They were awesome. Max helped design a much nicer deck. Craig and James were true craftsmen. This is second job they have done for me and I would hire them again.

We had a very good experience from start to finish. Max gave us all the information we needed. It took us some time to decide to move forward but we never felt pressured at all. Once we decided to move ahead the measurements were done very quickly and everything was ordered. It did take some time for windows to come in but Max prepared us for that and delays are consistent industry wide. We found the whole experience to be professional and the result is just what we hoped. The windows look fantastic and were expertly installed. You really do get what you pay for and this was no exception. We would highly recommend Sunspace to anyway looking for a new porch or to upgrade an existing one.

The so called quoted 6 day installation project turned into a 2 season nightmare that took over 8 weeks when they finally did begin work. Mistakes were made by the company that they would not take responsibility for and cost me several thousand more to correct. The job was completed the 1st week of November, and now that 4 months have past, the ship-lap that they installed on my wall is warping for incorrect installation procedures (only nailed on the ends instead of spacing across the whole board) and my husband is presently ret-wiring the ceiling fan that was installed incorrectly and evidently they never checked their work. We don’t want SunSpace back on our property and would strongly advise anyone from contracting with this company.

We signed our contract in April of 2017 after seeing Sunspace at a Home Remodeling Show downtown. Max came out to our house and gave us a quote that was $8000 more than the price we had seen at the show, but he explained it was because we'd need glass instead of plastic for it to be 3-season. We were satisfied with the explanation and signed the contract...BIG MISTAKE #1: We did not write an expected completion date. Therefore, when I called Max at the end of July to question the many excuses for delay, he was very rude and told me that I didn't have any other options than to work with him when I asked for a refund of our down payment. IN fairness, Max called me the following day with a profuse apology and he took responsibility for being rude and unprofessional. BIG MISTAKE #2: We accepted the apology and continued working with Sunspace. Work on our sun room began in October of 2017. The room failed Westerville inspection multiple times due to things like: 1)not enough screws holding the walls together and to the house; 2) the wrong type of windows for safety in 2 of the windows and the door; 3) the support post for the roof and the header for the support post were insufficient to hold the weight. They failed to pass a few of the inspections because they failed to comply with the inspector's instructions regarding the number of screws holding the walls together and a delay in exchanging the windows. It took 10 1/2 months from contract signatures to getting the inspection passed for the room. But when my husband tried to lay the floor, he realized the sub-floor put in by Sunspace wasn't level at a seam; in fact, it was about 1/4 inch higher than the rest of the floor. Thankfully, my husband knows his way around building and planed this area so that we didn't have to call Sunspace EVER AGAIN! I want to add that the crews were very nice and seemed knowledgeable; Lisa in the office was communicative and very pleasant. If you hire Sunspace regardless of the reviews posted here on Angie's List, protect yourself by adding a completion date to your contract. Do not sign the contract as is like we did. And Good Luck!

I will preface this by saying that I waited 6 months to write this review because I wanted to give a fair opinion. I love the windows themselves as they have greatly increased the amount of time we spend on the porch. I did, however, have issues with the installation and follow-up when the issues were discovered. The installation took place on a cold day so I do understand that the installers were trying to quickly get the job done. However, they failed to caulk around the top transom windows so once the weather warmed up, the multiple flies and other bugs found their way in. It took over a month and several follow-up emails before this was resolved. Also, the windows are so tight that I can only open the windows half way. My request for instructions on how to adjust the windows was acknowledged but instructions were never received. Because of this, I would give the windows an excellent but the company and their customer service a fair.

Summary: excellent service, products, and installation.  My wife and I are extremely pleased with the conversion of our screen porch to the Sunspace three season porch.

Details: My wife and I have greatly enjoyed our screen porch for sixteen years, but we always longed for an upgrade.  Then I started noticing several areas where the wood would not hold paint.  This was the year I was planning to have the house re-painted, so we started researching options in earnest earlier this year to get the screen porch fixed ahead of the painting.  We found Sunspace while attending area home and remodeling shows.  We found that Sunspace offered services to both address maintenance issues and do the full conversion to a three season room.  I had reservations at first about the plastic material that would serve as windows, but was swayed by extensive on-line research, the light weight nature of the windows vs glass, and the relative low cost of the conversion (I have a nearby neighbor spending more than three times as much for a more extensive conversion with glass windows).

The in-house sales visit went well.  I was given a fair price with good technical explanations of the product and services by Mike Pillar.  I felt no pressure when I felt I needed to spend a few more days quoting other options and do more on-line research.

