Service was dispatched very quickly and Scott, the technician, called beforehand to let me know when he would arrive. He was very knowledgeable and figured out quickly what was needed for the repair. He even did some off-hours research into our off-brand heat pump in order to get the needed parts locally AND he found out we were still covered under warranty. Scott did an excellent job and made sure everything was working correctly before we signed off on anything. We decided to sign up for their Stars and Stripes annual service program to keep our system functioning correctly. Absolutely no hard sell from Scott, only great service! So very pleased with the outcome - and we have nice warm heat again!

They scheduled an appointment and gave me a 2-hour window for arrival, saying the technician would call when he was on his way. I missed part of a work day waiting for him to arrive. He never showed up. He called me as I was on my way back to work, after the 2-hour period was up. He did not offer any excuse or explanation; instead, he told me their office employee would call me to schedule another appointment! I told him not to bother, that I would hire someone who actually shows up as promised.

Patriot Air saved the day after my furnace went out and the inside temperature got down to 47! I was provided a fair quote promptly, given good technical advice regarding which system would be best for my house and was not pressured into buying. I initially wanted to hold off on buying a new furnace since I was working with a local independent contractor to fix my old unit. When I called Patriot Air one day after receiving the initial quote, they were able to schedule me within hours despite already having a full install schedule! I was so grateful since at this point I was desperate! The technician arrived about two hours after scheduling and he was professional, courtesy, and thorough. It took about 4 hours to complete the install. So far (day 4) the unit has been working great! I would highly recommend this company, especially since I did some shopping around and their pricing really was competitive.

Professional and timely installation

We have a service agreement with them.The system that we have requires an air conditioning filter which you can't find anywhere and they always have it.

First of all, this is my first time every posting a review about a company, but this experience and interaction was so bad, and it was with the owner and president of the company that I had to share it, in hopes that someone will read this and second guess ever hiring this company. I would give negative stars if I could. I am a very busy person and writing a review like this takes time, but it was so important to me that I am taking time out of my busy schedule to write this review This company was hired through my builder for installation of a geothermal and hvac unit for my home. We built a custom home, so we spent a considerable amount of money and time on this home. The cost of our home was well over 1 million, and by installing a geothermal system we paid about 50-55k over what a regular hvac unit would cost. Usually when you spend money like this you expect the people who you have done work for you in your house to have integrity and at the bare minimum show you a minimum level of respect. Overall, this has been true with most of the vendors my builder has chosen, however it was extremely untrue with this business. The problem stems with the owner of the company Bill Kanipe. There was an issue with our first floor holding the heat when we initially moved in. Patriot sent a technician over and he changed the thermostat on the main floor. The technician wasn't sure if that was the issue, but he said that would be a good place to start. A short while after I noticed that this thermostat was different than the one that was previously installed and different from the two other thermostats we have in our house. This thermostat didn't have the humidity reading on it whereas the previous one did and all the other ones did. I contacted patriot about this and eventually spoke to Bill Kanipe about it. Bill entered my home a short while later. He was fueled with anger, and addressed me with just a lot of attitude. He walked into my house like he had a chip on his shoulder, as if he owner the place, and just was rude and condescending the manner he addressed me. He explained to me that a technician had never entered my home and changed the thermostat, and to put the thermostat on that I was requesting would cost me 100, he said all the other ones were an upgrade that he didn't charge us for. I just wanted the same thermostat as before so I agreed to the 100 dollar charge and I was just taken away and in shock on how this guy, a man I have probably paid well over 100k to do the work in my home and installed a premium geo system had just spoken to me. I was also very taken back when he was esentially calling me and my wife liars as if we made up that a technician was in our house and replaced the thermostat. So the technician eventually came out and replaced the thermostat, i got an invoice charge for 450. At the same time the technician was installing the thermostat another employee from the company was installing a return duct, since they failed to account for this during the building process, so part of the charge was for that labor. This company has done a mediocre to below average job in my opinion in their installation and services. Their customer service skills are probably the worse I have encountered. In the end my builder agreed to pay 350 of the charges and I paid 100 for the thermostat that was originally in my house and taken away and replaced with another lower grade thermostat all while being indirectly told that we are liars since allegedly a technician never came to my place or there is no record of it. My builder actually agreed to also pay for the 100, probably in embarrassment of how this guy acted. What ever happened to the customer is always right. Is it good business practice to charge someone something that you removed from their house and then put back in and also call them a liar, when they have paid you a premium for your services? I hope people will read this when deciding to choose patriot for any work. Bill Kanipe is very rude, unethical, lacks customer service skills, and just a poor businessman. This company needs to change its focus and that needs to start with owner. As far as their installation and system goes, I think I wasted a ton of money because I haven't realized any savings with geothermal, and have already had a problem with one of my rooms not getting hot or cold. When I asked the technician for calculations, because all hvac units have heating/cooling load calculations he also got very defensive. What are they trying to hide?

