAT AFFECTED THE WIRES IN WIND OR HEAVY SNOW.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB. HE GAVE ME GREAT ADVICE ABOUT A TREE PROBLEM.

WORK WAS DONE SOON AFTER CONTACTING DAVE. THEY CLEANED EVERYTHING UP. I WAS VERY SATISFIED.

VERY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE. WHEN HE ASKED HOW I HAD HEARD OF HIM AND I SAID ANGIE'S LIST, HE IMMEDIATELY NOTED THAT THE ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT WOULD APPLY. I CALLED THURSDAY, LEFT A MESSAGE THAT IT MAY BE AN URGENT PROBLEM. HE CALLED BACK THURSDAY NIGHT, AND LOOKED AT/QUOTED THE JOB ON SATURDAY. SAID THEY COULD DO THE WORK ON THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY, BUT WERE ABLE TO DO IT ON TUESDAY. THEY STACKED THE CUT-TO-FIREPLACE-LENGTH LOGS (WHICH DAVE HAD VOLUNTEERED TO DO AFTER NOTING THAT I HAD A FIREPLACE). WHEN I TALKED TO DAVE AS TO HOW IT WENT, HE SAID THAT THE LIMB OVERHANGING THE GARAGE WAS MORE OF A PROBLEM THAT ORIGINALLY ESTIMATED. I OFFERED TO PAY FOR HIS INCREASED EFFORTS, BUT DAVE STUCK WITH HIS ORIGINAL PRICE QUOTE. HE ALSO GAVE ME SOME ADVICE ABOUT SOME SURFACE ROOTS THAT I HAD WANTED REMOVED FROM GRASSY AREAS. REMOVED SMALLER CUT LIMBS AND CLEANED UP THE AREAS SPIC AND SPAN. DAVE'S HELPFULNESS AND PROFESSIONALISM WERE VERY REFRESHING IN THIS DAY AND AGE.

THE DAY AFTER I CALLED, DAVE HAD A QUOTE IN MY HAND. HIS PRICE WAS LOWER THAN ANY OTHER BID, AND HE WAS COMMITTED TO GETTING THE JOB DONE BY THE END OF THE FOLLOWING WEEK. NOT ONLY DID THEY DO A GREAT JOB, BUT WERE DILIGENT IN GETTING A LARGE DEAD BRANCH (SMALL TREE) FROM AN OAK THAT REACHED OVER A HIGH POWER LINE. THE ANNUAL TREE SERVICE, HIRED BY THE ELECTRIC COMPANY, WOULD NOT TOUCH IT. THEIR CLEAN UP WAS IMPECCABLE, AND THEY FOLLOWED UP THE NEXT DAY TO GRIND ALL OF THE STUMPS. EXCELLENT JOB, EXCELLENT SERVICE, EXCELLENT PRICE.

THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE, HE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND PUNCTUAL. HE CAME THE DAY AFTER I CALLED FOR THE ESTIMATE, AND WAS RIGHT ON TIME. I'M VERY PLEASED AND I WILL BE USING HIM AGAIN

BEST PRICE, PROMPT SERVICE, PROFESSIONAL, DIPLOMATIC. WAS SO GOOD THE NEIGHBORS WERE ALL THINKING OF HIRING HIM TOO. I HOPE THEY DO, I AM SURE THEY WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

DID NOT SHOW UP AS SCHEDULED ON A FRIDAY EVENING TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. CALLED AND SAID HE'D COME ON A SATURDAY BEFORE 7. HE NEVER SHOWED UP. I CALLED HIM, HE SAID HE FORGOT AND APOLOGIZED. HE SAID HE'D CALL TO RESCHEDULE WITH ME. HE NEVER DID.

TWO OF THE WORKERS WORKED VERY HARD IN THE HEAT AND RAIN FOR THREE DAYS IN OUR YARD. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. GOT THE JOB DONE AS PROMISED AND LEFT OUR YARD CLEAN. WE WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IF WE NEEDED MORE WORK DONE AND WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY. OVERALL A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND CHEAPER THAN MANY OF THE OTHER ESTIMATES WE HAD!

