He did a relativity a good job cleaning the carpets. After it was over he said he was not able to move thing such as my glass tables, however I, would have moved them If I would have know that when he started.. He seemed a little upset when I was not able to take his calls, He shared with me he tried reaching me several times. I'm not sure if I would use them again I ask my self that, But they do have great coupons.
Description of Work: I used them to clean my carpet in my home.

Great Job! Would have them again. In fact they sent me a half-off coupon to use within 6 months (same areas).
Description of Work: We had living room, diningroom, hall, tv room steps and family room cleaned. The service men were very professional. Came in went right to work. They were finished in about half an hour. Never questioned the price quoted and only asked if I wanted any disinfective. They put protectors under the furniture and moved back a couple of pieces of furniture (we had moved as much as we could). And off they went.

Chris and his partner were on time, very professional and very nice. They were very helpful and explained each step to us. They cleaned the heat vents as well as the return air vents and our even cleaned out our dryer vent for us. They found TONS of dust and dog hair in the vent system and even a dead mouse "EEK!". So happy they were able to come out on such short notice and were able to give us a good price with our Angie's List discount. Would hire them again and will recommend to neighbors and friends.
Description of Work: We had our air ducts cleaned in a home we recently moved into - it was built in the early 70s and had never had the air ducts cleaned before. As the previous owners had 3 large indoor dogs, and all of us suffer from allergies and asthma, we felt it was a good idea to have them thoroughly cleaned.

