It worked out very nice. The job was done as I expected and it was good. I would recommend them. They came as I expected them and took as much time as I thought it would which was pretty routine.

I had a very strict budget for the project and they worked with me to find the fencing options within that budget. It did take them near a month to get out and do the project, but they did a very nice job. They even replaced some of the hardware on an existing fence for no charge. They did a nice job cleaning up and I am very satisfied with the final product.
Description of Work: They gave me an estimate and stuck to it. It took them a while to get around to doing the project, but when they did it, they did a great job.

They did work late until eight pm and came early at seven am. Some ways they were lazy. We wanted a half inch space space between the boards. He had a tool to make the space three quarters and make it easy for him. He talked me into it. My husband talked to him after me and told him we wanted half inch before they started. They installed it with a three quarter space anyway. They were also supposed the install an eight foot wide gate so we could drive a car through it. They installed a smaller gate. We talked to the owner and he said that he was not aware that we wanted to do that. We did discussed this in the original meeting for the quote. What they installed was not what they said and not what was part of the quote. He said they can not take all of the boards off to correct it. The owner offered us a gift certificate to a restaurant then he offered to help paint the fence for us. They were less expensive than the other four bids we received and did good work. It does look nice if you look at it. It just is not what we asked for. I would recommend them for the work, but I would worn them that they did cut corers and did not follow out instructions.

Ultimate Concepts is a terrible company. Period. To Ray (march 25, 2012) if you would like to come see our sink hole from them, feel free to come on over. If I could give them less than a one star, I would. They have a great sales pitch, but don't follow up with it. We were to get a composite deck built in '10. First of all, they promised it would be completed by May. They didn't start digging until the first week of May. Then they disconnected our sump pump and failed to inform us. That day, it rained a lot. When I got home, our sump pump was pouring water right into the hole they just dug. This caused a huge gaping hole next to our foundation. (Fortunately, our sump pump wasn't ruined.) Then they didn't return for weeks, so the holes they dug didn't pass the a county auditor's inspection. We sat with very dangerous holes in our yard for over 6 weeks! We had to warn our neighbors who had small children to stay away from our back yard and my husband had to force Ultimate Concepts to come out and put caution tape around it. The holes continued to fill with water each time they drained, so the inspector would not pass them. We worked directly with the owner who decided they would NOT FINISH THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said we had a drainage problem. He sent out guys to empty the holes of water and fill them in with fill dirt. They did NOT EMPTY THE WATER and just threw top soil in, so we had 5 huge sink holes in our yard. This was MORE dangerous than the open holes, because our grass had been placed over them. My husband had to pull up our newly laid sod and fill the holes with fill dirt. Also, the gaping hole on the side of the house continues to sink to this day, so we now (2 years later) have to have someone come out and fix what they could not. They ended up returning our money, but it will cost us money each time we have to repair our yard. We ended up having another company come out and do our deck. They had no problems and also informed us that we indeed did NOT have a drainage problem. We will use them again to fix the damage that Ultimate Concepts' negligence continues to create. This company is more than just a bad company, they are negligent. In fact, if I had the time and resources, I would have sued them for their negligence just to keep them from screwing over other customers. We tell everyone not to use them when ever we see their ads on our mailboxes in the neighborhood.
Description of Work: They dug holes in our yard to make a deck. They improperly filled them back in when they decided they could not do the deck due to their negligence.

