Response from Clayzen Consulting
We just checked our records, and [removed member name] contacted us late Thursday night, December 5 via email with a description of a basement waterproofing issue. On Monday morning December 9, we sent [removed member name] an email describing the potential phases of our service along with fees anticipated for each phase. He responded saying he contacted and hired another company. Based on his review, we will certainly work harder to provide quicker responses to service inquires.

Excellent experience. Well worth the money
Description of Work: I am purchasing a new home and during inspection some structural concerns were noted that need to be addressed before proceeding. Rob Knarr was very helpful and straightforward in his evaluation. He was very responsive to our request to evaluate the house structure and was able to make an appointment quickly and was timely and very professional. He was a pleasure to work with. I specifically like the way he defined his fee for services.

I have an old home built in 1915. After living in the house for about 2 months I got to know the house a little better and I had some structural concerns. Rob inspected the house and addressed all my concerns. Rob's inspection was 10 times more informative than the home inspector I hired before buying the home. The visit took about 2 hours. Knowledgeable, professional, slant towards perfection and patient are good ways of describing Rob's inspection. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: Inspected the house for structural issues

Newly purchased single family home with water intrusion in storm cellar and cracks in same foundation. Contacted Robert @ Clayzen Consulting. Decided to do so after receiving a few bids for "basement repair"... bids were in the $13K-$15K range. After Consulting with Robert, we came up with a plan of action, saved multiple thousands of $$$ and have a greater peace of mind in the structural integrity of our home.

Rob Knarr responded to my voice mail promtply and setup an appointment. The day he was supposed to come was one of the ugly snow days we had. He called the evening before to reschedule. On the rescheduled day he arrived on time and examined my foundation and gave me verbal recomendations on its' repair needs. Kind of pricey but at least now when I have the work done, I'll know it was necessary and not just a sales pitch from the foundation repair contractors

Rob Knarr came to do a visual inspection. He made recommendations as to necessary repairs. He was very patient and explained everything clearly. He answered all our questions and spent time making sure that we understood what he found. Our next step will be to hire a firm to stabilize our foundation. I would definitely hire Rob again.

It was a pretty good experience. He came for an on-site visit and was very helpful. He was really communicative and gave me a lot of information. After the visit he sent me a written report with calculations. He sent me a bill for performing the calculations, which I had not expected and was a miscommunication. When I emailed him back questioning the bill, he explained himself and then offered to forgive the bill. The misunderstanding was more on my end. I did pay him for it once I correctly understood what it was for. The price seemed expensive, but I don't have anything to compare it to. He did take awhile some times to respond to my emails.

Mr. Knarr said our foundation didn't need repair if we would solve the problems that caused the movement of the wall. We need to replace the 6 ft leaning retaining wall and not have it attached to the house as it is currently. We need to remove a large oak tree that is too close to the house. We need to add new drainage pipe to drain water away from the house and re-grade the front lawn for better drainage. We had suspected that these things had to be done, but having a professional confirm it gave us confidence to go ahead with the work. We were very glad no foundation work had to be done.
Description of Work: He consulted on problems we were having with the foundation, exterior water drainage and leaning retaining walls. We were given detailed and concise information on how to repair and improve each of our concerns. We are going to have him design a new 6 ft retaining wall.

He came when he was suppose to and did what he was suppose to do. He was able to answer all my questions and explain what I needed to do to maintain my foundation. I would recommend him to others. He did express that there would be an additional charge for a written report.

Rob Knarr came to my home for an on-site inspection, assessed the situation, and explained what needed to be done to stabilize basement walls that had cracked and begun to bow inward. (The cost of the initial inspection was $225). He then said that for an additional fee ($375), he would prepare a plan and specifications that could be used for bidding purposes. I chose to have him do so. Rob was helpful in that he gave me a range of what to expect in repair costs. At my request, he also supplied a list of contractors who might be able to do the job. To date, I have not hired anyone, but plan to within the next week or so. I would encourage anyone faced with a similar situation to consult with Rob; otherwise, you will get half-a-dozen different ideas on how to correct an extremely complex problem from an equal number of contractors. I found his services well worth the investment.

The overall experience was very good. Robert Knarr came out and reviewed what we had done and then looked over the additional cracks. Robert told my wife and I to first fill-in the cracks with caulk to prevent water filtration and then just keep an eye on the cracks. He measured the width and photographed the cracks for a record and to call him if we felt things were getting worse so that he could take further measurements and corrective action if required.
Description of Work: Had our foundation fixed due to this past years drought and we noticed some additional exterior cracks.