Servicemen's job performance was absolutely atrocious, awful, uncaring & lacking in integrity. I didnt pay for their crap work...& the supervisor & owner said not to as well, after I explained to them the lousy shoddy work done. So they move onto the two other floor registers, with these only about 3 feet horizontally is able to be cleaned because the ducting structure then turns 90 degrees downward, the cleaning air blower cant negotiate that tight turn. The remaining length of these particular ducts need to be accessed by drilling holes in them from the basement. Regards the fifth register, I had just replaced the horizontal 3 foot section with new duct work myself; the old section had asbestos wrapped around it & had to go, so that 3 ft. horizontal section didnt need cleaning there. Due to the poor vacuum suction previously alluded to, fine dust had escape capture around the outside of all the registers openings, which I was left to clean-up. Next it was onto the basement, they cut 1 inch holes into the supply side ducts to clean the ducts inaccessible from the upstairs registers. While blowing air through these ducts, dust & debris was coming out into the basement through the seams in the ducts....this should not have been had they closed off & zoned off all the vents ( & not lost the 80 - 85% of vacuum suction power ). Then they moved onto the return side trunk line, cutting the 12" access hole for the big vacuum hose directly opposite the furnace filter. After they had cleaned a portion of the return trunk furthest from the vacuum hose they told me to go turn on the furnace / blower. I thought about it a second.... & said that will draw the dust & dirt from the return trunk & then into the house.... they said they needed the extra suction power of the blower to clean the remainder of the return. I did so hesitantly, something just didnt seem right about that....Good thing I use top of the line 2200 3M Filtrete Filters, because a poorer quality filter would have allowed a lot of the dirt ( from the return line being cleaned ) to pass through to the supply side ( they had just cleaned ) & then gone on into my upstairs living space. In later talking to other duct cleaning contractors I learned of " zoning off " of the supply from the return sides, at the air filter. And it goes to follow that the blower fan should not be used to vacuum, as they had done, some of that stirred of dirt & debris likely did pass through the filter ( even though it's top quality ) & through the furnace to the supply side & into my house. Another tip I was told is to have the supply side done first & the return side last. With the return side usually being dirtiest of teh two, doing it last, the dirtied servicemen wont need to go back upstairs later.... Another pathetic attempt to cut corners was - the guy screws on a piece of sheet metal over the hole cut in the supply trunk line & then tapes it over, but then on the return side he only screws on the sheet metal cover plate but doesnt bother with taping it. I point it out to him & he says they normally dont tape that one. I said tape it & he did. They didnt bother sweeping up the basement floor of all the metal shavings from drilling & cutting the holes. They didnt ask me at any point was I happy.... At the end, I pointed out to them the troubled spots they hadnt addressed & that I wasnt happy with the job & refused to pay. They left & I called their supervisor & told him what all occurred ( ...less some items I came to learn about later - e.g. "zoning off" ). This was a Friday & the supervisor said he'd call me next week, after he talked with the servicemen. A week later Friday, having not heard from him I called him back. He was apologetic & said I didnt need to pay the invoice & said he would send the guys to do whatever to make it right. I said dont send them over, I had taken care of it all myself already. I had spent the rest of that Friday, the day the work was done, from like 10:30 am to 10 pm & all the next day finishing cleaning the ducts & the dirt that had escaped the vacuum cleaning suction & settled in my house, upstairs & in the basement. I had to take apart three of the ducts to get at the trouble spots & they needed cleaning, the accumulated build-up was still there. As I prepared this review I got a lot more clarity regards the whole situation & wanted the servicemen to explain to me why I got such a lousy job. I called Teasdale & spoke with the supervisor, saying that I wanted to talk with the servicemen.... that didnt go over so well, so I called & spoke with the owner. He suggested a phone call the following week between myself, him & the head serviceman. They called me & we spoke, they said as a result of my complaint, they've changed their procedure of how they do the job going forward; so maybe they have, but I wont call on them again. Below are some duct cleaners that I believe would do a good job & recommend after extensive research. All are NADCA members, & being members they are to uphold a certain standard in how the job is done ( see the NADCA website ). Expect to pay a minimum of $300 & avoid the $55 & $69 Special Offers / scams You can request a contractor to come have a look & give you an estimate rather than giving an estimate sight unseen. That's probably fairer to all. Description of Work: Teasdale Fenton Duct Cleaners - Servicemen's job performance was absolutely atrocious, awful, uncaring & lacking in integrity. I didnt pay for their crap work...