Pitzer Landscaping

Everything went extremely well. We used them last year as well, and the wood was not 100% good, and the owner contacted us several times during the year to apologize and make sure that, if we reordered again this year, it would be better. The owner saw my report here and called within a day or so of the report last year, and offered a discount on this years purchase The wood this year is great. Last year it was good, but this year it's even better.

I want to give Mr. Pitzer an A+ sooo bad, but I just can't. This List is about helping your fellow consumers know the truth about vendors - every bit of the truth, good and not so good. He spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me, and was very up front explaining what his cord consists of - two 4x8 foot racks, regardless of length of cut. I thought a cord was 128 cubic feet, but I agreed to the amount he said he'd bring and for the amount he was charging. He said he had to do a special cut to make the wood between 14" and 15" and it cost a little more because of that. He said the wood was excellent quality and that's what you were paying extra for with his company. He brought exactly what he said he would and he brought it on time on the day he said he would. He called me about a half an hour before the delivery time to make sure I was ready. He also called about an hour afterward to make sure I was satisfied. It looked great, but unfortunately I had no time to burn it. Norman is as nice and accommodating as the day is long. In the past, I've received wetter wood than what Mr. Pitzer sold me. I've also received drier wood that what Mr. Pitzer sold me. I'd say based on my limited experience (only 5 vendors in Cols), Pitzer's wood was middle of the road to maybe a little better than average. Two weeks later, I'm still having a bit of a hard time keeping some of it burning. I have to open up the vent real wide sometimes to keep the fire going and/or throw in some Fatwood to the fire from burning out, especially in the beginning... when it's a little wet - hissing, frying sounds. That's the honest truth. I actually called Norman and told him about this and he immediately brought over another 60 or 70 pieces of wood to compensate for the problems - at NO CHARGE. The guy is awesome and I think the wood had probably just been rained on a lot before its delivery to me. Hopefully it dries out a little more now that it's under my porch's roof. I'll probably still keep my options open. Last year I got a delivery of some Ash wood from two dudes that had their own business and it all burned so perfectly. For $275 I got a full 128 cubic feet of wood (cut to 14" length) delivered and stacked - that's almost four full 4x8' racks. However, I called those guys this year and they went out of business because they weren't making enough money. So maybe my expectations are just too high now? Norman is a straight shooter and he'll take care of you to the best of his ability. I have no doubt about that.

Great service. My only issue was the wood seemed just a bit on the wet side. It burns well enough only you can hear it hissing due to the wet wood.

I ordered a full cord of firewood and it was delivered promptly the next day. It was dumped where I asked. The wood looked good, though some pieces are a little large for my firebox. The wood is very good and burns well. The load of wood appears to be at least a cord. Mr. Pitzer followed up with a call the same day as delivery and a few days later to make sure that I was satisfied. The customer service is excellent. I believe that if I was dissatisfied in any way, he would make it right. I would recommend ordering wood from this company.

Two gentlemen rang the doorbell. They emptied their truck into the driveway. Then they wheeled the wood to the back one load at a time until all of it was stacked. There was a follow-up call after they left to insure everything was ok. I was informed that if I left a report on Angie's List there would be discount on my next order. That is a nice offer for Angie's List members.

Spectacular. I called the company and in a short while they called me back. We scheduled for the next day and they arrived within the time frame specified. They dumped the wood in the drive, I paid them, and they departed. They were congenial folk.

Norman is a great guy to do business with. He returned my initial call the same night. He called me the night before the drop-off to confirm that he'd be coming the next day. He delivered the wood exactly as scheduled. He called me a few days later to make sure the wood was satisfactory. The firewood is excellent. Wood from Pitzer is well seasoned so it burns really well. I'm sitting by a great fire as I type this! I strongly recommend Pitzer Landscaping and Firewood.

Since our stove is not very big, next time I'll ask for all shorter logs. I can;t ell for sure whether it was a full cord but the wood appeared to be seasoned as promised

I found this vendor on the list, and I decided to call. I left a message, thinking I would hear back in a few days. Instead, I heard back within an hour. I was told that being in Grove City may be a problem, as they did not deliver that far. She said she would check and call back. I thought I would need to find someone else. In about 2 hours, I received a call stating they would deliver the firewood, when did I want it. This was on November 18. I asked about Saturday the 20th. She said Staurdays were usually their busiest, but she would place me there, and on the 23rd as a back up. I was so suprised to hear from them on Friday the 12th, saying they had an opening on the 13th if I was interested. I said yes, if they could come after 12 noon. On Saturday, I received a call on my cell at 10 saying they could be there anytime. I agreed to 11:30, and right at 11:30, the wood was delivered. It was the nicest wood I have ever reeceived. I was dry, clean, no mold anywhere. I was throughly pleased. I burned some on Sunday, and was so please with how it burned and how well it lit.

I am a repeat customer and I have always been satisfied with this company. Norman does not rest until he knows you are happy with their work. They do things right and don't leave until the job is done. They are very responsive and their pricing is fair.

