DAVE'S TREE SERVICE

The job went very well. I had received a quote from a well known tree service that was almost twice as expensive just to trim the maple tree. I contacted Dave through Angie's list and he provided an initial estimate by visiting my home the next day when I was at work. From the original quote, which was just to trim the maple, to other additions I made, Dave was very responsive to my inquiries through Angie's List. On the day he came to do the work (my wife and I were both at work), he called to confirm what was to be done and took care of everything that we had discussed. If not for the great work on the trimming and the tree removal, I would not have known he was there, as everything was cleaned up very well. What makes this all the more impressive is that I never met Dave face to face. He took what I asked, replied promptly, and took care of the work 100%. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Fantastic service. He advised not to remove one tree but recommended taking out a different tree. Took out four trees, one of which was growing up immediately against the house. All four trees simply disappeared. Amazing job done all in one day.

I couldn't ask for more. The communication with me and later with my neighbors was good. I knew when they were coming and they went to my neighbors and politely asked if the could set up on their property. They did what I needed to be done and more. They trimmed where things needed to be trimmed and cleaned up more than they caused. Then Dave wanted to charge me the original estimate which was much less than he should have gotten for all the extra things they did for me. I insisted on paying him more and it was still less than other tree services would have charged for doing a less thorough job. Dave's Tree Service has the skills, the equipment and the man-power to handle a whole range of difficult jobs in a very professional manner. I'm used to seeing their trucks around the area and now I know why.

I would highly recommend Dave, he and his team were professional and got the job done in approximately 24 hours. We even had an old tree (small) from our neighbor's yard blow down after Dave's crew left and he stopped back and ground that up for us as well. The clean up was good too.

Dave was timely and fair. Did a very nice job and cleaned up nicely.

It was sometime this summer. It was $400. They did the work as I agreed to, are professional to deal with the workers, were out, and very busy the whole time. I did not have any trouble with them. They were very good. I would use them again.

The work was done as contracted. Took awhile for them to come to do the job after we contracted with them, but overall we were happy with everything.

Dave had cut down a small tree about three weeks prior to this incident. I had once again spoken to Dave about the removal of some trees and also some pruning. After agreeing to his price quote, Dave was to return to do this work on Oct. 25,2013.However, on the morning of Oct.24, I was awakening from sleep at 4:am to a early fall snow storm that had caused one of the large trees to be cut down to split and over half of the tree had fallen across my driveway and blocked my garage door. This meant I had no way of getting my auto out of the garage. Also, much to my horror another very large tree not scheduled to be removed had been toppled in the back yard. In addition, the property was littered with tree branches everywhere. I phone Dave at 4:30 am, but was unable to reach him. I left a voice mail message for him, letting him know that I really needed his help in order to get my auto out of the garage. I needed to leave my home because all electric power and heat was out due to the storm. It was several hours before Dave returned my phone call but when he did , he assured me that he would get to my home before night fall and give me access out of the garage. The storm continued throughout the day, but late that evening, Dave and his crew arrived. They had been working since 4a.m. that morning. They were tired, wet and cold. Nevertheless, he keep his word and removed the blockage from my drive. He explained that it had taken him so long to arrive because he had gotten over 75 calls that day. He returned very early the next day and completed the agreed upon work, plus cut up the other large tree that had fallen and ground up the stump.Dave went above and beyond in every sense of the word.Dave is a true professional.

Dave came out the same day as our first call to provide an estimate for tree removal. He actually came a week earlier than he origianlly estimated to do the job. Dave and his crew worked non-stop for 9 hours to remove our trees, the largest of which was close to our house and the other two very close to our neighbor's garage. We were impressesd with the professional way Dave and his crew did the job, cleaning up debris as they worked. Before they could start the job, they had to remove part of a wooden fence to access our yard and they replaced it as though it had never been taken down. We would definitely call Dave again for tree trimming, etc.

They arrived promptly. We discussed what I wanted done, and they were very helpful. All the work was done quickly and efficiently. They did great clean up. I was very impresses and satisfied.

Returned call promptly. Work and cleanup provided as desired. Would recommend.

Dave provided estimate within a few days of my first call. Once I committed to have the work done, he confirmed and gave an approximate date of service to occur within about 2 weeks. Dave called a day ahead to schedule and arrived right on time. All work was completed in about 1/2 day exactly as promised. Work was professional, timely and complete for a reasonable price. I will use Dave again and recommend him highly.

absolutely great! dave and his crew were here at 10:30 am and the entire tree was gone by 5pm....stump grinding included! the only glitch i have had was with a couple of rather deep ruts that resulted when large parts of the trunk were dropped onto the lawn. since its in the back yard it really isnt a problem, as i filled them with some mulch left when the trunk was ground. i have no leaves to blow this fall and no acorns to hit me in the head !! i can retire my hardhat and sit on the deck this summer....:)

Dave's Tree Service did an excellent job. Advance notice was provided so that we knew when to expect them. The trimming was done efficiently and the clean up afterwards was done quickly. The trees look great. The company was great to work with and gave us a very good deal. We will use them again the next time we need to have trees trimmed.