We contacted Ultimate Concepts about doing a deck and fence at our home. The beginning of the processes started out great! The salesman came out and showed us the prepared book about how great the company is and how great the work was. He explained to us that they only use the best wood, and it would never come from Lowes or Home Depot. He talked about the extra training they make their employees go through, specifically specialized training in decks and fences. He explained how all the employees were employed by the company and they never used subcontractors.Everything was great.....until....lowes showed up to drop the wood off. This immediately brought some concerns to our eyes because we were specifically told that the wood they used was of the highest quality and they would never buy from that store, but whatever, we didn't care wood is wood right! The next day the guy shows up to install the deck in our backyard. I begin talking to him, only to find out he was subcontracted to do the work, and that they are required to wear "Ultimate Concept" shirts when they are on a job for them. It was however plain as day that he does his own work because his truck had his business logos on it. The next week same thing with the fence people. They were subcontractors sent to do the job on behalf of Ultimate Concepts. As far as the Deck goes, we are tearing it down. The deck is clearly slanted back towards to the house (You can see it by looking at it), which causes rain water to drain toward the foundation. The craftsmanship of the deck is subpar. The step that goes from the deck to the ground isn't attached very well to the structure of the deck. When you step down on it the whole step moves. It was toe nailed to the frame. As far as the fence goes, the crew came out and dug all the holes, only to figure out they dug the holes in the wrong spots. Now we have holes in our yard that were never filled in. The quality of the fence isn't bad. The subcontractors did come out and replace the hinge on the gate. I just contacted them directly to do that. It became apparent to me that Ultimate Concepts has a business model that uses high pressure sales to get people to commit. They have a bunch of subcontractors they contract to do jobs and call them their employees while they are contracted. Even the contractors they hired were talking bad about the company. Some of our other neighbors have used them and feel the same way about the company as we do.

When I explained that price was outside my budget I asked for a breakdown of the estimate so I could prioritize the jobs to be done. I didn't get the information I asked for and the only detail I did get was that the fence was $5000 and the basement was $8000. I told him I could not spend $5000 on a fence and we would need to review the materials and the size to get a better estimate. I never did receive additional itemization for that original estimate. After a week of trying to get more information, I got an email from the owner telling me he was busy with the home and garden show and would prefer to delay our negotiations until after I purchased the home. That was Feb. 28th and I have not heard from him since.
Description of Work: Service provider met me at the home I am purchasing - still have not yet held a closing, but am within days of doing so. He provided an estimate of $17,500 to refinish half of my basement, install fencing around back yard, blow insulation into attic, do some crack repair on walls and paint in family room.

Our experience was top-notch. The work was scheduled in late Oct and completed in early Nov. The gentleman that did the fence worked through nasty, cold drizzle/rain and wind to get the job done in a timely manner. We told him he didn't need to do that, but he moved forward anyway. The job was done in a couple days and the result is phenomenal!! We couldn't be happier with the new section of fence. The service we received was so impressive, that we have hired Ultimate Concepts to completely rebuild our basement and fix a water/foundation issue that was recently discovered in our basement. Work begins today(Jan 9, 2012) so I'll be sure to report on that, too. So far, we love these guys!!!!!!
Description of Work: The previous owners of our home installed a nice wooden fence. Unfortunately, we have an APE utility box in the yard right next to the fence that opens toward the fence. Each time the power goes out in our neighborhood, AEP comes out and tears the fence down. As you can imagine, this eventually led to significant degradation of the entire section of fence. We hired Ultimate concepts to come out and replace a large section of the fence, as well as install a lrge, double gate that couple be opened to access the utility box.