I called Norman Pitzer on Tuesday to request firewood delivery and they had an opening for that week on Friday.On Wednesday, he called to say they had an opening that afternoon - they arrived a few minutes prior to the time and were quick to get the wood out and stacked into the shed. The two delivery people were polite, professional and handled the delivery well. The only thing that I was a little surprised by was the price - I did fail to ask the cost when I called but expected it to be similar to last year and it was significantly more ($220 versus $175 last year). I would still highly recommend Pitzer Landscaping for the quality and professionalism.

Got immediate service with a cord of well seasoned wood delivered and dumped exactly where I requested.

Three gentlemen arrived early in the morning. They carried the wood to the back yard and stacked it. They took the time to organize the wood as they stacked it, putting the older wood in front so it would be used first. They cleaned up the mess in the driveway. The wood they brought is beautiful! We have only had one fire so far, but it burned beautifully; the wood is obviously well-seasoned. We will definitely use them again!

I called Friday to order the wood, and it was delivered the next day, stacked perfectly in my log rack and on my back porch. When I expressed concern that perhaps my log rack was a bit short of a half cord, Norman left some extra pieces for me on the back porch. The wood is nicely split and manageable. Great service!

The entire transaction, from initial phone call to delivery of wood, was great! Delivery was fast and the wood looks to be high quality. We can't wait to have our first fire of the season! We would not hesitate to refer our friends and family.

called earlier in the week for firewood delivery - they were able to accommodate delivery that same week- on time and with very good quality wood! Will use them again next year for winter firewood!

I contacted Pitzer the evening of 10/21 and my call was returned the same evening. I ordered a half cord of firewood and Norm was able to deliver the following day. During my conversation with Norm I had asked the firewood be dumped on the left side of the driveway facing the house and not in the grass. When the delivery was made my son's grandmother was here to pick him up and she was parked on that side of the driveway she arrived about 10 seconds before the deliverymen. The driver asked where he should dump the wood and she said she would call me to confirm the location. Before she could contact me or move her car, one of the delivery men ran up to the porch, held up the check and at that point the driver dumped the wood in the grass on the right side of the drive and then they both drove off. Norm had indicated that they would leave a business card and someone would follow up regarding the service I recieved. It has been almost a week and no call and no card was left. Even though I checked I would use their services again, as there was not an option for maybe, I will see how well the wood burns before I make my decision as the wood does not appear as seasoned as I would have hoped. I understand that they are busy at this time of the year but if you say you are going to do something then do it otherwise, there is no need to mention it. Not an unhappy cutomer but merely annoyed!

I call Pitzer. They called back within 24 hours. Quoted price was very good. Ordered wood and was delivered wiith in a couple of days. The wood is very clean and seasoned.

After a lot of research on Angie's List, I decided to go with Pitzer Landscaping and Firewood. I called on a Sunday afternoon and left a message asking about an estimate for firewood. Norm returned my call that evening! He said that he would be able to deliver the wood on that Wednesday. Silly me, I forgot to ask him the size of the wood because I have a smaller fireplace. I remembered this on Tuesday and gave him a call. I left a message and Norm called me back. I explained my situation and asked if he could have the logs be 19" or less. He was very accommodating and said it would be no problem what so ever. He said that they would be there to deliver the wood on Wednesday morning. I let him know where I wanted it. I came home from work and sure enough, the wood was exactly where I wanted it stacked. It was stacked very neatly. I was surprised of the quality of wood. Its the best that I have seen here in Columbus area. It is seasoned wood and they were all the exact size that I requested. I am looking forward to burning the wood this winter with my wife and family. Norm is awesome. The customer service he provides is outstanding. Its hard to find people that are hard workers, listen to what you would like, and actually do what they say they will do. Norm is exactly this and more. He even called back on that Thursday to make sure the wood was of my liking and asked if everything was good. He said to call if I had any problems with the wood. I would definitely recommend Pitzer Landscaping and Firewood for your firewood. I will be ordering more wood from him when I run out. Thanks Norm!

I called Norman to check pricing of a cord of wood and if his company would stack the wood. His price was competitive and he does stack wood for an extra fee. The wood arrived early the next day. The wood is a nice quality. The crew was very pleasant and stacked the wood exactly where I asked and did a nice, neat job. Norman called the following day to make sure everything was satisfactory, and it was. He does a great job with customer service and follow-up and I would HIGHLY recommend using him for firewood. I will certainly call him next fall for more firewood.

It went well. Norm showed up when he said he would and was done unloading in 15 minutes.

I found Norman Pitzer on Angie's List last year and bought a cord of firewood. I did a lot of research beforehand, and he offered the best pricing and had the best reviews. I was very pleased with the product and the service, so I bought another cord this year. Norman not only provides an excellent quality of firewood, but is also extremely interested in making sure that his customers are completely satisfied (including a follow up phone call this morning). I will most certainly purchase from him in the future!
