We thought he was very competent and knew his job. He answered questions and worked quickly and gave us the price he had estimated for the work (cleaning 3 landings and 3 flights of steps). Very satisfied with the work.

Just great, I couldn't be happier with their service. They were prompt, effecient and gave me some good advice for taking care of any dirty spots I may get on the carpet before the next cleaning is due. I chose them because they were highly recommended on Angie's list and in addition they offered a big coupon deal. I have already recommended them to some other people.

Please do NOT hire Apke Carpet Cleaning for oriental carpets!!! Although John Apke was very professional and apologetic, and did NOT charge me in the end, the cleaning staff basically RUINED MY CARPETS. When the carpets were brought back to me, he unrolled them on the floor, and BOTH of us just stood there aghast. They were still dirty, the fringe had NOT been cleaned at all and still had bits of food and paper stuck in them, and when I ran my hand over them dust and bits of soap particles flew out. Worst of all, two of the carpets (one of the 6x9 and a 5x7) were silk-blend, with rather fragile pile that crushes easily. The carpets were very obviously rolled up still wet, and the pile is now permanently crushed in some areas, standing up in other areas, and basically looks matted down in sections. John Apke did seem a bit shocked as well at the poor job done on the carpets, and offered to re-do them and see if he could get the pile to recover, and of course to clean the fringe which had been left uncleaned. Oh, how I wish I had taken them to someone who actually KNOWS oriental carpets! Apke advertises that they do area rugs and oriental carpets, but these were obviously just run through some kind of cleaning machine or a spray hose or something, with no handwork done on them or any attention to detail (except maybe pushing a vacuum cleaner over them). When John brought the carpets back again the following week, he again unrolled them with a flourish, and we AGAIN stood there just...looking at them. They were exactly the same. He was very quiet. I asked him if he supervised what his cleaning people were doing, and he assured me he did, but honestly he couldn't possibly be overseeing this shoddy work and still be in business. In the end, he did not charge me at all, even though I told him that two of the carpets were "acceptable" and I would do the right thing and pay him for those. When my husband came home from being away on business and saw the state of the two silk-blend carpets, crushed and matted pile and dirty fringe, he was ready to sue for the cost of ruining two carpets. I don't really feel like going through the drama and trauma of a small-claims case, and am now considering taking them to an ACTUAL specialist in oriental rugs to see how they can be revived. MORAL: APKE MIGHT BE FINE AT ROOM CARPET CLEANING, BUT THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE AN ORIENTAL CARPET.

I called on a Friday and got an appointment for the following Wednesday. The cleaners were scheduled to come between 11-12. Color me surprised when they showed up EARLY! IT wasn't even 10:30 when they showed up. Fortunately, I had just taken the dogs to my parent's, so I was ready for them to be here. I certainly have no complaint about them showing up early, because it is quite refreshing. I'm so used to service people showing up long after their scheduled time-frame. So, a solid A for showing up early. It's hard to tell how good the cleaning job is when it's still wet, but it definitely looked a lot cleaner when they left. The carpet was almost totally dry by the end of the day and I could see that some of the areas didn't get totally clean They said they went over the heavily stained areas several times, and it definitely looked better...but not perfect. Additionally, that carpet still smells. It smells better than it did, but still has a noticeable odor. Somewhat disappointing. Based on the fact that I didn't notice any other fragrance, I'm guessing they didn't use any kind of deodorizer.

Outstanding. One of the most professional and friendly business' I have delt with in the 9 years I have used Angie's List. Scheduled service very easily with John Apke and the carpet cleaning was done by Joel Apke (and Katrina). Two professionals who respect the work done in their family's name. Joel and Katrina were dressed very professionally and their service vehicle and equipment was also very clean and well maintained. They arrived about 15 minutes early after calling to see if that would be OK. The entire service took about 1 hour and the carpets look great. Very effficient and informative. I am very happy I have used them.

It was, overall, a positive experience; I was concerned that I would have to replace my carpet and now it looks brand new!

The experience exceeded my expectations. Scheduling was easy. Lionel showed up on time to perform the work. He was professional and courteous. He worked hard. I would gladly ask for his services again. Apke has often exceeded my expectations.

