The Theater People

On day of service the 2 technicians notified me that they could come 1 1/2 hours earlier than scheduled. This was the highlight of the experience. It went downhill from there. They produced a detailed 2-page contract (small print) for me to sign before work could begin. Rather than waste 15 minutes of valuable install time to read through it I went ahead & signed it. Then they informed me of the additional charges to create an outlet: $32.27. This was to be a standard install using my newly purchased TV bracket & sound bar. The sound bar install was an additional $50. Then the technicians informed me that they had to have 2 ten foot HMDI cables in order to run cables inside the wall. Since they were already here & I only could get 2 six foot HMDI cables, they offered to sell me the ones they carry on their truck. This was an additional charge of $50 each! Things appeared to be going smoothly until they hooked everything back up & couldn't get a signal from my satellite service. They spent an inordinate amount of time changing wires around trying to get a signal & mentioned that I might have to pay additional labor costs. They ultimately didn't charge extra for labor but they had to contact their supervisor & my satellite service to ask how to fix the signal problem. It turned out that there was no satellite signal problem; they had just hooked up the cables incorrectly. I never did get the "consultation" part of the package. Now I see a new Angie's List Big Deal from this same company for the same "deal" for $20 less than what I paid. I don't feel this is fair considering I just had the work done less than a week before the price change.

Though we ultimately decided to go with another provider the folks at the Theater People we professional, prompt, and very attentive. The owner had great ideas and prides himself on only using top-of-the-line equipment.

They have been professional and responsible. It's pretty good so far. Their communication, responsiveness, professionalism has been good so far. We are planning to use their services. Update 5-21 . The Installation Guys showed up on time and started the unpacking of the screen and Projector. I did not order any additional mounting hardware and the one that came with the screen wasn't adequate. The guys had some hardware and they installed the screen. Installing projector mount took some time since the mount that i ordered wasn't the easiest to deal with. These Guys (Jeff and Adam) got it work and mounted wired everything. By this time I was over the coupons 3 hours so I paid them extra to get the wires concealed in the wire molding glad i did . They corrected the throw and focus of the projector to fit perfectly on the screen.Cleaned up all the mess and filled the holes in the ceiling. Could not be more happier with the service. Would definitely use their services again.

Adam and Jeff are great guys. They arrived early, wore foot covers because it was raining, and quickly went to work. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. They put up the TV and connected all my devices. I could not be happier. I would hire then again!

They were very good. They emailed me right away, we arranged an appointment, and they called when they were on their way. They did a good job, and they cleaned up after themselves, I would use them again. It took a couple of weeks for them to come out, but that was upon me, because I was trying to get time off work. I did not pay anything more than the $99 of the big deal. They were very prompt, if they said they were here at 9, they were here at 9.

GREAT. Met John originally to look at this job and others. Was able to schedule quickly and efficiently. More importantly, I thought the install team was courteous, thorough and cleaned up as they went along. Thrilled with result and will use and recommend in the future.

So we used this service to have an older TV set up w/ Direct TV, DVD, & a Wii. Jeff and Adam we prompt, courteous and advised us what would be needed to add additional cable outlets in upstairs bedrooms. We will definitely call them back when we decide to do the additional work.

Went very well. There was a mistake made by some of the employees but the owner promptly fixed it for free. Great customer service. Would definitely use again.

I bought their Big Deal; it went well. They did charge $20 or $30 more than the Deal amount because I had asked for additional services while they were here and they were happy to give me an estimate for that and take care of it while they were around.

The fees were way out of line for running wires so I did not go through with it.

They were fine. Two guys had come out.

They arrived at stated time and immediately started to work. All equipment was connected and any questions answered.

It went well. I personally drilled the hole through the floor to the basement cable connector thereby saving money; and assisted with the drilling of the hole through the wall. I wanted to do this and was able to work quite well with the Theater People team. The completed the job as described above. I saved at least $ 200 over another estimate.

They called 15 minutes before they arrived just as I asked. They were very nice, polite and good st their craft. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs this type of service!!

Hung to flat screen TV's and assembled my entertainment system.

They did a great job. They were very personable. The owner did the consultation and he was very knowledgeable and he explained everything to me. They were very flexible with scheduling. They did have to leave my home to go to another job. The person that came in to do the painting and the drywall work did an amazing job.

Two young men, one tall one small, showed up and went to work. The smaller one had no trouble spending 45-60 minutes cramped behind the set making the correct connections while the tall one distributed the six speakers even hiding the wires under the carpet baseboard junction. They showed me how to use and get the best out of my new home theater and it sounds great. They knew exactly what they were doing...even helped me connect some outdoor speakers to an old stereo I had.

Very good service. Jeff and Adam were on time and professional. They showed me how to use everything after they had it connected properly.

It went fine, they were very careful about dust when drilling. I was very pleased wirh the wok looks outstanding, wires hidden, centered on wall and level. I could not be more pleased.

WONDERFUL! This is the second time we've used The Theater People. In October of 2013 they helped us after lightning struck and blew out the HDMI cable. The cabling was in the wall and attached to the studs (very common in new home construction) so there was no way to thread in a new cable and pull out the old. The wall had to be opened and our drywall suddenly had a slice in it of about 10 inches high and 5 feet long. They had to bore holes in the studs to thread new cables and then repair the wall. There is absolutely no evidence the wall was ever touched! Looks brand new as the day we moved in after it was built. This visit had to do with installing a smart TV and mounting it on the wall above the fireplace. But also the element of helping us through the setup, connection to the WiFi, learning how to navigate it, they even called Time Warner to get the cable remote to sync and work with the new TV. Each time the crew is warm and friendly; knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge. They are completely professional and no a spec of dust was left after either job. They care about customer service and show it. Truly a top-of-the-class business. Will turn to them whenever help is needed in this area. Thanks Theater People!!

They called to let me know they we running behind(due to bad weather traffic). That was understandable. When they arrived they were careful to not drag snow into the house. They set about working and were very informative as to what they were doing. They made sure I knew how to work everything before they left. They cleaned up thoroughly and were courteous and professional through the entire process.

Things went great. They called me to schedule my initial appointment shortly after I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal. The two guys that came out (Adam and Jeff) were very courteous. They were punctual and did a nice job of analysis the problems I was having and providing a couple of different options to fix my problems. The owner followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied and to fully explain the two options I had been offered. Jeff and Adam returned on the date scheduled and again were prompt and courteous. They performed their tasks quickly and cleaned up after themselves. They spent all the time I wanted to train me on the new devices. A few days later I was having an issue with one of the new devices and they came on a Friday night at 5:30 pm and stayed until almost 7:00 pm to make sure I was satisfied. The owner followed up with me on every step to make sure I was happy. Great customer service.

They were very good. They did everything however, they told us that there wouldn't be any wires showing and there are...that is the only downside.
