Eden Finishing

First of all, I want to clarify my "Price" rating. It was not cheap to refinish my furniture, which seems to be the norm in that industry. I had gotten estimates from a couple companies and they were all similar so my rating is not meant to be a negative comment against Eden. Just be aware that having furniture professionally refinished can be a little pricey, but I would do it again! I chose Eden because it was a great experience working with them - starting with my first phone conversation with Richard. He was polite, professional, and took the time to answer all my questions. Based on that conversation, I arranged for them to come out, look at the furniture, and give me an estimate. When Richard and William came out, I liked them right away. They seemed very knowledgeable, easy to work with (not at all pushy), and had a great sense of humor. It was a very pleasant experience! William looked over the furniture, explained what kind of wood it was and suggested a red mahogany finish (which concerned me because the original finish was very light and I didn't know how the darker finish would look in my home with my other furniture). He showed me various finishes but said this type of wood would be gorgeous in red mahogany. I was nervous about the red mahogany because it seemed so dark compared to the original finish. Even though William believed the red mahogany was the best choice for that type of wood, he never pressured me. We also looked at other wood finishes and finally I decided to go with the red mahogany - mainly because William seemed very knowledgeable about wood so I decided to trust his recommendation. They had the furniture about 4-5 weeks and when William called to say it was finished, I was a little nervous about the color. When they brought the dining room table into the house, it was definitely dark (compared to the original, light finish) but I loved it!! The deep, rich finish is truly gorgeous and it fits in well with my other furniture. There had been some mildew on the table, which they cleaned up. They sanded some scratches on the chairs and also cleaned up the brass feet on the table. I am so glad I decided to keep the furniture and have it refinished! And also glad I chose Eden. They are great to work with!

We chose Eden Finishing from the Angie's list reviews. It was a true pleasure dealing with this company. The finished bedroom set was beautifully done. The cedar chest was stunning - it was in poor condition when picked up and the transformation was amazing. Mr. Eden worked with us to coordinate pickup and storage so that the rest of our remodeling could proceed. We are very happy with the results. The estimate was right on. No additional charges or surprises. We would definitely choose this company again.

They took off several coats of an antique gate-leg table and made it a lighter brown instead of the black. They put on a satin finish and a beautiful job. They were nice people. We looked it over and it was perfect. I'd use them again. They picked it up and dropped it off without any extra cost.

Mr. Eden came to pick up the piece promptly on the day and time we had agreed upon. He gave me an estimate of the price for the work after he examined the chair. He took it back to his shop and called me a few days later to let me know that it was finished and we agreed on a day and time when he could drop it off. I was very happy with the job and Mr. Eden's professionalism. He's had many years of experience. I had him do similar work on a chair almost 20 years ago. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again if I need to have work or repairs done on wood furniture.

William and a younger man came out the day after my initial call to give me an estimate on refinishing and repairing broken leg on my dining room table. It is an older table, but didn't have sentimental value, so I wanted an estimate to determine whether it was worth it to have work done or to just buy a new table. I was happy with the $350 estimate, so they took the table and said they'd have it done around the 26th. William called early on the 25th that my table was ready, and delivered it the same afternoon. It was beautiful! I told him that I was sooo glad I had decided not to buy a new table, and that I was going to be smiling for the rest of the day. It is like a completely different piece of furniture. I will definitely call Eden Finishing the next time I have something I'm thinking about refinishing. The whole process was so simple, and William was very friendly but professional. The only caveat was that on the first trip they came in two vehicles, and parked one in my neighbor's driveway without telling me. Since my neighbor is in and out for his work during the day, this prevented him from getting into his drive, and he had to honk repeatedly to get the attention of the younger man who had parked there. On the return visit they parked on the street and only brought one vehicle.

Everything went as planned. When I called he came out promptly to evaluate the situation. At that time he said he would call and pick up the items in the next 2 weeks. In 2 weeks he called and promptly fixed the items. He was pleasant . I would use him again.

Called and spoke with someone on a Thursday describing the piece of furniture and asked to have them come by, give me an estimate and take the piece with them.I was told I woul get a phone call the next week to let me know when they would be by. By Friday of the next week I had not received a call, so I called them again. Was told on the phone they would be in my neighborhhod the next Tuesday. The person on the phone was very abrupt and and gave me the"bums rush".This is Wednesday and have yet to receive a call. I'm moving on to the next company hoping my experience will be more positive

Found Eden finishing on Angie's list.I saw the reviews called and talked the owner William Eden.We talked the issue with the couch and William came to my house looked at and said he would be able to repair it.I agreed with him and the price and he was able to take it that day.He said he would have it done in a week and he was right.In a week William called and said it was finished and delivered it to my house.I would use this company again.

William was so professional and worked with us on delivery and timing. He spent the time to answer our questions. I will definitely use this company again and recommend them as well!!!!!

Very well. We called them before Thanksgiving, and it appeared that they were very busy. It did take a bit for them to return the call, but they did. They came out to see our job, and left an estimate. They would be able to fit it in before we needed and honored that, picking things up on a Monday, making the repairs and returning the end of the week. They protected the furniture beautifully in pickup and delivery. The quality of the refinishing and repairs is excellent. They did a beautiful job in refinishing our table - it looks like new. The chair repairs were also terrific. They were excellent to work with and we would use them again.