On 8/24/11 an employee by the name of George came out to my house on behalf of Ultimate Concepts to look at our roof and provide me with an Estimate. After looking this over, he gave me a verbal estimate of $7200 for our entire roof to be replaced, as well as a 2nd verbal estimate of $2100 for our patio roof to be rebuilt. On that day, i requested from him a Detailed Estimate (itemized) of all the work to be done and he said that would be no problem. He did advise that he had been very busy and it may take him a few days to get everything together, and I said OK. A Week went by, and I heard nothing. On 8/30 (6 days later) I finally called Ultimate Concepts, talked to one of the secretaries, explained that I was still waiting for an estimate from George, and she said she would contact him. 2 more days goes by, still no word, so i call again and she sends me an "estimate" via email that basically is a generalized quote that names some of the materials to be used and a lump sum number of $6500 for the aforementioned roofing project, and $2100 for the patio project. (keep in mind, original verbal estimate of $7200, now its $6500). I email her back stating this is not itemized. If I am going to pay this much money, I want to know what Im paying for. And who in their right mind thinks an INsurance company is going to accept a "estimate" thats writen via email. No letter head, no itemization, no details on the work to be done or anything. Another week goes by, and 4-5 phone calls later, Now my "Case" as they called it is handed off to some other "estimator" name Brian, who "Specializes" in Insurance estimates. Im told on the morning of thursday 9/1/11 that he will be contacting me that day or the follow day (friday 9/2). Friday comes and goes, the weekend comes and goes, monday and tuesdaycomes and goes and finally i call the company at 6pm because I havent heard from this Brian guy yet. The girl in the office says she'll try to reach him and have him call me right away. She calls me back 15 minutes later and says she got ahold of Brian and he'll call me after 7pm that night when he gets home. 7:30pm that evening my phone rings, its Brian, we talk, i find out he's not even an employee of Ultimate Concepts. He works for a different company, Greci Goods and Services, and tells me that Ultimate concepts basically called him to subcontract him to give me an estimate. I tell him I specifically need a line by line estimate of all costs involved. Based on measurements of the roof size, I need to know how much is material going to cost (itemized: cost of shingles, ice guard, ridgevent, felt paper, lumber, etc), how much is labor, how much is haul off, how much is demo, etc. He says no problem, I'll have it to you tomorrow (9/7/11). On Wed 9/7 I had to call him back to remind him to send the information. Within 20 mins I received another email from the secretary. This time it literally says the EXACT Same thing the original Email did that she sent, only NOW the cost is back up to $7200 total for the roof replacement, and still $2100 for our patio job. BUT THERE IS STILL NO ITEMIZATION!! 14 days from the initial contact with the FIRST ESTIMATOR, GEORGE, and Im still at square one with this company. So, I call this Brian guy back and explain to him that the "estimate" is still not itmized. He then blatently tells me he cannot give me an itemization because his company doesnt want to pay the $1100 a month service for the exactimate software that most other companies use to itemize information. So what was the point of me being "handed off" to him??? Ultimate Concepts just wasted another WEEK of my time by doing this BS. Brian tells me when i talked to him wednesday (9/7/11) night that he will get back in contact with either George (the original estimator) or the Owner of Ultimate Concepts (Bill Holloway) and have them contact me directly to get things settled. I gave him a deadline of friday 9/9/11 and never heard anything. So friday morning, I called the ofice, spoke to the secretary again, who also said she would contact Bill or George and have them call me. Its now Sunday 9/11/11 and Still no word from Either one. The secretary had been trying to get ahold of this George Guy since the first time I called, a week and a half ago, and He still has not responded to any requests to call me back. Needless to say, there is no way he H**L I will do any further business with this company. THey have now wasted 2 and a half weeks of my time , and all i was trying to do was get an Itemized Estimate of the job. PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE WORTHLESS!!!

The price was good. Unfortunately, the sanding and everything didn't last, so they had to come back out and redo it. They came back and redid it all free of charge. They were professional and punctual. Their clean-up was decent. There were some scraps, but it was no big deal. They were very responsive. They did work with me quite well. I was able to work with them on the price. All in all, it was pretty good.

We had a two-fold project: 1) tear down a chain link fence and build a wooden fence; and 2) finish a 315 sq ft screened in porch into a four-seasons room. I dealt directly with Bill, the company president, in getting my estimates and signing the contract. Part 1: We decided to get a 5 ft scalloped wooden fence with 1 1/2 inch spacing and we honestly could not be happier with it. On the first day, they completed the chain link fence tear down, as well as putting up posts and fence for half of the yard (~200 linear feet). The second day they completed most of the other half. The unfinished part took longer because it required drilling posts through the driveway and building a complex gate. The entire job took under three days and looks amazing. Part 2: I give Ultimate Concepts major kudos for working with us on finishing the screened in porch into a four seasons room. Our chief consideration was that the structure of the porch be used...we did not want a tear down and rebuild. One contractor said they would have to tear down and rebuild--despite our saying that was not what we wanted. Another contractor gave a rough estimate for $20k, then called back and said he did not think what we wanted was possible. Two other contractors failed to submit bids. The tricky part was that we had a severely sloped floor (3 in. back to front over 12 ft) with little head room to give for raising the floor due to a strongly sloped roof/ceiling. UC was successfully able to level the floor by framing it and raising it 5 inches in the back and 2 in the front. The doors were custom ordered to the right height and to swing in so they were not obstructed by the overhanging roof were they to swing out (the roof/height issue being the primary reason the first contractor said we had to tear down). We also got insulated sliding windows all the way around the room. They were high grade, locally sourced windows. UC also blew insulation into the ceiling and knee walls to make sure the entire room is insulated. Additional activities they performed to convert the room included: + tearing down siding on the wall bordering the house and putting up dry wall + putting up drywall over the wooden knee wall + installing two ceiling fans (one was included in the price; replacing one that was there) + putting up trim and moulding throughout the room + painting the room + installing carpet with top-of-the-line carpet padding The only drawbacks were 1) the sub/employee doing the work was often late, left early, and did not always show up when he said he would (even with that, the project was finished only a few days late); and 2) he was not the best drywall person. He knew what he was doing, but there are a number of minor imperfections in the work. I will say, however, that he was very customer service oriented and worked hard while he was there. Overall, the transformation was exactly what we had hoped for and was kept within our budget. We sincerely appreciate the work that UC did for us. The overall price for the job was $18,500 and, in addition to the fence and sunroom, included putting up quarter-inch drywall over the plaster walls in an interior room and painting the room.
Description of Work: Fence + tear down chain link fence + build 5 ft scalloped wooden fence with 1.5 in. spacing (~200 linear feet) + build 2 gates; 1 small gate and one large gate with wheels for the driveway Sunroom + pour concrete to level floor (had ~3 in. slope from front to back) + install new custom, insulated doors (x2) + install new custom, insulated sliding windows and screens (40 linear feet) + tear down siding on the wall bordering the house and put up dry wall + put up drywall over the wooden knee wall (this made the entire interior drywall and glass) + install two matching ceiling fans + put up trim and moulding throughout the room + paint the room (walls, ceiling, trim) + install carpet with top-of-the-line carpet padding

