Response from Holland Paving
During the free estimate of the work, the owner stated that his driveway was under a written violation. We always want to be sure to satisfy the client and their needs. Our estimating staff met with the building inspector to verify that all work proposed would satisfy the violation on the driveway. There was no additional charge to the property owner for this service. The owner was very pleased with the extra steps taken and contracted for the drive to be serviced by Holland Paving. Constant contact was provided to the inspector and the property owner to ensure that all needs were being met. . Our records indicate that work was performed on 8/5/13 for the asphalt patches and that the crack fill and sealcoat was performed 8/16/13, at which time we notified the Building Department of the completions. The balance of the job was paid 9/5/13. We received a call after our season ended with a concern that the work had not been completed and we expressed our concern to not only look into the matter but to also make any corrections that may have been needed. We left several messages at the phone number on file, sent out 2 emails and mailed a letter to the PO Box on file in hopes of relaying the information that we had documented. We also contacted the city to verify that the violations had been satisfied and to be sure that his court obligations for the driveway were released from the court. A visual inspection was performed by our staff on 3/5/14 to also verify the work had been completed. We have still not been able to contact the property owner. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond the required services of contracting work for all our clients and maintaining an outstanding reputation with the building inspectors we work with.
