A-1 Quality Seamless Gutters

I had a continuing problem with water overflowing from the gutters in the front of the house, into the garden (and apparently, before I moved here, into the pantry). The gutters were small and had two tight turns before the straightaway to the downspout. They never managed to keep up with even the slightest rain, and water poured over them, causing erosion in the garden bed underneath. In the back, I had a problem with water/snow standing in the gutter and freezing, which of course, led to ice dams when we had enough snow. The owner, John, came out and looked over both problems. He said that the gutters in the area in the front were too small to handle the water flow, with the angles. He recommended replacing them with 6" gutters and some sort of flash guard to keep the water moving and from overflowing. In the back, he said that the gutter needed to be angled somewhat because the water was not flowing into the downspout. In addition, he recommended the same 6" gutter and splash thingie there. The price for both was unbelieveably affordable and we went ahead. On the morning of the appt, his workers arrived promptly, told me what they were going to do and got to work. The job took over two hours, requiring cutting to fit and sizing. The entire time in the front, they were working in my planting bed. I commented when they were finished that they didn't step on one flower. One of the guys said they weren't allowed to. Now that is attention to detail. They cleaned up after themselves and showed me the finished product. And you know what? I got a THANK YOU card from the company. Who does that? GREAT JOB.

They were awesome. If I knew that everybody I called for an estimate would be like them, it would make life a lot easier. They were professional and punctual. They worked with me. I forgot to tell them I was an Angie's List member, and they still gave me the 10% discount. It was a great experience. We weren't there when they did the work, but the work was of high quality. We didn't have any issues with them.

We had used this company in the past and were pleased with their services. I contacted them twice for an estimate for miscellaneous gutter repairs and did not receive a response. Very disappointed.

See above. I know it's not part of the gutter installation process, but in a couple of small areas the new gutter/downspout configuration made it necessary to touch up the paint on the wood trim. Since these areas are up on the second floor and we don't have an extension ladder we will be hiring a painter to do the touch up. I would gladly have paid A-1 extra to have touched up the areas while the gutters were being installed (we had extra paint as the house was repainted last year). The installer who walked us around the job site was very helpful and pointed out all of the areas needing touched up so we knew about them...it just created another project that we weren't anticipating. All that said, I would happily hire A-1 again without hesitation.

We called to get a quote from then and had one within 4 business days. The company is friendly, helpful and professional. They were able to schedule the work one week later. Work was completed on one day while we were at work - we came home to the completed job. I didn't do extensive research to find out if an other company would have been cheaper, but I really like working with this company. They are fast and very efficient. We had used them before for minor gutter repair and this was our first big job. We will definitely use them again. They use email to send invoices and bill. They have good office communication - the administrator talks to the boss about each job and has lots of knowledge about our house. Overall, just very happy with these guys, but I'm also glad we spent the money for a low-maintenance gutter system since before we were unable to clean the gutters on our top floor regularly.

They contacted me quickly and were very professional. Work and estimate was done without me having to be there - that's a plus for me. Work was completed when they said it would be. I can't really speak to quality because I can't really see much of the work they did. What I can observe, looks very good. Very pleased with the timeliness, professionalism and overall service. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to my friends. Well done.

A1 Quality Seamless Gutters did an A1 job from start to finish. All of the people we dealt with were very professional. They answered our questions and explained their service. On the day of the installation they came when they said they would and cleaned up when they left. We are very pleased with this company.

John met me at the house for the quote and talked me through my options. They quickly provided a quote then completed the work as soon as possible given the weather. The gutters look very nice and I no longer dread when it's going to rain.

I contacted A-1 though their website for an estimate. They provided the estimate within 2 days, sending the completed estimate to my e-mail. When we contacted them to ask how soon they could install the gutters, they were very professional and helpful. A-1 replaced the gutters the next day and everything has worked great so far. The gutters look great and the process was very carefree.

This year I called to schedule service. I had to call back three times and email twice, to get a return quote on the service. The estimate was returned to me a week and a half later, with a $110 increase since last year. When I questioned this, I was told "on or about 8-7-07, we installed new gutters on part of your house, then on 10-29-07 you requested a cleaning of which was completed for $125.00. The reason this cost was so low is because we knew we only had to clean the new gutters, no other service was needed, and basically the charge was for the original gutters. On 11-24-10 I submitted a proposal for $235.00, which would include our service on the complete gutter system. The normal price would range between $325.00 & $350.00. I would assume I would have 3 men with travel 3 hours or 9 man house plus cost. Hopefully, this explains the cost diffference and I am sorry I can't price it any lower." With that, they lost the job and I called another service provider. The same service that I have had every year since '07 was provided at a cost of $86.00!

Great! This company's name says it all. They are A-1. We found the entire experience to be outstanding from the original estimate to receiving a credit check for work not completed (back of shed did not need gutters which was originally quoted in estimate). Very nice people from the front office to the installation crew. They did a very good job. We would highly recommend them.