ALTHOUGH HE DID NOT RETURN OUR INITIAL PHONE CALL, 2 DAYS LATER HE CALLED TO SAY THEY WERE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND WOULD LIKE TO STOP BY. UPON LOOKING AT THE TREE AND THE SOURCE OF THE SAWDUST, HE TOLD US THAT THE TREE WAS HEALTHY AND THE SAWDUST WAS JUST FROM ANTS CLEARING OUT DECAYED WOOD, NOT HARMFUL BUT ACTUALLY HELPFUL. HE TOLD US NO WORK OR TREATMENT WAS NEEDED AND REFUSED OUR OFFER OF PAYMENT FOR THE VISIT. HE GAVE ADVISE ON PRUNING AND FEEDING THE TREE TO KEEP IT HEALTHY. HE WAS POLITE, HONEST AND EVEN LOOKED AROUND THE YARD TO HELP US IDENTIFY 2 OTHER TREES WE WERE UNSURE OF.

I ASKED THREE COMPANIES FOR QUOTES AND DAVE RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY WITH A GOOD PRICE. WHILE WAITING FOR THE OTHER TWO COMPANIES TO RESPOND, DAVE CALLED BACK AND OFFERED AN EVEN BETTER PRICE, SAID HE NEEDED THE WORK. I SAID GREAT, AND NOTIFIED THE OTHERS NOT TO BID. DAVE AND HIS ASSISTANT ARRIVED PROMPTLY ON THE DAY PROMISED, WORKED QUICKLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. THEY NOT ONLY GROUND THE STUMP, BUT GROUND UP SOME OF THE BIGGEST ROOTS WHICH WERE CAUSING A SEWER PROBLEM. THEY LEFT THE SITE NEAT AND CLEAN. I GAVE THEM A LITTLE EXTRA OVER THE AGREED-UPON PRICE BECAUSE THEY DID SUCH AN OUTSTANDING JOB!

I DON'T APPRECIATE WHEN A CONTRACTOR SAYS HE'S GOING TO DO SOMETHING AND THEN JUST DROPS YOU. IT JUST WASTES MY TIME THINKING HE'S GOING TO RESPOND. SOME CONTRACTORS THINK THE WAY TO DECLINE A JOB IS TO TELL THE CUSTOMER, ''I'LL GET BACK TO YOU'', AND THEN HIGH TAIL IT OUT OF THERE. WELL, THAT'S NOT THE CASE. IF YOU DON'T WANT THE JOB OR CAN'T DO THE JOB, HAVE THE DECENCY TO CALL AND SAY SO.

HE RESPONDED PROMPTLY TO MY CALL. HE WENT OUT TO DO THE REMOVAL WHILE HE CALLED IN AN ESTIMATE TO ME.

DAVE CALLED ME BACK AND WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COMPLETE THE WORK, ANOTHER COMPANY JUST BEAT HIM TO IT. I NEEDED THE WORK DONE REALLY QUICKLY AND WAS NOT ABLE TO SHOP AROUND TOO MUCH. I WAS VERY PLEASED HOWEVER THAT DAVE CALLED ME BACK QUICKLY AND WAS VERY COURTEOUS.

I CALLED THIS COMPANY AND THEY INFORMED THAT I WOULD BE BETTER OFF CALLING SOMEBODY ON THE EAST SIDE. HE INDICATED THAT THEY WERE A WEST SIDE COMPANY.

I RECEIVED TWO OTHER ESTIMATES FOR THE SAME JOB AND BOTH WERE TWICE THE AMOUNT THAT DAVE'S CHARGED. DAVID KEEPS HIS OVERHEAD LOW. DON'T EXPECT A FANCY WORD-PROCESSED ESTIMATE OR A SECRETARY WHEN YOU CALL. YOU CAN EXPECT SOMEONE WHO IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL-- HE WON'T SELL YOU THINGS YOU DON'T NEED, LIKE THE SPECIAL $100 ''TREE FERTILIZER'' THAT ONE OF HIS COMPETITORS TRIED TO SELL ME. TWO OF MY NEIGHBORS LIKED DAVE'S WORK ON MY PROPERTY AND HIRED HIM ON THE SPOT. ONE OF THE BEST CONTRACTORS AROUND, PERIOD.

JOHN, DAVID, AND BRIAN WORKED VERY HARD, ALWAYS LOOKING OUT FOR EACH OTHERS SAFETY. EXCELLENT CLEAN UP.
