Within a week, I had contracted his company and the work was completed. Access to my property was tight, but Dave was able to get his equipment into position and quickly finished the job. Our neighbor also had trees trimmed the same day. The crew was friendly and efficient and cleaned up the site.
Description of Work: Trimming of three mature trees overhanging home and detached garage, removal of tree.

The estimate was a little higher than I anticipated, but I suspect that it was a fair price, though I did not obtain other estimates. I chose not to have the work done at this time, but I commend them on their customer relations.

Dave was pleasant, courteous and professional and gave me what I believed to be a reasonable estimate, so I asked him to perform the work. They came the next day an performed the work. Everything was done as I had asked and the yard was amazingly clean and undamaged. There was very little evidence they were even there. I was very pleased with the performance. I would definitely consider this company again for additional work.

He came over to take a look at the work, and we worked out a price for him to grind the stump/roots and then turn over the dirt/grass, and remove the plants from the areas that I wanted to plant grass in. Dave was good to work with. He got the job done right.
Description of Work: I needed a tree stump and the roots grounded. Also, I wanted some of the areas of the yard turned over so that I could plant grass.

 + -1 moreI asked three different services for estimates. One didn't respond at all. One took over a week to get back to me and Dave's Tree Service had a written estimate in my mailbox within 48 hours. I was impressed but not as much as what I was with the excellent job that was done. The trees were removed at the end of November. It was very wet and the yard I was sure was going to be a real mess to clean up. I was amazed at the speed the crew worked and the yard was none the worse for all the work that was done, saving me a what I was sure would be a big job come Spring. Dave kept me informed of all activity and even went to neighbors to let them know that he would be working. I would highly Dave's tree service to anyone.
Description of Work: Removal of two large trees from very difficult locations including stump removal. Trees were both over 48 inches on the stump. One in the front of the house was a maple which hung dangerously over the neighbors house as well as my own. One in the rear of the house was a very large sycamore surrounded by wires and extremely heavy and required a great deal of work to cut it to size for removal.

 + -1 moreDave was great. Came out and was very detailed in all the logistical aspects of how my large maple tree would have to be removed. He was also very upfront about possible damage that could be caused by a crane on a driveway and how a company that owned their own crane may be able to offer me a better price. I would not hesitate calling Dave again for other arboral (is this a word) work.

 + -1 moreWe called on Sunday, as this was listed in Angie's List as regular hours, but should be changed to emergencies. It says to call between 7 and 12 and we called at 9 and woke up Dave. He is a West-sider and wasn't sure he could make it out on Sunday pm but he did. That was the reason why we called him otherwise we would have called a closer company. He cut down the tree and left it as friends were going to come and take the wood. But the stump was 3/4 out and he left it like that. He said he would come back and finish the job for $50. We told him not to bother as we felt he overcharged already and no one should leave the job the way that he did.
Description of Work: A storm blew a tree over and was caught in another tree. The roots were out of the ground as well. At the estimate, Dave stated that there would be a stump, and there was a good chance it would go back into the ground close to it's original position, but it might not. The next day he removed the tree, cut it into firewood logs as requested, and got rid of other branches that fell. However, the stump was at the same angle, and looked like an unfinished job. I phoned him and he restated that there was a chance it wouldn't go back into the ground. He quoted $50 to come remove the stump, to cover the equipment and gas for the distance. I declined. I removed the stump with the help of a friend (no equipment needed). It appears Dave didn't even try to move it. If he had, he would have also been able to remove it. Because of the stump issue, I have to decrease his rating, although his tree removal portion was very good.

 + -1 moreI called Dave on a Friday evening. He returned my call within one hour. He arrived the next day and gave me an estimate and the estimate was signed. The work was completed approx one week later as I did not have a specific time that the work needed to be done. The tree branches were trimmed and I was asked if the work was done to my liking. It was perfect. All tree limbs and debris were cleaned up and hauled away.

 + -1 moreI ran into a big problem while installing a wood fence at my new home. When the fence guys started to install the fence along the back of the property line they were in the direct line of a very large stump. I needed to get someone out to deal with the stumps right away or risk a major delay in the installation. I called several companies who said it would be 2-3 weeks before they could do the work. I got one estimate for $250. Then I called Dave. He said he could get it done over the weekend. We talked on Thursday and on Saturday someone called to say they were on their way over to take care of the stumps. They did the job for $100 and did it well. When I went to inspect the work, there was no evidence of the stumps ever having been there. They helped me out in a major way, and I am very grateful. I will definitely use them in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone.

 + -1 moreI contacted Dave's Tree Service by email. I received an email response the following day. My significant other (s.o.) called, since I work and my schedule is uncertain, and asked for the removal. My s.o. called on Wednesday, and on Saturday the stump was gone! I wasn't home when the stump was removed, so Dave's employee called my s.o., who lives nearby and was able to come over to pay him. In this day and age, such service is hard to find!
Description of Work: I had a lilac bush (more like a tree)that had carpenter ants. We had to cut it down, after several large limbs broke and fell. However, we couldn't remove the stump. We needed to hire someone who could grind the stump and remove the debris.

 + -1 moreWe were 100% satisified with the service. We called him about pruning some dead limbs from a very large oak tree. He promptly gave us a free estimate for both pruning and total tree removal. Once we decided to have the tree removed, he quickly set up a date for the work. He and his staff showed up on time on the scheduled date. The entire staff was very friendly, helpful and hard working. I was especially pleased with excellent clean up. They cleared all the sawdust and leaves from the porch roof, driveway, yard and public sidewalk. We would highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreGreat. They did exactly what they said they would for a price that I felt was more than reasonable. They were also pretty good natured about the job and even though I would not have faulted them for grumbling about the work involved. I would use them again, anytime.
Description of Work: We gave this contractor a difficult challenge. We had 4 large trees removed, along with 6 smaller ones. The kicker was that the trees were all located on a hillside, behind our house with a very steep drop, any steeper and you would need ropes to rappel down the hill. The drop is about 50 feet down to a creek bed. The contractor had to climb down the hill and drop the trees at a specific angle, so they would not get hung up in the other trees. All in all, it was quite the challenge.