I had a 35 year old rosewood hutch and buffet refinished which had sustained significant light/sun damage on one side. I had been looking at this damage for a half dozen years and finally moved on it. Scheduling a day and time for pick up was easy even though I live 30 miles away. They were prompt, professional and quick. Had expected that I wouldn't see the pieces for at least a month so imagine my surprise when I received a call 6 days that the job was complete and could be returned the next day. 7 days to the hour, start to finish! the set looks like new and perfectly compliments the table and chairs. An early Christmas gift!!

He gave me an estimate of time and cost as well as explaining what would be done. This is exactly what happened.

I called for an estimate to have the work done. The owner came out and gave me a price, which was the final amount plus the tax. It was a good price, so I told him to go ahead with the work. He took the chairs with him that day and said they should be ready by the end of the week. I told him I was not in a rush. He did deliver them the following Tuesday. (yesterday) I am very happy with the results and have given him an old cedar chest to refinish.

Robert was wonderful. He took my dining room table and made it look good again and gave me back chairs I am no longer afraid to let people sit on! He showed me that doing little touch ups as we go will mean I don't have to refinish for a long time yet. Thanks Robert

Both pieces look like new! The owner is very professional and accommodated my schedule for the pickup and delivery. The cost was very reasonable, you can't find furniture of this quality anymore.

The resulting restoration and refinishing were BEYOND my expectations. THis was my Gandmothers cabinet and it give us great joy to have it such beautiful shape and abale to use it for years to come.

Movers broke the solid wood foot of our nursery glider. I found Eden's information on Angie's List, and called. They came out to give me an estimate, and took the glider that same day. The work was done within two weeks (possibly sooner, but we were out of town), and the foot looks as good as new. I will definitely use Eden Finishing for other projects like this in the future.

I called Eden Finishing to request an appointment for someone to come out to my house to give me an estimate on some work to be done on a very large bed that is difficult to move. I was told that someone would be in my area the following week and would call me to set up a date/time to stop by. I never got a call. So, I called again about a week and half later, and I was told that the person who could provide such an estimate was not in the office at the time but would call me in the morning. I never got a call.

I am extremely pleased with the work done by Eden and A+ Furniture Upholstery. The buffet belonged to my grandmother and was in terrible shape when I received it from my sister. It had been nearly destroyed by 20+ years of abuse from kids, dogs, cats, and an aquarium leak. I was ready to put the buffet on the curb, but when Eden told me they could fix the damage and make it look like new, I decided to give them a chance. They came to my home, provided an estimate, and took the piece that day. While it did take a long time to get the piece back (about 3 months), I did not mind, as I was not in a hurry to get it and I also knew they would need to spend a long time working on it. In total, the buffet repair and refinishing cost about $650 (including tax). It actually does look like a brand new piece of furniture and will now be in my family for a long time. To buy a buffet of this quality would have cost significantly more than what I spent to have it redone. I wish I had a before picture to show just how badly it was damaged. And the after picture doesn't do their work justice. It's even more beautiful in person. As for the chair, I am equally pleased. Eden refinished the chair beautifully. In fact, it was a much darker finish when they got it, and they suggested using a lighter stain to let the beautiful oak wood grain show through. They also sent us to a fantastic tradesman (Alik of A+ Furniture Refinishing) to have the chair repaired and reupholstered. When Alik got the chair, he offered to let us come to his home to select fabric and show us how he would repair the chair (my husband was paranoid about how he would repair the chair, as the bottom had fallen out from a previous repair that was not done correctly). He suggested a great fabric that would look nice with the chair and be durable enough to withstand damage from our six cats. He also sent me pictures during the repair to keep me updated on his progress. I think it's worth noting that Alik does not reuse the old foam or hardware -- he completely guts the chair and replaces everything with new materials; others will just reuse foam and hardware to cut corners and save money. Alik personally delivered the finished chair to my home and to my surprise, also made a matching pillow to go with the chair. It cost $185 to refinish the chair and $265 to repair and reupholster the chair ($450 total). While this piece is not original to my family, it is now another quality piece of furniture that will be passed down in my family for many generations to come. In my opinion, the money I spent to have the furniture redone was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the workmanship I received. I will definitely use Eden and A+ Furniture Refinishing again and highly recommend them to all of my friends and family.

EDEN Finishing refinished the antique end table brilliantly! They repaired the battered legs and worn knob and restored the table to its' original beauty. The service was professional and quite charming. The owner and his daughter came to my home and took the table to their place of business and refinished it . They returned it to me in one week. They came to my home on the day our contractors started on the kitchen remodel, called me at work with a price to do the work and took the table and chairs to their shop upon my okay. The table and chairs were ready to deliver to my home the next week. They were prompt and did a terrific job. Our kitchen contractor was impressed by the match to the finish, particularly because the cabinets are cherry. It looks like we have a new table and chairs. They did what they said they would, on time at the price quoted. I am a fully satisfied customer.

An old chest of drawers that had been in the family for a long time had been abused by pot head teenagers with drawings and burn marks all over the top and sides. It looked horrible. My wife wanted to throw it out. These guys worked a miracle and removed all markings, repaired drawers, filled in gouges. These guys worked nothing short of a miracle. The piece is show room GORGEOUS now and I am forever grateful.