& the supervisor & owner said not to as well, after I explained to them the lousy shoddy work done. JOB PERFORMED - DUCT CLEANING ( at a small 900 sq.ft. 90 year old house that I rent ) Duct cleaning stirs up old dirt & debris in the process of removal & if not done properly that dust & debris can escape capture & settle back into your home, which is what I got & was left to clean up. If you're not going to do the job right, dont do it at all, get out of the business ! Prior to calling on Teasdale F to do the work, I had also contacted a number of other duct cleaners & had gone online checking out youtube videos & the NADCA website (duct cleaners trade association, good info there ) to educate myself as to what to expect in getting the ducts cleaned. You most definitely want someone qualified & of integrity to do this work, you want that the dirt & debris broken loose in the process, that it be contained & vacuumed away & not escaping back into your home. I wished I'd have known then what I later learned....I would have known what to insist on & if not done would have told them to leave as I saw the appalling quality of their work. At the time I wasnt really sure about the cleaning procedure so I could only trust them....but they were cutting corners every which way.... ( I have since come to know of some other companies that I believe will do a decent job, names below, at the end ) Some basics are in order here regards Duct Cleaning which should help you in choosing a contractor. The most common method to clean ducts is the "push pull method". An air hose ( with an on / off trigger mechanism) has interchangeable nozzles attached on the end, that shoots high pressure air out in 360 degrees, is inserted into the ducts from the registers (grill is removed), blowing forward loosened dust & debris which is sucked up & into a strong industrial vacuum cleaner which is hooked-up to the main trunk lines, the supply side & return sides, first one then the other. A 10 to 12 inch diameter access hole is cut into these two main trunk lines to which connects a 10 -12 inch vacuum hose coming from the vacuum cleaner. ( At this 12 inch access hole a camera or mirror with flashlight allows for before & after viewing of the trunk lines, have a look ; also a camera or mirror & flashlight can be revealing as to dirt in the ducts at the registers as well, you can do that yourself ). Some Duct Cleaners say they have cameras... I specified I wanted Teasdale to bring theirs; it was on the invoice, but they did not. They didnt even have a mirror. Due to tight elbows/angles in the duct work the air blowing/cleaning hose might not be able to be snaked through those ducts, as were some in my system. So to get access to those ducts, the servicemen went to the basement , & gained access to them by drilling a one inch access hole at strategic points in the ducts ( holes later plugged ) & a air hose with a reverse air blowing nozzle was inserted , blowing debris back towards the big vacuum cleaning hose attached to the trunk line. Various different air nozzles exist to deal with different situations. There are nozzles with rubbery flexible air whips, with single or multiple tendrils thru which air flows, the tendrils flail about blowing air & banging against the duct walls to loosen the dust & debris. The multi-tendril with like 10 thin whips is good for the mechanical breaking loose ( banging - scraping like action ), for more stuck-on debris. My ducts had trouble spots of accumulated stuck on debris at the place where the ducts turn up into the registers; inspection myself with a mirror & flashlight, revealed that. The multi-tendril whip could have removed that build-up. I mentioned these trouble spots to the servicemen when they first arrived & that I wanted particular attention given there. And then they finished & hadnt seen to those spots. I brought it to their attention, but they had packed up & they werent about to bring their equipment back in.... ( One company mentioned they have cylindrical brushes ( for round ducts ) on a cordless drill that they can use for stuck on debris.... there might also be such brushes on a flexible shaft that's inserted by hand.) As I began calling around getting estimates for the job, a few companies were selling me ( as did the Teasdale serviceman ) on the suction power of the vacuum cleaner machine they use ( the CFMs / cubic feet per minute). This strong suction is critical to contain the dust & debris removed from the ducts ( what with the various tools shooting high pressure air through the ducts...). In the "push/ pull " method of Duct Cleaning the most basic common standard procedure is to close off all the vents & " zone off" ( seal off ) the filter opening with a board or bag over the filter to maximize vacuum suction power. Only open is the one vent being cleaned, so all the vacuum suction is on that one vent for maximum vacuum suction of all the dirt & debris being blown loose & to be vacuumed up. This closing off of all the vents except the one being cleaning is plainly ( obvious & a no brainer once understood & ) most basic & critical so that the maximum of dirt & debris is captured & vacuum up & a minimum escapes back into the house. So there really is no excuse that the crew from Teasdale did not bother to do this. Closing off the vents & filter opening would have taken 5 minutes ! Having skipped out on this resulted in about an 80 to 85% loss of vacuum suction power as the vents were being cleaned ! ( calculated on there being 5 vents & one return; the return opening, equal to 3 vents ). Having not done this, a lot of fine dust & dirt escaped the vacuum & settled into & dirtied my living space & basement that should not have. And I was left to clean up the mess. Early on as the cleaning began on the vent registers from the upstairs, I was watching them, & recalled they had not closed off the vents before beginning cleaning ( I wasnt knowledgeable at the time about the procedure of zoning off