Contacted Ultimate Concepts to get a quote on a fence and a patio. The operator was friendly but said the soonest they could send someone out for an estimate was 6 days. I made the appointment. Ultimate Concepts completely no-showed. I didn't get a call to tell me they were running late or needed to reschedule or anything. I called the operator 30 minutes after my scheduled estimate was to begin and got voicemail. Don't waste your time with a company who has done nothing but waste mine. -- Update: The estimator showed up at a different time, under the impression he had arrived on time. Once onsite, was very friendly and helpful in proposing a solution. Communication still may not be the best here.

Very responsive and professional in coming to the house and providing an estimate. However, this was the only contractor who didn't provide a brochure describing materials, quality, warrantee information, or even a schematic of the proposed fence. We received a business card with a quote written on the back of it. I prefer to have the details of the proposed job spelled out at the time of the estimate so everyone is on the same page when it is time to do the project.

Did a good job. Showed up when they said they would. Individuals were friendly and showed us how it worked.

They were reliable. They showed up when they said they would and answered all my questions. They were willing to go out of the way to do anything I asked them to do. They were the best price for what they did.
Description of Work: They built me a privacy fence in my backyard.

There has been a total lack of communication. The workmanship has been sloppy. They charged me too much to do the work. I hate to say it, but the end job will look good when he is done with it, but it is the way they got to the end job that will cause me not to use them again.
Description of Work: We used Ultimate Concepts for resurfacing of my patio, steps and landing. They are still doing the work and have been for three weeks. They came out on September 27, to give us a bid and it took until October 8, for the concrete man to come out. Then they were supposed to give me a bid on the 11th, which they didn't. Finally, two guys came out on the 15th of October. I kept calling and calling them and never got a call back. They wanted to start on October 18, but we had out of town guests coming in, so they decided they would start on October 25. October 25, came and went, and I never got a phone call if they were coming or not. They said they couldn't start on the 25th because it looked like it was going to rain but never did here. So, on October 30, one of the guys came over and told us a song and dance about the color we picked out was the only color in the brochure that he had gotten from another store, that they couldn't mix in Ohio because of the chemicals in it. Then he went to another store and got another brochure from Behr products, so we picked a color from there. He then came back out that afternoon and started the project. He came back on October 31, and finally, the steps and landing that I have going down from the house were done by another guy from the same company, and he finished that up yesterday afternoon. He is supposed to come back and finish sealing my patio this afternoon.

It was a great experience from start to finish. The owner and project manager built our deck. They both were very professional and considerate of our schedule. The deck was done exactly as we asked and with every step they were checking to make sure it was what we wanted. We would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: we hired ultimate concepts to build a deck for us. It was built according to our design.
