Baker Heating and Cooling

Our thermostat was acting up, so we called Baker and they sent Chris to check it out. He helped us figure out what to order, and just a few days later, after the new thermostat arrived, Trevor came to install it. These guys - once again - were friendly, efficient, on time, and reasonable. We highly recommend!

I needed to call Baker for a new issue for the 2nd time in just a span of a few weeks. I had the same EXCELLENT(!) service, including a speedy response from the person who processes incoming requests, and a technician (Chris) who was capable and easy-going and who took care of the issue in less than 30 minutes. And ... the cost was more than fair. I had already given them a 5-star rating from the first visit, but the 2nd visit confirmed my belief that Baker is an outstanding local business. Kudos to the owners and staff!

Our air conditioning went out on a Sunday afternoon. I left a message on Baker's website on Sunday, and they called me first thing on Monday morning. My repair was completed by noon!!! Schon, our service technician, was friendly and extremely competent and the repair cost was very reasonable. I would 1,000% recommend this company to others.

They arrived on time, took out the old a/c and furnace and replaced both. they did a great job and cleaned up very nice.

Baker Heating provided a service call within an hour and a new furnace within 36 hours during the coldest & busiest days of winter. They were efficient, professional, honest, respectful and very reasonably priced. Another company missed a failing heat exchanger 30 days prior and Thomas & Galbraith didn’t report any problem 3 months prior. There were dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and raw gas from exhaust pipe.; thankfully none in house. I will call the family run Baker Heating when I need service!

I called on a Thursday and came on Friday, the tech was able to give me information that was totally different information than the precious company did. His price was cheaper too. He was done in a couple of hours. He had the experience and he knows what he is talking about.

A bad fan motor repair. He was honest on what to be repaired.

They were very accommodating which allowed us to move the outside unit from the patio to the side of the house and included that in the cost which was good for us.

They are reasonably priced and efficient. They do professional work and the techs seem to be all well trained.

I called Baker early in the morning to say the exterior fan of the heat pump was not working. The lady who answered reminded me to change the thermostat to Emergency until a technician could visit. We made an appointment for early in the afternoon. The tech called to say he could be over early if that was OK. He examined the system, found the exterior fan frozen , and freed it. He told me what  to do to avoid the problem . I paid up, and we were done. Good job, and I can put a short roof over the outside fan to keep water from dripping on it.

The installer was very courteous and professional. He completed his work in a timely manner. I did notice the humidifier was not working properly after installation, but they sent someone out that day to fix it which only took 10 minutes. They did a great job. I would recommend Baker Heating and Cooling to anyone needing their services.

The technician vacuumed out the furnace that had minimal dust then unplugged and replugged wires and told me my circuit board was malfunctioning. He touched two wires together to show me no readout on the circuit board. When I said I had heat last night, both low and high speed, he said it was just waiting to die, I was wrong, it was only operating on the high speed and that the motor was not acting properly, it was revving too fast.  
He made a call to Carrier who quoted him $380 for the circuit board--I overheard the conversation. The technician then told me the cost of the board was $700, that the life of a circuit board was only seven years at best, and he?d ?give? it to me for $600 and charge me $780 for parts and labor because I was a first-time customer.  
I mentioned that the Carrier parts department had just quoted him the $380 price and he said that was the cost to Baker and they needed to mark it up. (After he left I looked the part up online and anyone could purchase it for $360 from Carrier online)  
Your technician left me with no heat, a broken furnace that had been working perfectly till he came and said he would be back tomorrow with the part and I should tell Baker Heating he needed to be the one to install the part.  
I called Baker Heating and Cooling after the technician left telling them not to order the circuit board as I felt something was ?off?. How could I go from a working furnace to needing a new one?  
I then called another company and they sent out a service person the next morning. After searching around he located an unplugged wire to the circuit board in the rear of the furnace. He said for a cleaning there would be no reason to unplug a circuit board wire. He reattached the wire and my furnace is now once again working perfectly. The charge was $150 for a service call plus the hour it took to locate the problem.  
I am beyond angry. An $89 charged jumped to $780. There was also  the threat that the motor could also be broken and at that point maybe a new furnace was in order. My furnace is only ten-years-old, a Carrier 58MVP model that costs $8,000.  
You can make excuses but your technician, a senior technician in the business for twenty-five years as he told me, was attempting to scam me and I resent this to no end. I am sending this letter to the following complaint departments in Ohio/Cincinnati and telling my friends and neighbors about this situation. I?ve lived in Milford for forty years.

Greg came out at 10:30 the night before to see what the problem was, he ordered the part the next morning and by the end of the day we were up and running. I highly recommend them to anyone and the quality of work is outstanding.

From my initial call to their arrival was less than two hours. Charles did a quick assessment and eyeballed everything that took just a few moments. He then went to work. Within about 30 minutes, he had heat up and running. I recognize it was just a small, easy job but they honestly told me and billed me as if it was a small easy job.