of the filter opening... ). As I recalled this I said to the one serviceman - ' shouldnt the vents be closed ' & he replied - we dont do that. I didnt fully understand at the time how critical that was & let it pass (...I had seen the closing off of the vents on a youtube video ). The cleaners were moving rather quickly, it was all a lot for me to try to take in & grasp... I suppose I gave them credence as being the pros, that was a mistake. I was not happy with their job job performance regards these additional items also. Previously mentioned, they didnt have the camera for before & after viewing. Good thing I had inspected what I could with a mirror & flashlight. After they had cleaned the first vent & moved onto the next one, I went with my flashlight & mirror to see about the trouble spot in the first vent, the accumulated build-up of debris about two feet down from the register opening, to find it still there. I called them back & showed them this. They have a look & say they haven't any way to deal with that build-up...after some back & forth discussion the helper guy goes out to the truck & brings in a big brush designed for like a big trunk line ( oversized for this particular duct, which is 8 inches diameter ), but the boss guy manages to force the brush down the duct & it clears the accumulated build-up, my flashlight & mirror confirm it (....where was their mirror or camera to confirm it.... - maybe cause, if you can't see it, you don't need to possibly repeat it....). After pulling the brush out of the duct, the guy lays it down on the carpet which I wasn't pleased with either. So they go back to the second vent ( the bathroom vent) the one guy is pushing the big brush down it. It's then that I remember that they hadn't closed off the other vents & mention it to the helper guy & he says they don't do that. And the guy forces the brush down the duct to get at the trouble spot & having drawn it out, I take it from him before he can lay it on the floor again & I put it outside on the deck ( the brush was done with, the other trouble spots in the other 3 ducts could not be reached with the brush due to their design structure). And then the guy proceeds with sticking the cleaning air blower down the duct & I impulsively say " push it on down there further " (meaning - the cleaning blower hose ) as I could see he'd only pushed it down 4 or 5 feet & was removing it. He ignored me. He had another 5 or 6 feet he could have extended it further into the duct in cleaning it. His helper said - we got 30 feet of hose ( ....only like 12 of which is for going down the duct, the on /off trigger is at about 12 feet of length). I said - ' my arm span is 6 feet & you dont even have that much down the duct'. And that proved true, after he had removed the blower hose from the duct it was only about 4 or 5 feet he'd run into the duct. [ I maybe should have asked them to leave at that point, but didnt...I was so looking forwarded to getting the ducts cleaned in the hope of ending the dust problem in my house... They had come all this way & got all set up to do the job & were there doing it, but the guy is just not bothering to push the cleaning blower another few feet further ! They were just going through the motions, faking it. I'm there watching them...so I can only suppose they've been doing such crappy shoddy work for so long they couldnt change from their routine to save themselves, from being possibly called on it... being that I'm there watching them, it was brazen. Response from Teasdale Fenton Cleaning & Property Restoration
Interesting reading from our customer regarding his air duct cleaning experience. Although we do our very best to take care of our customers in the utmost professional manner, unfortunately, at times we do not please everyone. In reading the report that was written, there may be some validity to his claims, however, not the entire article was correct. There are some air duct cleanings, due to the type of furnace and duct work that can not be cleaned in the normal manner, therefore, we improvise and put forth the best effort we can. Just because a person reads something on the internet about air duct cleaning, that does not make them an authority or expert on the intricate parts of cleaning the system. Our staff of technicians are fully trained and do this everyday without problems The customer called our office with a complaint and spoke with our operations manager on three (3) separate occasions and kept telling the story the same each time. Each time he was given an apology and an offer to come back to his residence and re-clean his ducts and each time he refused. In addition he was offered a certificate for air duct cleaning at a future date, at no charge to him, which he refused. The last conversation the operation manager had with him, he asked the customer what would make him happy and he could not give an answer, but continued with his same story. He also felt that our technical should give him a formal apology. The owner of our company called the customer along with our technician and tried to address his complaint and again was given an apology and the offer to re-clean his ducts, and once again he refused. Even though his ducts were cleaned, he refused to pay our invoice and continued with calling the company making complaints. In the past years we have been give rave reviews on our air duct cleaning and have never experienced this type of situation. We feel as a company, we have done everything in our power to try and rectify his complaint, and we do not agree with all of the content of his issues. We have done our utmost to alleviant and correct his complaint, however he has refused any form of an offer to try to make him happy.