Contacted Dave's Tree Service to get a quote for some work, and got a quick response. Got the quote and told the guys that came out that I had already scheduled some other folks to come out for quotes as well and that I'd get back to them after I had all my quotes and that I expected that to be completed the next week. Just over a week later, I had all my info collected and I called back to schedule the work. Now the price has increased 60%. Apparently the quote I got was only valid if I did the work right then because he'd had a cancellation and was already in the area. The fact that the price was only good if I agreed to do the work right then was NOT mentioned when I got the quote. I told the guys that came out that I thought the price sounded good and that I'd likely be calling them back after I got the other quotes - still no mention of the fact that the price was good only for that day. Had I known the price was good for that day only, I might have been willing to re-arrange my schedule and cancel the other folks I had scheduled to come out to give me quotes - but, again, that was never mentioned when I got the "quote". At the increased price, I've got another quote that's lower, so I'll be getting the work done by another service.

I phoned Dave and asked to get a estimate of the cost to remove this tree and stump. I received a quick response to my request and 4 days after my initial contact, Dave and his crew arrived and did a great job of removing the tree. He was very professional in all aspects of doing the work. I would not hesitate to use his company again and would recommend him to anyone.

Dave came to look at our dying cottonwood tree that we wanted removed. It was about 75 feet tall and fairly close to the house. Cottonwoods are a nasty tree to have near a house. They are brittle and sometimes drop live branches even when there is no wind. They drop many small curved twigs that are perfect for clogging gutters. Whenever it gets dry or hot, they drop leaves, even in mid-summer. They also drop sticky buds in the spring. I have to clean the gutters of their debris every few weeks all summer. Anyway, Dave said he could cut it down very soon if his guy climbed the tree, but it would cost more or he could use his bucket truck when the wet ground dried out and that would be cheaper. I went for the bucket price at $1100. He said he would call when he thought the ground was dry enough. One Saturday evening while my wife and I were walking the dog, we saw Dave and his crew cleaning up at another job about 1/2 mile down our street. Minutes earlier I had received a voice mail from him asking if he could do the cottonwood Sunday morning. I agreed on the spot and before noon the next day, a small parade of Dave's trucks arrived at our house. They trimmed a few branches from other trees to get the bucket into our back yard. One guy, (Tom?) did all the work from the bucket using his saw and ropes. It was fun to watch him take down that nasty tree. The whole thing was down in 65 minutes of work. We were so happy to see it gone. I also asked Dave if they could trim some pin oak branches that were rubbing on the roof. I paid a $150 extra for that. The cleanup, which was very thorough, took several hours. Then they ground out the stump. I asked Dave if I could have the wood chips from the cottonwood. I wanted to spread them under some trees in the back of the yard. He agreed and dumped them on a tarp for me. A neighbor came over and had them take out a couple stumps at his house, as well. While that was going on, I paid Dave and we had a long talk about the tree business. Dave is a great guy to swap stories with. He had some great ones. i told him about another nasty tree I had removed by a competitor a few years earlier. It was a black locust. They have huge, sharp prickers and they send up fast growing shoots from all their roots after they are cut down. Two years later, they are still coming up and I keep cutting them off and putting week killer on the cut. A few days later, I cleaned up the chips from the cottonwood stump and notices that a couple large roots remained that were right at ground lever. Since the tree was in the corner where two concrete walks met, the operator was afraid he might hit the concrete and ruin the cutters. But those needed to be removed. I gave Dave a call and left a message. I didn't hear back from him, but I knew he would take care of the job when he had a chance. He is a busy man since he does a good job at a good price. Tonight as we were finishing another dog walk, my wife noticed the stump grinder in our drive. I ran down to see if my truck was blocking the way to the back yard. His man just waved and said, "It's all gone!" as he backed out of the drive. I took a look and the job was done! Now I can fill in the hole. I smile every time I think about having no more cottonwood leaves, twigs, and buds all over the yard, roof, and in my gutters. I called three other tree companies in my area and all three estimated a higher price than Dave's and all three eventually called and told me the job was too difficult, given the location and height of the tree. But Dave and his crew had no trouble with that tree at all. He will be my tree guy forever!

I called Dave to talk about having a row of tree stumps removed so that I could plant grass. Ironically, he and his crew were only a few streets away WITH THE STUMP GRINDER ON THE TRAILER! They stopped by, took a look at the job, gave me a reasonable estimate and within an hour the job was complete!

They did a great job, I called them back to pick up dead limbs in my trees they came back and did back.

He did a good job. There are a few roots that he missed. He offered, at the time of service, to come back out if need be. However we just took care of it ourselves. I would recommend his company to anyone.

The service was excellent. They had a good price. Dave was a great guy. He was very considerate, they cleaned up after themselves. Great service.

The trees are located near the street. The operator was able to grind out all three stumps to the point that we were able to plant three new trees in the adjacent areas this summer. Nice job, quick service, no hassle. Will use this company again if needed. This was a good value compared to renting a stump grinder and trying to do it yourself.

The service is exemplary. He trimmed the trees like an artist so they are beautifully shaped. The yard was cleaned up of all debris and left in perfect shape. Dave and his employee are friendly and there is complete attention to detail. He provided exactly what he said he would and even went beyond. We would recommend him to anyone who likes attention to detail and his price is VERY reasonable.