I couldn't be happier! From the first meeting with Bill to the City of Columbus Inspection, Patriot Air came thru with flying colors. Before I invested a lot of money, I did my research. Everything I read said that getting a good contractor to install the HVAC System properly was the most important thing. Patriot Air had the most and the best reviews of any HVAC contractor around. Patriot Air did not give me the lowest bid, but they were the ones that made me feel the most confident. Their price was competitive and you get what you pay for!!! The crew arrived on time and called prior to arriving. They were very professional and courteous. They also were quiet and completed the project sooner than I expected (all in one day). They cleaned up perfectly and explained the operation of all the components. What more could one ask? The System they recommend was NOT the most expensive system, but it was the one that FIT all of our home's requirements. It looks great, is very quiet, and we have already experienced it's cooling and heating. Very happy. Thanks Bill and Patriot Air! John

Did not use them, but person that figured job was very pleasant.

During a very busy time, they got me booked 3 days out, and first thing the morning of that day. Called when they were on the way, arrived on time, quickly confirmed that it was the capacitor, had one on hand, replaced it and restarted/tested the unit - all good. Fast and efficient - I may have overpaid for the capacitor, but didn't do any checking on the part prices, and, when you get parts via the service provider, there is always that mark up anyway. Regardless, same company we've used many times before, they replaced our old AC unit 3 years ago - will continue to use them for our heating/cooling needs.

I would highly recommend Patriot Air in all regards. Bill, the owner came back three times with new equipment and costs as my specifications changed after pricing other companies and equipment. His installation crew was very knowledgeable, fast and very clean putting down cloth runners and wearing foot covers. One of the best installations I have experienced and I am a very detailed and particular person, having spent most of my life dealing with contractors as a corporate property manager.

Pricing for the service was excellent. The Quality of work performed was also excellent and more than expected. Their response to my service call was quick and service was scheduled in three days with the parts in hand. Parts repair and service was completed within a little over an hour. The service man called ahead and arrived on time as scheduled. Punctuality was outstanding. Sean, (please excuse if not the correct spelling), was absolutely very professional, courteous and respectful. He was genuinely interested that we were completely satisfied with the service provided, as we were. If there was a triple A rating, Patriot Air would be deserving. I highly recommend.

I have been working with 3 companies on replacing my furnace for the past month. Bill the owner of Patriot Air, was very responsive and patient with all my questions. After inspecting my system all three companies determined I needed a new Geo Thermal system. However, Bill suggested I convert to heat pump and electric system due to the cost of installing a loop system. After review of each proposal I decided to go with Patriot. Bill sent most of his staff to my home on Friday 11/7 to install my new furnace. It was expected to be cold the weekend of 11/7 and he normally said it takes two days to install my unit. While here they made all the necessary changes to my electrical service to accommodate the new system. There was about 6 men here working on my installation. They kept my house clean and did an excellent job of cleaning up and removing all materials and waste. I work from home. They worked quietly and did not disturb me. They were courteous and worked fast to get my unit installed in one day! I was so pleased to have heat and my unit is working excellently! Additionally, Bill recommended that my water tank be replaced because it was rusted out and the thermostat kept tripping. I have been working with American Home Shield (AHS) and twice AHS sent me out plumbers who knew nothing about Geo Thermal Units that are hooked to water tanks. AHS sent out their own contractor to look at my Geo Thermal system and only that contractor recommended I replace the compressor on the Geo Thermal unit. With 3 other contractors recommending I replace the unit, I couldn't take the advice of only one contractor recommending the replacement of the compressor. Especially, when that contractor told me that he had to recommend I replace the compressor because that is what AHS wanted him to say (what's the minimum it takes to get the unit repaired - - regardless to the efficiency of the repair). This is an unacceptable way to warrant a homeowner's mechanical systems, in my opinion - - simply to do what costs the least - - regardless of what the customer prefers or what's best for the home owner. Bill has spent much time on the phone trying to work with AHS to get them to replace my water heater and although they agreed to allow only $700 towards the replacement of my system, I am still waiting on their response for the water heater. Patriot Air has gone over and above in providing me with excellent service and showing they care about me as their customer. I would recommend them to anyone. Vangie Barnes

Very competent crew. Bill, the owner, and Charlie (salesman) did very good job determining best option (I had another quote for a different manufacturer). There was a goof on ordering (they didn't initially followup on order w manufacturer) but Bill quickly straightened out the problem & installation was professionally done by a very competent crew. They trained us in its use and programming & verified that the smart phone app worked properly to remotely control the unit. I waited 6 months after installation to write this review for two reasons. First, we had to be away for over 6 weeks for a major surgery, and second, waited to make sure everything went well. The new unit is much quieter and uses much less power/degree day than the one it replaced. We also like the ability to adjust & reprogram it via our iPhone when away from home. All-in-all, Bill's company is an excellent one to do business with!

they were out there when they said and the tech, (mike) was very polite to my mother. he diagnosed the problem and the next day installed the fan and motor. my mother is 85 and could easily get ripped off, but patriot air did a great job.

Bill and Rich went out of their way to help us when we were having some challenges with another provider and then, when we needed it, quickly and efficiently installed new units for us. Great guys who did a really nice job for us.