We agreed and signed a contract that they would do the work. They were to call with a date that the work would start. I left specific instructions with the office as to how the down spouts on the garage were to be positioned and wrote the instructions on the contract that was faxed to them. A few days later I received a call from the installer stating the job was finished. No one called to give me the start date. They also installed the down spouts on the garage in the wrong place. The installer did come back the next day and correct the error. Their invoice states they accept credit cards. When I wanted to use my credit card to pay the bill they told me there was a $3 processing fee. When I complained and stated that was not on the invoice they removed the $3 charge.

Company did not show up for scheduled estimates 3 times, then showed up unannounced a week later. Promptly received estimate and scheduled an appointment to have work done. Someone needed to be home to allow access to rear of house. Four more appointments resulted in no-shows and then again the company showed up unannounced to preform the work. Did a great job once they finally made it. If you work nights like I do and don't mind loosing a days worth of sleep just because this company shows up whenever they feel like it, I would recommend their craftsmanship.

Owner John Luft came out and gave me an estimate. I knew, in addition to new gutters, I had some bad fascia wood that needed to be replaced and John indicated his company could take care of it if necessary. (Other companies that provided estimates had indicated either they would not or could not handle that kind of work; I didn't want two different companies on the same job.) A-1's crew came out and completed the job quickly and cleanly. When they finished, however, I decided to check on the gutter work up close and found several issues that needed to be taken care of. I called A-1, explained there was still work I felt needed to be done, and it would require someone with a ladder to do the work.. Early the next morning, two crew members showed up and I explained/showed them what I thought needed to be finished or changed. They got out their ladders and quickly did what I wanted done.

The work was done very well. They came and did the work in the winter which was impressive. They held up through all of the freezing weather. They are still pitched properly and I haven't had drainage issues since. I have had this problem for years and their recommendation of larger downspouts solved a lot of drainage issues, nobody had ever recommended that to me before. They were very easy to work with. They came out and looked at everything and then followed up with me by email and phone. This made communication incredibly easy as I travel for work.

Gutters were overflowing in heavy rain and there was a drip at one corner. I called three companies for estimates and received two. A-1 was not the lowest estimate but I was impressed by their punctuality in giving me the estimate and their follow-up to make sure I received it. When I e-mailed to confirm I wanted A-1 to do the work I received a prompt reply to choose a date. The technicians arrived on the day they were scheduled, they completed the work and cleaned up all the debris from the gutters. They were unable to caulk the corner that was dripping because it held water (due to a design flaw) and would not totally drain. Thye took extra time to explain to me what they had found, what they did, and the problem with the pitch of the gutter. Two days later the technicians came back to caulk the corner after it had dried out. A-1 did excellent work, and provided excellent customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend them and will use them again for this type of work.

We received our estimate quickly and were very pleased with the quoted price. It was actually lower than the 2 other estimates we received. The owner even dropped off color samples right away.The crew that came out did a great job. They did exactly what we had expected and more. The work was done quickly. They explained what would happen and answered all of our questions. They did a great job cleaning up when they were finished. I would certainly recommend them and would use them again myself in the future. This was one of the MANY jobs we have had completed that actually went better than expected.

Excellent. This company was very professional and gave a very reasonable price. I have previously hired them for a job at our church where they also were prompt, professional and the work was excellent. The job was scheduled and workers arrived as scheduled. Work was completed in a half a day and the job was completed.

Last September (2009) I had this company come out and clean my gutters and fix a drainage issue I had at the rear of the house. They quickly came out to estimate the cost and performed the work. This spring, I had complaints from the neighbor that the back gutters were again malfunctioning and making a mess in their yard. I called Sonya at A-One to see if they could come out and re-inspect their work and let me know what more should be done. Nearly four months later, they have yet to come out and take a look, despite repeated calls and emails from me. In early July, I got an e-mail from Sonya stating, "I am sorry, they haven't got out there yet, I will check on that & get back to you." I haven't yet heard anything confirming any particular date or time. I don't really expect them to do additional work for free, but they could at least come out and let me know what more needs to be done. Four months of apologies and no action are not acceptable.

They said they would come out to do the work and they didn't show up to the do the job. I called to see why and they wouldn't call me back. I ended up having another company do the work and the fact that they couldn't find the time to call me back was upsetting.

We had 2 gutters overflowing and washing away soil below. Based on the favorable reviews from Angies List we called A1 Seamless Gutters and they were easy to deal with from start to finish. While they told us they could do estimates without needing anyone to meet them at our home, I happened to meet the estimator who was polite and seemed experienced and knowledgable and he told me what he thought needed doing (installing a larger gutter and downpipe) plus general cleaning of the gutters. I wasn't home when the work was done but my wife told me that they were polite and cleaned up after themselves. A good experience overall.

After I called for the quote, they were out within 2 days to give an estimate. I did get a second opinion/quote from another company just to compare. This company was well priced and willing to do the work.

Started out well, but I had to call 3 times asking for the estimate that was promised in a couple of days. It was almost 3 weeks later before I finallt received the estimate, which was significantly higher than the other estimates I received.