They were responsive and professional, and puctual. The technician sold me on a teflon coating so I paid more than the advertised price. I wasn't happy with the service because they didn't move ANY furniture, not even the lightweight coffee table in front of my sofa. Because of this there was a large dirt spot left there and in several other places. I was home when the work was done and I would have been happy to move the furniture for him so that he could clean properly, but I didn't realize this would be skipped. Where he did clean he did a good job.

It took them about 5 days to call me back from when I initially called them. When they finally did come out, they used my extra padding. They used their tack strips. I had to replace the base boards myself. They came back and put the carpet back. They were supposed to clean the carpet as well, but when they left, the carpet was wetter than before they came. It took me 3+ days to dry the carpet with a fan. They seemed more concerned about getting paid.

No spot remover used to clean spots. Crevice tool not used to go around baseboards. When I called company to ask about this (since a former well-known carpet cleaning company did both without being asked to do so) I was told this was "show boating" and they did not do this. I was not told this when I called for their service. Good reports were given on Angie's list and I just presumed all companies are accommodating in this way. I guess I should not presume in the future. All-in-all I was extremely disappointed in the work from Teasdale Fenton. I was offered a redo from Teasdale Fenton but I declined. If a job is unsatisfactory the first time, why give them a second chance at messing up. The cost was not excessive but I would have paid twice as much to get a satisfactory cleaning of my carpets. Needless to say, I will not be using them again!

My wife and I had an extremely short window to move into our new house. Cleaning and disinfecting the air ducts was a must. The quality of work, professionalism, punctuality, flexibility of timing due to my family's constrictive time frame, and respective attitudes of the technicians exceeded my expectations. I know now that our new home is clean and safe for my wife and our new baby boy. I was very please and will definitely use Teasdale Fenton again in the future.

We had Teasdale Fenton clean our carpets and some area rugs last year, and they offered us a substantial discount to clean the exact areas again, so we had them out for another cleaning after just putting our house on the market. They made clear the discounted service was for traffic areas only - no moving furniture. The technician was very professional, but he arrived 30 minutes early before we were completely ready for him... normally we have all small items moved out of the way, e.g., fans, toys, boxes, etc., before they arrive. In every room, as we were somewhat frantically moving items out of the technician's way, he kept telling us not to move anything, and that if we did he would have to charge us more to do "non-traffic areas". Mind you - we weren't moving any beds, dressers, sofas, tables, etc., and we weren't asking HIM to move ANYTHING. It got so ridiculous - after he said he wouldn't clean under a moving box we had been packing without charging us more - that my wife called the main office to ask what was going on. The representative apologized, and said that many customers had tried to abuse the discounted service. She instructed the rep to clean under anything we moved out of his way, and all ended well. But it was a bit of an uncomfortable and crazy ordeal to get it done! To be clear, the technician was a very professional gentleman who obviously had been so sternly instructed on the "traffic areas only" policy that he went overboard. But, the carpets looked great and the discounted return service was a good value overall.

Setting up the appointment was an easy phone call. They were flexible in scheduling. The crew was punctual, professional and did a good job. The only drawback was that the price quoted for the sofa was not what was charged. They charged significantly more for a sectional which I thought should have been made clear when I asked them prices of sofa cleaning on the phone when initially making the appointment.
Description of Work: I had 3 bedrooms, a hall and stairs cleaned as well as a sectional couch

Company cleaned carpets in new home prior to moving in. Cleaning truck broke down shortly after arrival so appointment had to be rescheduled. They worked to get the carpets cleaned early the following day before they did their other jobs. I appreciated their efforts. Carpets were cleaned without issues. I had them come back in about a week to clean sofa, chair, and ottoman. Again, job was done very well.

They came to do the ducts, showed me a live video picture of what was going on in our duct work. They also removed pet hair and urine from our couch cushions. Their treatment worked after I had tried everything! I was pleased.