I too have a very similar story about Patriot Air. When replacing my heat pump I got three quotes from different vendors. I was told by Bill at Patriot Air that he had a XP21 Heat Pump. A Lennox Residential unit that had been ordered for a customer that no longer needed it. Therefore, he was able to charge me the same price for this unit as the next size down. Sounded pretty good, so I agreed. It started to get a little weird when I asked for the paperwork, bill of sale, prior to installation and he said that the installer would have it for me. Once the unit was on the pad and being installed I noticed that it was in fact a XP19 Lennox heat pump. I asked for the work to stop while I called Bill. He said I must be mistaken and that the proper unit was being installed. Unfortunately for me I doubted myself a little and gave the okay for the install to continue. What continued were our problems. It was the winter time and we noticed that cold air was pumping out of the unit while we were programming the thermostat for warm air. I called Patriot Air and they had a technician come to the house. What had happened was that the emergency heat strip was working in conjunction with the cold air, heat and cold battling it out at my expense. Yes, an $1130 dollar electric bill. I called and wrote a letter stating that I believed it was reasonable that they pay a share of the bill. This was the last I ever heard from Patriot Air. I have had problems with the unit ever since. I can't understand why Lennox would allow this company to sell and install their products. I know in my heart I got a complete screwing, however, I believe what goes around comes around. Do not use this company. UPDATE: I had a misunderstanding with Patriot Air and wrote how I viewed the facts as a review on Angie's List. The owner of Patriot Air called me after the review to apologize.The apology was better than words by the actions he followed threw with. He had a technician replace a bad defrost board and perform a general inspection of the heat pump. Additionally, we settled what I thought was my financial loss, by Patriot Air writing a check to make things right. I really couldn't of been more pleased with the outcome and resolution of our differences. I wish this is how things would of gone in the first place but I am now satisfied that Patriot Air did have integrity to ensure this customer was satisfied.

First, I called around to four separate heating and cooling companies to discuss over the phone exactly what I was looking for in regards to a new central air system and heat pump because the current set-up was baseboard heating and window A/C units. When I called Patriot Air I spoke directly to the owner Bill and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about his products and how to address my needs. I scheduled an appointment for Bill to come out and take a look at the job and see if it would be something that could get accomplished within my budget. Bill was on time for the appointment, very courteous and offered suggestions based on his knowledge in the business and not trying to upsell me on things that I didn't need. We decided to go with Patriot Air to install a brand new central air unit, air handler, create new duck work and heat pump in our house. The day the job was scheduled the installers arrived early to start the job and was very polite, neat and organized. They told me exactly what they would be working on and the estimated time that it should take them from start-to-finish. After the job was completed, Bill came and inspected all the work to make sure it met my satisfaction. I was very pleased with the overall job and the service that Patriot Air provided and the process was very simple from end-to-end. Bill and his team are great professionals and I would highly recommend Patriot Air to everyone as I had an excellent experience.

The whole replacement went smoothly and the crew was able to complete both sides within 1 day. (Another day was set aside in case they weren't able to finish, or encountered any unexpected glitches.) The crew arrived within the stated time and were courteous. They all covered their shoes upon entering our home to prevent tracking in dirt and they laid tarps over the pathway from our door to our basement door to prevent old furnace dust & dirt from spilling from the removed parts as they carried them through the house. I was very pleased with their process and the results. I liked that they built the AEP Rebate into their price thus saving us the step of applying for it ourselves. I did get 3 quotes. Each was a different system and each quote was very different from each other. I made my decision based upon ease of combining the high efficiency units we wanted with cost. I read about 2 of the companies on Angie's List. Both were top ranked. The competitor was not able to offer the combination I wanted. He offered to rework the pricing but I declined. The other company was a referral from a friend and the quote given to me was just a verbal quote. I don't like working from a verbal quote since I have a hard time recalling everything told to me even though I write down as much as I can understand. His pricing was slightly over but the rebate from AEP was not included nor did he mention it.

Perfectly. Estimate was great. The day of the install 2 people came out and they were very Friendly and professional took 2 days due to unforeseen issues but they worked with my schedule to pick a second day. I will recommend them to everyone I know!!!

I found Patriot through Angie's List and called for an appt. They tried to work me in the following day but being the first heat wave of the season were no doubt very busy so unable to do so. I was given an appt two days out which worked well for me. Since they had techs off ill the owner showed up himself on Wednesday as promised. He was in and out in less than half an hour and we had air again. The price was fair for the parts and labor. I expect to call them back to perform preventive maintenance I have neglected recently.

Patriot Air Comfort Systems were punctual and very professional. They continue to do maintenance follow-ups on both units. I got them scheduled to come in next week to do an air conditioning test and probably to replace a filter.

The first appointment their were some issues, but the owner of the company called me, sent out a well qulalified tech. At no charge and did the spring check up on my ac system. Rich did an outstanding job......very happy... This company really cares about the customer and not the bottom line!!!!! Their needs to be more companies like this, that cares.....A+++ also Bill the owner and Barbra are great people, I will tell everyone to use this company. Again great job to those involved. A+++.