Spring is a busy time for remodelers, but I only had to wait about four weeks before work began.  The construction crew led by Donnie was top-notch.  Excellent carpenters that fixed all the problem spots in the existing screen porch and put it back together much better than it was.  The result looks like it has always been there as part of the house.  Sunspace worked with me on scheduling so that I could prime and paint all the new wood before the windows were installed (I wanted every spot of wood exposed and covered to have heavy coats of good paint to prevent rot issues like I had with the existing porch).

We've had the porch now for three months, cold and hot days, and really love the result.  We can keep windows down to keep out dust and open for breezes.  We do have some ongoing maintenance - applying a cleaner/protectant to the plastic windows.  Took us a little less than two hours to remove, clean, and replace - not bad given we have 50 individual windows.  One thing that might bother some people is that the plastic material can flex slightly with breezes causing some slight distortion in visibility.  This has not bothered my wife and I at all.  We really like that the windows are tinted, and that they are so easy to raise and lower.  It can get hot in the room with windows down, so a ceiling fan really helps clear things out.

Bottom line - we are very glad we had this work done, and Sunspace did a great job.  Would definitely recommend them and would use them again.

From the beginning it was a class professional job. The one B I gave was to let people know that if they contract one of these systems in the spring to be ready for some slight delays for weather, other jobs running over, etc. Recognize that they are a small company and things do happen. The result is beautiful and worth any wait for the process to run its course. They were all great but I want to note three people that make the place hum. Donny the head installer is a craftsman. He does extremely professional work. He doesn't rush and is meticulous. His crew follows his lead and are great. Lisa is the office person who you always get on the phone and who calls you each step of the way. I never knew her to have a bad day (at least I couldn't tell if she did) was on top of things and got back to me promptly when I had a question she didn't already know the answer for. And the earlier person who said Max was difficult to work with either had the name wrong or must have been very unreasonable. We had some issues and he handled every one of them in a professional and fair manner. We have had a number of people tell us that it looks like it was there when we built the house.

The house I?ve owned for 8 years includes an 18x11 1980?s sunroom porch. I wasn?t familiar with the style?it seemed like a ?kit? ? you know, made of some sort of metal. The roof had started leaking and I had no idea who to call for help.
I saw Sunspace?s model room at a festival in late June and asked them if they could replace my porch?s roof. Max, the owner, came out that week with catalogs and samples. After listening to the background, he told me what his company could do AND he gave me some helpful tips on other improvements that could put my mind at ease. I appreciated that he wasn?t just focused on making his sale, he was genuine in trying to help me out. He also didn?t push any additional sales ? for example, he said my walls and windows looked fine, he gave me tips to keep them in good condition, and he let me know how much their replacement would cost when I was ready.
When I told him that I was afraid the leaking roof was causing damage to the main house he called his team and arranged to have them come over THAT DAY to tarp the entire area until the new roof was manufactured and ready to be installed (8 weeks).
On install day the team removed my waterlogged sunroom roof and flashing to find that years of leaking had rotted the ends of most of the house rafters that they needed to bolt into. The old flashing extended up several rows of shingles on my house, and after removing that, they pointed out that where the roof plywood met the fascia didn?t look so hot either. This unexpected situation wasn?t good news for either of us. Max came out within the hour to guide us all forward. He discussed the situation openly with his team and me, located my brand and color shingles in town, and promised to use any materials he could from his warehouse free of charge. We agreed on a price (for the additional labor and materials that needed to be bought) that seems fair to me.
The team executed the structural improvements slowly, but I don?t think it?s their usual work and I appreciate that they wanted to do it right ? in fact they even worked a few hours on the weekend (absorbed in the agreed cost). They had to cut away the old materials to make clean repair lines, sister new 2x6s (4 feet) to all my existing rafters, cut fresh plywood over which they installed ice guard, flashing, and new shingles.
My primary suggestion would be no on-site smoking, but judging by the volume I?m not sure the guys could survive it! I consider it a small price to pay for a nice-looking roof and peace of mind. Plus, the guys were courteous and didn?t seem bothered by my regular visits and questions. They never asked me for anything and they let me know when they were leaving and coming back.
I should also mention that Lisa in the office is very communicative, responsive, and pleasant. She contacted me to discuss each milestone ? deposit charge, roof arrival, roof install, and remainder charge.
Overall, the Sunspace team helped me through yet another stressful repair on my 100 year old fixer-upper home and I would highly recommend them to friends and family.