Service scheduled between 8 and 10 in the morning. Just slightly before 8, two technicans arrived and while I'm glad I didn't have to wait around all day, I was very surprised the service provider didn't call ahead to advise they were on the way and provide the name of the employees. No advance notice meant I couldn't first put the cat in a closed room and because they have to leave the front door open when they work, I worried after they left that she may have gotten out. The technicans were courteous, nice, not pushy. I did, however, agree to $60 in additional sanitation service they recommended when I mentioned that there were some dog urine spots that may or may not be old. Seemed reasonable. When they were leaving, the carpets looked much better. I was very surprised, however, to observe after they left that with the exception of one chair, not a single piece of furniture was on the little styrfoam squares while the carpet dried. It did not look like they cleaned under anything. Today, just 48 hours later as I prepare for company coming next weekend, I found that in fact they had not. There were dead bugs and dust/paper/etc. under a couple of small pieces of furnitiure and even a small ball (think fist-sized, not pool). As I took pictures of some examples, I also noticed a stain in the hallway that I checked and it was a smelly gift from the pet. I called the Teasdale-Fention office to share my concerns about the cleaning and this was the biggest breakdown in customer service. I was told that it had been my responsibility to have told them if I wanted any furniture moved. My thinking is that if they thought I had an affirmative duty to let them know that my expectation was that all of the carpet be cleaned they should have told me that when I scheduled or when they arrived. Prior to using Teasdale-Fenton, carpet cleaners always cleaned under small furniture. (I'm not thinking they should move bookshelves or heavy tv stands but one item, for example, was a cheap little round decorative side table that wasn't even made of wood - a 6 year old have lifted it up.) The woman on the phone made excuses, did not offer to work something out about the areas missed, and did not even ask my name so that she could put a note on my account for future service (of which there now will be none) indicating that I wanted small items moved for cleaning. Mistakes happen, we're all human, but the type of company I want to do business with is one that corrects them. There was no interest by this service provider to do so.
Description of Work: I scheduled carpet cleaning for 5 rooms and a hallway, plus additional teflon protection for one of the rooms.

Response from Teasdale Fenton Cleaning & Property Restoration
This certainly is not the custormer service our company passes on to our customers. It is quite unusual that our CSR agent did not advise this customer that we would come back and re-clean. We do not call our customers prior to coming out to their homes since the appointment time was 8:00 AM, we usually call our customers if we are running late. Our company policy is to move all furniture ie: couchs -chairs-tables-etc. she is correct, we do not move chest, electonics, book cases and such. We offer that service and the customer is advised on the day of the booking if they want the furniture moved, we will be happy to do that, but they need to advise the tech what to move and what not to move. Customers vary on this issue, therefore , we do not move things on our own as some customers have scolded us for this in the past. But again , we will move what the customer wants us to if they ask. I would have liked the opportunity to talk with this customer and I wish she would have asked to speak with the Operations Manager and this could have been prevented. I will contact this customer and apologize for these issues and offer some type of resolution for her. This is not our normal way to do business and I am quite surprised this occured. It went very well overall. Teasdale was very responsive, and I was very impressed that they came the day that I called to assess the damage and start the clean-up process. They were very professional, and made recommendations regarding what items could be salvaged and what needed to be discarded. They took away the damaged furniture items that needed to be discarded. They were also helpful in handling things with my insurance company. There were several teams of people who came in to perform work, and although it took a fair amount of coordinating to set up times with each one of them, they were very accommodating and worked around my schedule. Although my carpet pad had to be removed, they were able to clean and keep my carpet. The carpet looks great, and there is no residual odor in my basement. Because Teasdale has all of the relationships established, they were able to provide me with a plumber, a person who specifically worked on carpets, and a builder/carpenter who could replace my vanity. It saved me a lot of time and hassle, and the work that they did was great. I hope to never have another basement flood, but if I did, I would certainly use them again.
Description of Work: I had a sump pump failure and basement flood. Teasdale came just a couple of hours after I called. The owner himself came and assessed the damage that occurred, then activated several teams of people. One team came and pulled the water out of the carpet, lifted the carpet and set up fans and dehumidifiers. A second team evaluated the sump pump and replaced it within the next week, setting up a back up sump and battery as well. Over the next two weeks, several teams came in to check on the drying process, remove the pad, clean the carpet, stretch the carpet, and put everything back together. Because of water damage to my bathroom vanity, the vanity was also replaced and caulked.

The service was done at the cost quoted. I used a coupon for 5 rooms at $89.99. There was a $12 fee for environmental waste disposal of the cleaning water. I was informed of this on the phone when I made the appointment. The carpets look good and I would use them again.

Went mostly well. There were two stains which were not removed but I wasn't expecting them to be. There was broken glass that was not vacuumed up, I was hoping they would get it all up, but they didn't.

They are awesome! It was just done. Sometimes you dread having a service provider come into your home. They did the job and got it taken care of. I did not have to worry about anything. They were professional, did the job and left. They are cost effective, polite and fast.
