They were a couple weeks out in delivery but they delivered as promised and the wood was worth the wait! Great quality firewood at a very reasonable price. It's well seasoned, burns great. Very happy with Pitzer and would definitely use them again. Everyone we dealt with was very professional and calls were returned promptly.

Too bad there is not an A++++ rating! My call was returned promptly; Norman said he could have the wood delivered the same day (note it is January so the landscape side of the business is not as busy); he gave me the approximate time, called me to let me know that they were on their way, and followed up to make sure everything was okay. The firewood is well seasoned and burns great! The delivery men were efficient and polite. Norman should give seminars on customer service -- this was an incredibly good interaction --- A++++

Everything was fine - Mr. Pitzer accommodated our schedule (as we had to delay delivery). He called right back after our request and called to set up delivery. He also called after delivery to make sure all was to our liking. The only thing was the price seemed a bit high.

From the minute I spoke with Norman on the phone he was incredibly sweet and helpful. I had to not only change the date of delivery but also change from a cord to a half a cord. There was no problem whatsoever. I was asked about a new date and time and delivery was prompt. The wood was stacked perfectly in three different areas by Norman Jr. who was very sweet and competent. I've not had such exceptional customer service in decades. It may seem like a small thing but it meant the world to me as my family has had a rough year and I was ordering alone for the first time. Norman explained to me as best one can, how much a half a cord is and always responded to any calls regarding date change or time preference within a couple of hours. Nothing it seemed was ever a problem. I couldn't be happier with their service and intend to use them permanently.

I would certainly use them again! As a matter of fact, I just called to order more wood!

Overall excellent service. Not only were they accurate with their time estimates, but did a very professional job delivering/stacking the wood on the back of the property. Throughout all of it they were very courteous. We will use them again in the future!

They were quick to return my call. The workers are very nice and polite and did a good job, neatly and securely stacking my wood. I got a follow-up call from Mr. Pitzer to make sure I was satisfied. The wood quality seems to be be very good - seasoned and hard - and is burning well.

Norman responded to my message quickly, and came out to give us a quote within a day or two. We felt the price was fair and are pleased with the work. The process was simple - his guys were efficient and cleaned up the site well upon finishing. Norman was certain to call the next day to be sure we were happy with the job, which I really appreciated. We have started another project with him already, are going to use him for firewood this winter, and are talking about what we will be doing in the spring. It has been a good experience working with Norman.

Norman is very, very professional. Have you ever had a courtesy follow up call after a guy dumps a load of firewood in your yard? That's the kind of business Norman runs. The wood is aged nicely and you can request your choice of two sizes of logs. I think the 195 price tag is a little high for a cord of wood, but honestly, the quality of the wood is so high and the professionalism of his team is such that I'm happy to pay it. Will continue to hire them through the winter months, without a doubt.

The crew was on time, worked as hard as possible in the amount of heat we had going on, and did a first rate job on all of our trimming and landscaping. I would never use anyone but Norm

My yard was a neglected for 20 years. The house was remodeled and the yard was a construction dump site full of weeds and crab grass. Norman killed off the weeds and crab grass, which took more than he anticipated. The yard preparation required a dump truck to haul out the buried construction debris. The yard prep and hydo seed was done when promised. Norman also came out and showed me how and when to water. He also told me how and when to fertilize. The yard came in great. An excellent job. My next door neighbor, also a construction site, put in sod. My yard looks better.

We have been using Pitzer Landscaping for the last three years and again this year, he and his crew have done an amazing job. They came out for our annual spring clean up and cut down trees, edged, built out a new playground area for our kids, and mulched everything and the yard looks beautiful. The crew is always very neat and professional and Norman always has a keen eye for any issues with our plants or grading of our yard that may cause other issues we may not notice. He and the team helped seed and fill in some bare spots in the yard, and also did many more other items that we may have missed had we not had them. We use Norman every year and would recommend he and his crew to anyone-they do fantastic work, are always on time, and deliver exactly what we are looking for-a hassle free experience with a beautiful yard to show. We have used Pitzer Landscaping for the past three years on our firewood, always getting great service and quality wood. This year, we decided we needed to fix out front yard. We had a water main break last year and they had to dig up part of the front yard, as well as we did not have great quality grass or the right landscaping for our house. So, on a wood delivery, I asked Norman to walk out front and give me his thoughts on how he would re-landscape and what the costs would be. We talked through various ideas and needs and settled on the key things we needed/wanted and the budget we had to spend on the project. Norman and his team came down within a couple of days of me calling with the go-ahead for the project and started cleaning up the yard and getting the existing stuff out. They were professional, timely and cleaned up their work every day they were here. They finished the clean-up and side yard work and then got the front landscaped before the sod was ready. Once the sod came in, they brought it out to the house and got it laid (just in time for all this rain and gorgeous weather too!). Not only did Norman and his team do a fantastic job for us, he has checked in on us a few times, making sure that everything is still good and to answer any questions we might have. He also prepared us well for maintaining/caring for the sod to ensure its quality is not impacted and gave us great details on the type of fertilizer and other tools we will need to maintain the lawn throughout the summer to ensure we have great grass for years to come. I appreciated the commitment Norman had to completing the project, but honestly, it is his ongoing customer service and attention to detail that makes me a loyal customer of Pitzer Landscaping.