I called and spoke with John directly and set a date for him to come over and submit an estimate. He even called me from the road when he realized he was going to be about 15 mins. late due to traffic. I found that to be a point in his favor immediately. He e-mailed an estimate to me very promptly and I told him I would call him as soon as i was ready for him to proceed. I called John and set up a date for the actual work to be done. The other thing that impressed me was the fact I was not charged extra for needing work to be performed on a Saturday!

John Apke was a great help when we discovered a basement flood after being out of town. He came promptly on a Sunday, assessed the damage using dampness gauges and prepared an estimate. We agreed to the cost and John and company proceeded to remove the damaged carpet, suck up extra water, and place huge fans and dehumidifiers to dry the basement. When his crew came back later in the week to remove the dryers, after testing they determined a couple more days of fans would be needed. John and his crew were professional, pleasant and on the ball. And the insurance inspector thought their rates were extremely reasonable. We greatly appreciated Apke's help and would call them again for sure.

The cleaners did an excellent job. We have cats and all evidence of any "accidents" they had were completely removed. We ran into one issue. I had scheduled the appointment and the person who took it down forgot to write it in the appointment book. They were supposed to show up early morning (around 8:00 AM) and when I called home at lunch time to see how the carpet looked, my husband said they hadn't come yet. I called the "emergency" number and explained the issue. They called me back and said there was a misunderstanding, the person who took the appointment didn't write it down on the schedule. They came out that afternoon immediately after finishing another job. By the time I got home from work around 4:30, they had the carpets finished and were gone. Like I said, they did an excellent job with the cleaning and the price was right, I just wish there wasn't miscommunication with appointment time.

Very responsive, on time, quality work; professional and courteous

Apke has been very responsive to my scheduling needs including setting up dry-out on a Sunday morning when I was out of town, after a neighbor discovered recurrence of leak. John Apke exceeded my expectations yesterday by loaning me a spare moisture test meter and drying fan in case of additional leaks - to keep and use as needed until I get the source of the leak corrected. I would definitely recommend Apke to anyone who has a need to repair water damage, due to their responsiveness, professionalism and quality of work.

They were very responsive to my schedule needs (condo listing/showing) and did a very thorough job. They had high quality standards - going over some high traffic areas more than once (at their own initiative) to ensure best possible end result. The carpets hadn't been cleaned for nearly 4 years, and they looked like new after Apke finished the job. I would definitely recommend Apke for both carpet cleaning and water leak dry-out (see separate report).

The serviceman went to the wrong address the first time on the other side of town. He had difficult telling me where he was so that I could give him directions. (I think he was in Withamsville. I'm in Colerain Twp.). He arrived about 50 minutes after his first call. He did a great job cleaning the carpets. 95% of the stains came out. I'm impressed. I didn't have him move the heavy furniture, but just a few small tables and dining room chairs. He also cleaned the upholstery. I was surprised in that I don't believe he cleaned the backs of the sofa and loveseat. However, this is the first time I've had them professionally cleaned. Perhaps the backs aren't normally done. Overall, Mike did a very good job. he was very nice and got right to work after we discussed what I wanted clean. I plan on referring my girlfriend to Apke for her carpet cleaning.

The guys showed up right on time, and did a very thorough professional job. The carpets look great, and dried in about 7 hours. They were able to remove stains that we had not been able to get out ourselves. Overall, a great value. I have already referred family members to Apke for their carpet cleaning needs.

I was really happy with them. I used them because there was an Angie?s List deal. Just one guy came and he did all of the work himself, and the carpet looked fantastic. I will likely call them again because, even without the deal, they seem to be affordable. He was ridiculously punctual.

I had Sears clean my carpets last year and it was the worst cleaning job I've ever had to pay for. I joined Angie's List with the express hope of finding a better carpet cleaner, I FOUND THEM!!!! All I can say is WOW, what a great job my carpets look like new! I'll never call those "Big Store" cleaners again................I

They arrived exactly on time. The two man team were very courteous and cleaned the carpets thoroughly. The even cleaned my foyer rug and doorstep rug complimentary. I will be using them in the future.