Bought a half a cord of firewood from Pitzer with stacking last month. I waited to report so I could see how the wood burned. I have three pet peeves regarding landscapers, but Pitzer scored "A"s regarding all three. First, rather than having customers "leave a message" and pray that someone eventually returns the call, Pitzer has someone working the phones and scheduling. She picked up in the first couple of rings and scheduled the delivery for a couple of days out. Second, they showed up early in the morning on the day they said they would show up. Third, they didn't try to "short stack" me and the wood was high quality.Regarding some comments that their wood was "too wet to burn", you have to realize that these companies deliver A LOT of firewood during the winter. The most important thing is that the wood is good quality, that it's cut several months before use, and that they don't try to short stack you. We live in an old stone house that is almost 4,000 sq. ft. and has a fireplace on each floor. We've used them daily and actually only ordered a partial fill on our propane this Winter (never even had to turn on our furnace until January). In short, we're fairly experienced at burning firewood. The wood we received from Pitzer was well seasoned and dry. As with any firewood, I wouldn't recommend taking it straight from the delivery guy's hands and throwing it on the fireplace. Order it before you run out so that it can sit on the porch or in another dry open place, and air dry for a few days before it's moved indoors. Inside, keep a decent sized wood rack by your fireplace and keep it well stocked so that the dry heat from the fireplace actually helps dry out the wood in the rack while it's waiting to be used. Also, good quality firewood doesn't catch fire and burn up quickly. Rather, good quality firewood can be tricky to start, but once it's burning, it burns slowly and produces a decent amount of heat. Both of my experiences with Pitzer, this year and last year, have been good and I doubt you'll go wrong with choosing them.

Wonderful. This is our 2nd order of firewood from the company. Service was excellent from the initial contact to delivery. The wood is just the right size and burns great. We have been in our home for 30 years and this is the best wood we have purchased.

Norman has been our go-to person for wood over the last couple of years - he does a great job, as does his team, in being responsive and professional. The wood is always to our standards, cut to the size we need, stacked neatly in our shed (a little extra cost but worth it) and they are always on time for their appointments. I have referred several people here and whenever anyone is at our house asking about where we get our wood, I am ready with the phone number and a great review. Norman always calls to check in on the delivery a few days after, ensuring that we are happy with the wood and that we have what we need. He will also check in with his regular customers to see if they need restocked, especially if he starts to run low on wood. I cannot say enough good things about working with this company.

Norman provided a timely quote and did the job very quickly. We had a couple of issues with the trees needing to be moved, invisible fence getting cut and the grass seedlings burning out due to some unusually warm weather around Labor Day. Norman fixed everything with little hassle and re-seeded the lawn a second time. The weather cooperated and it came in perfectly. I would definitely recommend Norman for any lawn work in the future. Great experience.

I ordered one cord of firewood from Norm at Pitzer's. When I called to ordered it. I had to leave a message, which he returned within a few minutes. We agreed upon a date and time. He delivered the wood at the agreed upon time. After he had dumped the wood I thought it looked a little light. I then showed him my firewood rack that I had built that was 4x4x8. He assured me that the pile of wood he had brought would fill rack, which is exactly one cord defined by the State (http://ourohio.org/home-gardens/keeping-safe/home-and-garden/tips-for-purchasing-firewood/). A few days later I stacked it and ended up being 1/3 short of a cord. I called Norm and told him. That day he dropped off more wood when I was not home. After stacking it I was still short, I called again. The next day he brought more wood out to the house finally totaling a cord. In the end I think we were both frustrated with each other and agreed to disagree on how much wood I was suppose to get. Norm is a stand up man that cares about his business and knows the value of returning customers. Now that we are on the same page, I will be one of the his returning customers. I have had a chance to have several fires and his wood is well seasoned and burns well.

It was a pleasure dealing with Pitzer Landscape and Firewood. My phone call was promptly returned, and a price quoted for a delivered cord of firewood. A date was provided for delivery (a Saturday) and I was told I would be called on Friday with a delivery window. I was called and told to expect delivery between 8:30 and 9 am, and it in fact was. I am writing this review by a great fire in the fireplace. The hardwood is well seasoned and nicely split. There are very few oversize or misshapen logs. I would certainly use Pitzer in the future.
